Julius tilted his head when Yukie mentioned a strip club. In that moment, he was reminded—once again—of how much more life experience Yukie had compared to him. His mouth opened as if he were about to say something, but then he closed it again, honestly unsure of what to say. Brushing it off awkwardly, he cleared his throat. “Um, no… but hold that thought for another time, okay? Because I’ve gotta see that at least once.” He didn’t sound repulsed or disgusted—just surprised. Still, it wasn’t the kind of memory-making he had in mind for tonight, even if he did want to experience it someday. “I was thinking of someplace a little more formal, but not *too* formal—like a dance venue. A place for all kinds of people who just want to dance or socialize. It’s kind of like a refined nightclub, but without so much drinking. And the music is more suited for partner dancing.” When Yukie mentioned a full closet, Julius stood and went to take a look. One half of it was filled with dresses. It made him pause before he glanced back over his shoulder at his partner. “You could wear a dress if you want,” he offered. “I mean, why not? If you like wearing them, this is a perfect opportunity.” He said it genuinely, wanting Yukie’s opinion. Julius knew Yukie looked stunning and could pull off just about anything. There were a few wigs in the closet as well, but with a bit of styling, Yukie’s short hair could work just fine. ------------- Shan only lifted his head and turned when he felt Haru come out as well. He tried to smile, but it came out awkward—his stomach still felt queasy. Instead, he lowered his head again and gave a small wave goodbye as Haru ran off while the adults were kissing. He wanted to go with Haru. Watching the centaur child walk away made Shan feel quietly lonely, but the feeling didn’t last long. He reminded himself that Haruhi would be with him today, and that made it easier. “See you later,” Yumro whispered to Haruhi after they parted. He stared into Haruhi’s eyes as if trying to burn the moment into his memory. Shan knew Yumro was crazy about Haruhi—it was kind of sweet, but also awkward to witness. Shan was still too young to really understand it. “We might be home late. You don’t have to wait up for us. Remember—if you need anything, just say it out loud. The minor shadows around will hear you and help. And if anything happens that requires my attention, they’ll tell me.” He leaned in and kissed Haruhi’s forehead. “Love you.” Yukie turned and walked after Haru, who was waiting for him. “You ready to learn something intense, one-on-one?” Yumro asked Haru as he took the larger bag and slung it over his shoulder as if it weighed nothing. “You see that mountain peak?” He pointed toward a green mountain—the highest point on the entire island. “We’ll start once we reach it. Now, how do you want to go? Flying or running—it’s up to you.”
