Just when he felt like he was falling apart, that everything was just....too much to bear...Asta felt Leons wrap his arms around him, pulling him into a tight embrace...and for a split second...he felt safe. This embrace felt familiar. His warmth...and scent... even though Asta wasn't 100% sure who or what Leon was...he couldn't help but fall apart in his arms. He buried himself in his chest, as he cried...soaking Leon's shirt. He felt Leon's hand move along his back trying to soothe him...but doing so only made him cry more. Leon's touch was so gentle...as if he was telling him...that in this moment...it was ok to be broken and upset. It was ok to be afraid. Leon ran his fingers through his hair...and he continued to comfort him until the hospital machines stopped beeping. "i-i c-cant do this.." [“You’re going to walk again.”] His eyes widened as he heard those words. His body tensing. Asta held his breath as Leon drew close to his face...And finally...Asta looked at him. He hadn't made eye contact with Leon since he saw him transform in the warehouse. He was afraid too. [ “I don’t care what the doctors say. I don’t care how long it takes, or how hard it is. You’re going to walk again, Asta.” ] ( How can you say that....) [ “Because I’m going to help you. Every step. Every single day.”] A stray tear ran down his cheek. Asta's body was still filled with tension...his eyes filled with anguish and fear. He struggled to comprehend Leon's words. What was he saying? He was going to stay? He was going to help him? [" I’ll still be here. Not because I feel guilty. Not because I owe it to you.”] Asta's lip was quivering, and he shuttered as Leon began to brush his tears away...his touch so soft...that it startled him. ( N...no...d-dont say it..) His heart couldn't bare it. And yet...how did Leon always know...how did he know exactly what to say to him...the words Asta needed to hear... [ “But because I love you.”] More tears fell, and Asta pulled away, wanting to hide...wanting to run...but he couldn't. He barred his face into his trembling hands. "n-no you dont!" He was in denial. How could he accept this? Leon was willing to stay by his side...even tho he might just be a burden. That he might never walk again. And why should he accept this?! He was in this hospital bed...because of him! [ “I love you,” ] He wasn't worthy. He wasn't good enough...especially now! And Asta felt extremely conflicted hearing those words. Part of him happy...another part of him...furious..And how could they even repair there relationship?! How could he trust him again? Was it even possible to move forward?! [ “And whatever life looks like after this... I want to face it with you. Your happiness... it’s not separate from mine. It is mine.”] ( Stop it!!! STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT!!! YOU DON'T GET TO SAY SWEET WORDS TO ME! ) Not when his life was ruined and dreams crushed. Not when he loved him...and held so much anger towards him. Its so unfair that Leon always knew what to say. Always knew what Asta needed to hear. Always knew his weaknesses.... always knew how to get past his walls! "s-s..sst...stop.." His whispered. He tried to push Leon away...but he only continued... [ “I want to be here for all of it. The good days. The brutal ones. I don’t care.” ] "S-stop it!" [ “I’m not going anywhere.”] Asta grabbed Leon's collar with a shaky fist. His eyes finally met Leons again, but this time Asta's eyes were filled with anger, fear, and so much pain...While Leons eyes were filled with determination, love, grief, remorse and honesty. Asta searched those eyes....and saw that Leon had ment every word. He wanted to help him...he didn't want Asta to push him away... he felt guilty for what happened...and he still...loved him..dispite it all...dispite his diagnosis and the tough future they had ahead... How could he reject that? Especially when he needed help.... If he did try to do this alone, would he even be able to walk again? Asta couldn't even begin to imagine his new life...and if he didn't have Leon....then.... ( I...I hate this....I hate...that I still...love you..) "its so unfair...how you always know...what to say..." He whispered, as Asta pulled Leon's shirt, forcing there faces closer, the two of them just inches apart. ( I hate...how much..I love you...) "Don't ever lie to me again...Swear it...Swear that you'll never lie to me again..." his voice trembled as he tried to sound stern and intimidating but his gaze and tone already faltering. "I won't forgive you....I won't forgive you...if you...lie to me again...or l-leave me....." ----------------------- Fang watched Sora closely. Looking for any signs of discomfort... [“ ...y-eah”] His voice was hoarse...raspy. " You need water..." He muttered, and immediately got up to grab Sora a cup of water from across the room, he handed it to Sora, he took it and thanked him, but didnt drink it. Fang sighed at Sora's stubbornness....seeing that his mind was still somewhere else. He was still concerned about his friend Asta. Fang nudged Sora's leg, taking a seat on the bed so he was closer to him. " What is it..." Sora was incapable of truly hiding anything from Fang. [ “You helped getting him back. Just as you promised.”] He shrugged. " You sound surprised...I always keep my promises..." Fang's eyes never left Sora's... he could tell that wasnt everything. There was more to it...more wanted to say... " Is that all?... We're you worried about me?" He questioned. [ “I don’t… I don’t know how to say it right........... But it is something I’ll never forget.. Asta is like a brother to me”] Sora's gaze dropped staring at the IV in his arm. Fang followed his gaze. It honestly pissed him off that Sora was in the hospital. He had done as Sora asked...and got Asta back...but he couldn't physically heal Sora...and what about mentally? He didnt even know where to begin. How was he suppose to tell Sora that he was going to be safe ever again? He flinched feeling Sora touch his hand. Fang turned to look at Sora as the human gently brushed his fingers on his skin, before taking his hand and intertwining there fingers. Fang watched as Sora did this...and was rather entranced by how slow, gentle, and deliberate he was being. [ “Thank you,”] Fang looked up at Sora, feeling him squeez his hand. [ “You’re incredible.”] Fang felt his chest tighten...Shit....Sora was so damn cute. He wanted to be upset with him...to stand his ground and be stern....but it was proving to be rather difficult, especially when Sora was looking at him like that and blushing. " I know..." he muttered. [ “And if I weren’t hurting so much right now, I’d pull you into this bed and kiss you stupid.”] Fang rolled his eyes, missing Sora's teasing smile and flirtatious banter. Dispite having a few broken ribs and bring stuck in a hospital bed, he was kind of relieved that Sora had the engery to tease him. And yet...a peg of guilt still lingered within him. How do you heal something...that you can't touch? This was clearly not Sora's fault. If anything this was Leon's fault...or his for not being more cautious. The blame didn't fall on Asta or Sora...they were just humans. ["Are you.. okay?"] Fang titled his head to the side in confusion, why wouldn't he be ok? He wasnt the one in a hospital bed. He followed Sora's gaze, and realized that he was staring at the bandages on his shoulder that were peeking through his collar. Fang quickly adjusted his shirt, so Sora wouldn't see the bandages. Hiding them. " I'm fine. I'll heal...." He saw the look of concern on Sora's face and sighed again. With his free hand, he reached out and pinched Sora's cheek. "Stop it...you should be more worried about youself and focus on recovering," he muttered, releasing his cheek. " I don't like you being friends with Asta...He's Leon's mate, and you being associated with him got you hurt...but...we can talk about it later...drink your water and rest. I'm not going anywhere. " He leaned forward and gave Sora a quick kiss on the lips. " Since you wanted to kiss me..." He grinned, recalling the humans comment from earlier. ____________________________________ [ Next Day ] Fang leaned against the wall as Sora and Asta finally reunited. Sora had been so insistent on seeing his friend...and Fang couldn't keep denying him. So he helped Sora into a wheelchair and brought him to Asta's room for a visit. But not before explain to Sora that his friend had gotten injured and was in recovery but he himself didn't know all the details, much less his prognosis. Asta was awake but...he wasn't all there. He was a shell of himself. Stuck in bed and in a cast. However, those eyes filled with exhaustion seemed to gain a little bit of life when he saw Sora. "Sora! Your ok! Y-your...your ok.." His voice full of cheer...only to soften. Asta immediately reached out his hand and grabbed Sora's. His eyes watering. "I-its good to see you. Im so glad your ok! I-I was s-so scared when I...when they ..." Asta struggled to find the words. It was still too soon for him to talk about what happened. He wished he could hug him, but...it wasnt possible in either of there conditions. Fang crossed his arms and sighed softly, feeling a mix of emotions, and having to process his and Sora's emotions was rather draining... on top of being in a hospital that dulled his senses and recoverying from his injuries with little to no sleep... He glanced over at Leon...the cat hadn't left Asta's side...to be honest Fang was surpised that his human didnt reject him. ( its none of my business...) "F-fang." Fang turned hearing his name from a unfamiliar voice. It was coming from Asta. "You h-helped save me...thank you. " Fang was a little taken aback by Asta's words. He wasn't use to people thanking him, much less a human that wasn't his. ( I didn't have much of a choice...) He thought to himself. " Don't mention it..."
