THANK YOU SO MUCHHHH, YOU'RE A BLESS -
Leon could barely breathe. Asta’s words hung in the air, raw and fragile, like a glass on the edge of a table. One wrong move, and it would shatter completely. His trembling fingers still gripped Leon’s shirt, knuckles white with fear and fury and something else buried even deeper. Leon didn’t move. He didn’t try to pull away. He just looked at him. He let Asta search his face, let him see the ache in his eyes, the truth in them. “I swear,” Leon said quietly, each word deliberate, anchored. “No more lies. Not ever.” His voice wasn’t full of the confidence people always expected from him. It wasn’t the voice of a man who had all the answers. It cracked slightly. Leon reached up, slow and gentle, brushing a strand of hair away from Asta’s damp forehead. The hospital lights were harsh overhead, but to Leon, Asta looked so strong. Because he was still here. Still fighting. Still refusing to let the weight of it all break him, even if it bent him so close to the edge. “You have every right to hate me,” he said softly. “For what happened. For what I didn’t tell you. For everything that happened.” The guilt clawed at his ribs every time he saw the cast. Every time the sterile beeping of monitors reminded him of what Asta had lost. Of how close he’d come to losing him entirely. He didn’t try to kiss him. He didn’t try to touch him more than necessary. He just stayed close enough that Asta could feel his breath, could feel the weight of his presence. Leon knew that words were only worth so much. He could say 'I love you' a hundred times, could promise forever. But none of that mattered if he couldn’t be the man Asta needed him to be now. Here. In this mess. In this broken, painful reality. And it would be hard. God, it would be hard. But Asta wasn’t a burden. He was a fragile, furious, brilliant soul who still managed to hold on, even when everything had been ripped out from under him. Leon would carry him if he had to. “You don’t have to forgive me yet,” he said, his tone steady but tender. “I’ll earn it. However long it takes.” His hand, still resting gently on the side of Asta’s head, brushed through his hair again, just once. Even if he had to crawl with him through the darkest parts of recovery. He wasn’t going anywhere. _______________________________ Absolutely! Here's the continuation of the story, only acting out Sora in third person. Fang's character is present, but his internal thoughts, feelings, and perspective are not narrated or assumed. Sora’s cheeks flared with color the moment Fang leaned in and kissed him. It wasn’t deep or long, it was brief, almost featherlight but it left him blinking up at the ceiling with his heart pounding in his chest like he’d just run a marathon. His fingers twitched in Fang’s hand, then curled tightly around it. He tried to hold back the smile tugging at the corners of his lips. Failed. “I said I’d kiss you,” he muttered under his breath, barely meeting Fang’s gaze, “Not that you could steal my thunder.” He looked away, flustered but trying hard to keep his composure, even as his ears burned. “Unbelievable,” he whispered, loud enough for Fang to hear, but too quiet to invite a response. He let his head fall back against the pillow and stared at the ceiling for a while. The rhythm of the machines around him faded into the background. All he could think about was how close Fang had gotten. How warm he still felt beside him. And how tightly Sora was holding his hand without even realizing it. It wasn’t fair, how easily Fang could disarm him. But… Sora needed it. Maybe more than he wanted to admit. Still, his mind drifted. His smile faded. His thumb absentmindedly brushed over the back of Fang’s hand. “Fang…” he said quietly, his voice losing its playful edge. He glanced over, searching for Fang’s attention, and once he had it, he looked down again—this time toward the edge of the blanket covering him. “I meant what I said earlier,” he murmured. “About Asta.” He hesitated, teeth sinking into his bottom lip. “He’s like family to me. Always has been. And I know things are complicated now. I know he is dating some supernatural being. I know it’s dangerous.” His grip on Fang’s hand tightened just a bit. “You’re probably thinking I’m reckless or selfish. But I don’t care. I think you know what having people important to you is like.” There was a pause, long and heavy. “I know you want to protect me,” he said quietly. “But you shouldn't prevent me from caring about my friend. I may not have many peoplein my life but the few I do have are precious to me.” His free hand reached over slowly, brushing away a lock of Fang’s hair before resting lightly against the side of his face. His fingers were soft, gentle. “You don’t always have to be the strong one, you know,” Sora whispered. “You don’t have to carry everything on your own.” His voice cracked just slightly, but he pressed on. “Let me protect you too, Fang. Even if it’s just little things, like your worries” He let the moment linger, then slowly pulled his hand back. He turned toward the water cup Fang had brought him earlier and finally took a small sip, grimacing as the movement pulled at his ribs. Still, he drank more, just to prove he could. The silence between them wasn’t uncomfortable, but Sora could feel the weight of things. So, naturally, he did what he always did when things got too serious. “…You’re still a terrible kisser, though.” He glanced over just enough to catch Fang’s reaction. The smug grin spread wider across his face. He was clearly teasing, trying to push away the heaviness that had settled over them. And maybe a little bit to take his mind off things. Next day... Sora and Fanghad almost fought when Sora said he wanted to see Asta. Like okay he got Fang was sensitive around everything and every one but this was just down right silly. He told Fang to go home at some point in frustration but immediately regretted it. He didn’t want Fang to leave but he also couldn’t ignore the way he was acting strange just because Sora wanted to see Asta. To comfirm with his own eyes that he was till alive. Fang had given in, in the end. But it atmosphere between them felt strange. Fang was pushing him in a wheelchair. Although he could have walked on his own. He got the feeling there was no reason to argue about such a small thing. The hospital buzzed eith life around the halls. But as they reached Asta’s room. It all seemed more quiet. Sora knocked on the door before Fang pushed the door open and wheeled Sora inside, a subtle shift seemed to ripple through the space. But when Sora entered It was like someone had cracked a window just enough to let in a bit of real air. Sora sat quietly in the wheelchair, his hands resting in his lap, bandages still visible along his forearms, the dull ache in his ribs reminding him of everything they had been through. He was tired, more than he could admit. But none of that mattered to him. All he could focus on was Asta the momenthe saw his friend. And as soon as Asta's voice broke the silence, all the tension in Sora's chest tightened and softened at once. ["Sora! You're ok! Y-your... your ok..."] He watched Asta reach for him, and without hesitation, he reached out too, their hands meeting halfway between wheelchairs and hospital bed. The grip was weak, but the emotion behind it was overwhelming with relief from both. Sora stared at him. At the bruises on his face. The cast. The sunken weariness behind his smile. It made his throat close up. He wanted to say something. Anything. But the lump in his throat just wouldn't budge. [“I-it's good to see you. I’m so glad you’re ok! I-I was s-so scared when I… when they…”] Asta didn’t finish the sentence, and Sora didn’t need him to. He felt the weight of those unsaid words. They pressed against his ribs harder than any bruises or injuries. “I know,” Sora finally whispered, voice hoarse. “Me too…” He tried to smile, but it barely reached his eyes. It had been a day since they last saw each other, but the trauma still sat between them like a third person in the room. There was no pretending everything was fine. Asta looked so... broken. Not just physically. His light was dimmed. Like someone had turned down the flame of the brightest candle. Fang had told him about Asta’s injuries but it looked so much worse. Sora blinked fast, trying not to cry. He hated crying in front of other people. Especially Asta. But damn it. From the corner of his eye, he saw Fang standing silently by the wall, arms crossed, seeming unbothered as usual. Always distant. Asta’s voice pulled Sora's attention back again. [“F-Fang...You h-helped save me… thank you.”] Sora blinked. He hadn’t expected Asta to address him. Let alone thank him. He turned slightly to glance at Fang, who looked like he didn’t know what to do with those words. [“Don’t mention it…”] Sora felt his lips twitch. Just slightly. Fang never expected a thank you from Asta’s. But he could tell, the words still touched something inside the werewolf. Sora feel it. He sat back in the wheelchair. The air was heavier here. A mix of antiseptic and raw memories that were still too fresh. There was something fragile here. Like the peace could break at any moment. Sora's fingers twitched slightly in Asta’s hand as the silence lingered. He couldn’t stop looking at him. Couldn’t ignore the way his friend looked so small in that bed, swallowed by tubes and casts and sterile sheets. He hated hospitals. He hated the beeping, the smell of disinfectant, the weight of everything left unsaid. And most of all. He hated why they were here. He shifted in his wheelchair, his jaw tightening as he glanced past Asta to the man sitting silently at his side. Leon. He hadn’t spoken since they arrived. Hadn’t moved much either. Just sat there like some silent guardian. And for some reason, that pissed Sora off. “…So?” Sora finally said, his voice quiet, but sharp. “What are you going to do about this?” Leon looked over slowly, eyes meeting Sora’s. Sora didn’t flinch. He gestured at the room with his chin. “All of this.” His voice cracked slightly. “You just gonna sit there and hope it all works out? Or do you actually have a plan, Leon?” Leon didn’t answer right away. His jaw clenched, the muscles in his neck tightening as he leaned forward slightly, resting his arms on his knees. He looked exhausted. Guilt hung off of him like a second skin. “I do have a plan,” he said, voice low but steady. “I’m staying. To helping him. Every day.” Sora’s eyes narrowed. “Yeah? And what happens with whatever you are? That you knew something could happen and still left him in the dark?” That landed. Leon’s shoulders stiffened, and he looked away for a moment, the guilt hitting him like a blow to the ribs. He had spent every single hour since the warehouse replaying his mistakes, every word he didn’t say, every moment he should’ve told Asta the truth. Leon eyes were sharp, but his voice still low laced with emotion. "We haven't talked about that yet. But he has a rough idea of me." Sora’s glare didn’t soften. Then he leaned forward as much as his own injuries would allow. “Then do better. Not because of your guilt. Not to ‘make it up.’ Do it because he needs someone who’s not gonna disappear when it gets hard.” Leon stared at him. They both sat there, anger radiating off of them in different frequencies. Sora’s sharp and hot like a blade pulled from a fire, Leon’s dull and aching like a bruise that never healed. And yet, behind all of it…Leon understood. Sora wasn’t just angry. He was scared. Just like him. “…You’re right,” Leon finally said. “I should’ve told him. Everything. Earlier. I know I failed him.” He paused. His voice dropped again. “And I’m not asking you to forgive me. I wouldn’t if I were you.” Sora’s glare wavered. Leon looked at him directly now, his gaze heavy with truth. “But I’m not walking away. And no one’s taking him from me.” Sora looked away, exhaling through his nose. He wanted to stay angry. Wanted to throw more words at Leon, make him bleed for it. But all that fire suddenly felt... useless. It wouldn’t undo what happened. Wouldn’t heal Asta. Wouldn’t fix what any of them had lost. Still, he couldn’t bring himself to say anything else. Leon sat back slightly, exhaling. His eyes moved briefly toward Fang. Woundering how the hell Fang dealt with this person . He hadn’t expected Fang to help. But he had brought Sora here and it seemed to calm Asta’s a little, so he was kinda glad. And Leon hadn’t forgotten what he did back in the warehouse either. He owed him. Even if they hadn’t said a word to each other. Still… Leon could sense the tension. He understood Sora's pain. But it stung more than he’d admit to have the blame fall only on him. But none of that mattered. Because the only person who did matter was the one in the hospital bed between them. Leon looked at Asta again, and his voice softened. Just enough. “I’m going to stay,” he said quietly. “No matter what.” Sora didn’t respond. Good only knew he resented the shift for putting his friend through this. But it was Asta’s chose in the end. And honestly maybe he himself wasn’t much better off either. And he too could have warned Asta but honestly Fang was so tight liped around all this supernatural stuff he didn’t know what he could have told him. Looking at his friend Sora said. "I suspiced something but I honestly don’t know anything. I thought about telling you but I just didn’t know what to say to make you belive me. You wouldn’t have thought I was sain if I suddenly told you your boyfriend might be more than what he seemed to be."
