Yukie sat in silence as Kai’s words sunk in. They were heavy, so much more heavier than he ever expected to come from him. The sudden realization that…Kai, he wanted to be the last one Yukie was with the thought alone…was breathtaking. Yukie hadn’t really believed in his feelings but hearing Kai say such a devoted thing in such a public place…it made Yukie feel a rush of warmth through his chest, his heart was pounding as the idea, the dream of being wanted by Kai was something real. Sure, Yukie could easily stop fucking clients, Yukie had already signed a new contract getting him away from that life because of his feeling for Kai. Despite Miskha’s anger at him pulling away Yukie had realized being with Kai lately, he was tiered of sleeping around…tiered of being beaten and used. All these feelings, these desires he had been feeling about Kai had pushed him to change his contract to push on going on this trip. Yukie knew that if it failed he could always go back but..he wanted so desperately to try. He had more motives to this trip than just a checkup. Yukie wanted to be checked for anything medical disease wise he could hurt Kai with. While Yukie had always been careful and gotten tested often as required by Miskha and more so himself…the idea of Kai getting hurt because of him. Well…the thought of it was to painful to deal with, he wouldn’t ever be able to look Kai in the eyes again. As the waitress returned with their drinks Yukie looked away and out the window gently taking his drink as he sipped it until she left leaving them once again alone. Looking back over at Kai Yukie watched as his hands worked the small wrapper the man only looking up at Kai’s face as his spoke. “Your own shop?” Yukie asked curiously as if confirming Kai’s desire. Looking up at Kai a deep sea of awe and happiness shined deep in Yukies eyes at Kai’s plan of owning his own shop, something Yukie knew Kai deserved so deeply. Watching Kai continue to fold the paper ever so delicately, Yukie looked at the finished product a little confused. Looking at the paper ring adorned with a small flower on top Yukie sat amazed at how Kai was able to make such a thing and before he could ask how or why a ring, he felt Kai gently take his hand. Looking down in confusion he looked up at Kai only to feel the paper ring slid over his ring finger. Yukie just blushed bright red as he felt Kai let his hand go, the feeling of the paper ring feeling so heavy now on his hand. Kai wanted him. He said he really wanted Yukie to belong to him. Swallowing a little as Kai chatted on about it fitting right and it being awhile since he made one Yukie was a little absent minded. Yukie he could only feel his heart pounding like a drum in his chest, the soft warm glow from earlier was now burning deeper inside something he had never felt before. Gently touching the ring Yukie was treating it like it was glass the touch being more delicate than normal. Looking down at his hand and the ring Yukie was in a sort of state of shock, as he sat there he didn’t even notice the hot tears stinging his eyes as he was almost crying. Getting up Yukie muttered about needing the bathroom and excused himself as he fought to hold back tears. Once away and out of sight he couldn’t help the rush of tears as he hid in the stall clutching the ring so close to his body. God he wanted all of this. To be with Kai forever to…to dream of a wedding and a long life with him. How could he though…how could…he. The thought of leaving his old life was so terrifying…the feeling of being abandoned if he let Kai in was almost to much to bare. Curling up a little into himself Yukie tried to calm the panic in his mind his breathing a little fast as he stared at the ring his hand shaking. The only thing he could think was how Miskha had been right about every man Yukie had been with how they had all thrown him away once they got bored…(paid to unknowingly by Yukie) each and every time they left him crawling back to his boss in agony. Standing there, full on in a panic attack Yukie backed himself into a stall corner as he tried to breathe his body shaking only to be suddenly stopped by the ringing on his phone. Looking down at the phone Yukie shakily unlocked it the wall of texts asking him if Kai had bailed yet or if he had changed his mind. Looking at the wall of text that ranged from threats of anger to promises of love Yukie could only exit out his hand still shaking as he moved and opened Kai’s. “….Kai. He’s…not like that.” Yukie whispered to himself as he took a deep breath trying to steady himself as he started to ground himself the man having learned how to deal with panic attacks from early on in his line of business. Scrolling through the messages Yukie started to calm down. The text full of kindness and acceptance spanning for months. Kai never had to take him in…he offered, he texted him so often even when Yukie ignored him. He was there. Kai wanted to be there. Calming down more as he put his phone away Yukie gently took the ring off tucking it safely into his phone case before mentally dusting himself off. Getting up he walked out of the stall and looked at the mirror his eyes red and puffy as he took some cold water from the sink and washed his face and dried it making sure he was presentable and calm before fully leaving the bathroom. Once back at the table he slid into his seat noticing the food had been placed making him feel guilty for how long he had been gone. ”Sorry, I just needed a minute.” Yukie explained as he poked at his food. “…I…don’t want to talk about it here. To many people.” Yukie admitted as he ate his food and sat in silence the rest of the time only making painful small talk until they were done. Once Kai paid and they were back outside Yukie handed Kai his helmet and put his own on before turning and gently made sure Kai’s was on properly. Getting on Yukie waited till Kai was snuggled against him again before starting the hug making him feel rather comfortable and secure. The next two hours was Yukie point out places he had visited and interesting things to see and do. Between that and some basic light talk he eventually quieted down as they got closer the hospital appearing as Yukie pulled into the back for parking and parked off to the side. Sitting still for a moment Yukie took his helmet off watching as Kai took off his before he put them away and stood awkwardly to the side. Yukie had wanted to smooth things out, he wanted to explain his absence and how he looked coming back. He wanted to explain his silence and his over tourist explanations that forced away any chance to speak. Looking away Yukie just stood before pulling out a cigarette and lighting it up. ”…I…didn’t feel comfortable crying, it was about what you said…back there at the table. So I left to cry, but…I…got worse on some things…I didn’t want you to see me going into in a panic attack. So I hid until I was better and grounded.” Yukie explained as walked a bit farther away from Kai giving them a good bit of space between them. “…My life…it’s changing a lot…I get scared of all the changing sometimes. The thought of us…of there being an us……is terrifying for me at times.” Yukie explained his voice shaking yet very gentle as he spoke. Taking a deep breath to calm his voice and himself Yukie let the smoke burn through him a bit longer in an almost ritualistic calming way as he finally exhaled. ”I.….I don’t want to get hurt. I don’t want to fall in love with you only to be thrown away when you get sick of me.” Yukie said as his voice trembled the man feeling so exposed in his brutal honesty as he dropped the cigarette and crushed it out with his foot before looking up, finally meeting Kai’s eyes.

“Fine, I’ll practice my throwing skill. The better question is who will be getting a face full of glitter?” Yukie asked his tone just as serious as he fought back a smirk dancing on the corners of his lips. “I want us to choose who’s most deserving of this honor. I don’t want to leave being blessed by my creation up to chance.” Yukie added as he mentioned to his adorable creation that the shop owners just now were in full gloves and aprons putting in a beautifully adorned box. ”I want to throw it at Yumro.” Yukie stated as he turned back to Julius smirked at the idea of dosing Yumro in glitter. “Do you have a better choice?” Yukie asked Julius teasingly wanting to know who Julius thought should receive his blessing of glitter and marriage. ————— “He seems happy.” Haru mumbled to Shan after Yumro left as he moved out from under the covers to grab some blankets and pillows. Moving them around he worked for a bit making a better pillow nest for his head and body before flopping back down with a deep sigh. “I’m surprised he didn’t offer a forehead kiss and warm milk.” Haru mumbled with a yawn finding the sudden shift of love and kindness a deep balm over an old wound he thought had long been healed. “It’s nice.” Haru mumbled sleepily as he snuggled into a pillow looking up at the stars as he tried to fight sleep which was almost impossible being so warm and cozy. “I always wondered if fathers were always like that? You know.” Haru added as he looked over at Shan. ————- “oh I defiantly need you to make that last stop. As for asking, I won’t ask nicely…I want dramatic bridal carrying~” Haruhi teased with a small chuckle as he stretched out his legs having become quite relaxed in his more human form that he had taken when they had all come inside. Placing the bookmark in his book he set it down along with his reading glasses and looked at Yumro. Stretching his body out a little more Haruhi tossed the blanket off of his body and onto the floor the devious smirk still on his lips as he looked at Yumro. “Might need to hang the do not disturb sign.” Haruhi teased with a laugh as he was glad to spent some alone time with Yumro again.
