He adjusted Haru’s weight on his shoulder and let the boy play absentmindedly with his hair, fingers tangling in the silver strands. Yumro didn’t mind. If anything he enjoyed the feeling. Yumro carried Haru the entire way home, even through the door. The moment Haruhi stepped into view to greet them, Yumro’s heart skipped loud enough he thought Haru could feel it through him. It had only been a day, but seeing his mate again felt like returning after something far longer. Haruhi’s presence filled the space effortlessly. Made the cabin feel warm. Their hands brushed while Haruhi took the bag from him. Yumro smiled softly at him in an almost innocent way, though there were a glint of something in his eyes. “Yes… time flew by,” he said quietly. “But it was a good trip.” He adjusted the sleepy-limp Haru on his shoulder. “Wore him out pretty well too. Maybe he’ll even sleep in tomorrow.” His gaze drifted toward the couch, where Shan was curled up, fast asleep. “I’ll take them upstairs,” Yumro added. “Then… maybe we can have some tea together.” He leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss to Haruhi’s cheek, brief, but full of longing affection, before stepping away. Crossing the room, he carefully scooped Shan up with his free arm, settling the boy against his other shoulder so he carried one on each side. Despite his size, the motion was careful, practiced. The children were light, far lighter than what Yumro was used to carrying. But holding them like this still stirred something protective deep in his chest. For a fleeting moment, it reminded him of holding Haruhi—not physically, but in that same instinctive way, as if he could shield something precious from the world simply by keeping it close. Upstairs, the house was quieter. The soft creak of floorboards and the muted rustle of fabric were the only sounds as Yumro moved over the the boys made up beds in the viewing room. He started with Shan, easing him into the first mattress and pulled a blanket up around him. Shan shifted slightly but didn’t wake. Then is was the next ones turn, he gently lowered Haru onto the mattress, removed Haru's shoes and tucked him in aswell. “Good night boys, I'll see you both tomorrow. Sweet dreams"
