Yukie could only break out laughing at Kai’s words. They were so sweet, so reassuring yet they held no promises of instant change in their life. No did his words hold a deep promise of a life or would that he knew suddenly changing. He didn’t even argue like all the others that this time was different that he was different from all the men Yukie knew. There was just a caress. One full of love followed by a gentle hand taking his, filled with an unspoken amount of understanding. In these acts Yukie could understand the patience from Kai that was being given for yukie to figure things out. Nothing in this moment felt rushed, nothing felt a deep need for change. There was just support, an offer of something Yukie could choose to want in the future. ”…I’ve never been on a real date. I mean…I’ve gone places and been a “date” for my clients” Yukie admitted ever so softly as he held Kai’s hand and lead him to the back entrance. Once at the door he put in the code something that would raise any eyebrows as the secure door unlatched. “I’m kinda…a frequent flyer here, you know with my line of work and such.” Yukie admitted as he continued leading the way his words being a harsh truth on how often he came here as the deeper they went into the hospital , it showed with all the security codes he knew. Going deeper in he lead them down to an office off in its own secluded wing. Once in Yukie waved at the secretary who shook her head at how he looked and quickly unlocked the door, allowing them both to just walk back to a waiting room. Going towards a back room Yukie let himself in and turned on the lights the room sterile and already prepped as he mentioned for Kai to sit on a chair beside him. Pulling off his jacket he handed it to Kai before stripping down to his underwear and downed a gown from under the cupboard Yukie clearly comfortable in this room and environment with how often he had been here. Within minutes after dressing the door opened and a middle aged man walked in. ”Marcy let me know you looked like absolute shit, she’s betting at least a broken rib or concussion.” The doctor said his tone amused and friendly as he walked in and washed his hands not even looking over at Yukie. “Let me guess body repairs and blood tests? The usual?” The doctors asked with a dry laugh as he dried his hands and turned to Yukie only to stop in his tracks, his tone shifting as he looked at the mess before him and then he glanced at Kai the unknown stranger in the room. “Boss and guardians too busy today?” The doctor asked casually as he leaned against the counter taking in Yukies state and at the same time assessing Kai his eyebrow raising as if asking if Yukie could speak freely with Kai around. ”It’s fine, Ari. He knows, he’s…well…you’re free to speak as usual.” Yukie reassured the doctor stopping at saying boyfriend since he wasn’t sure Kai was comfortable with being called thay yet or really what they would even refer to each other as. Ari nodded hesitantly but looked between the two for a moment before he relaxed again and let out an annoyed sighed walking over to instantly inspecting the horrible bruising. ”Next time, at least let me know you have someone other than the usual goons. You all have my number for after hours, I can’t keep helping if you don’t tell me who’s safe and who isn’t! You’re going to get me in trouble doing this crap.” Ari lightly scolded as he continued on Yukies checkup before he moved the curtain close for privacy. Once closed Yukie fully stripped the gown off so Ari could inspect the rest of him. After a few minutes there was soft murmured questions on pain and discomfort the scores being a bit higher than Ari liked. Yukie at times could be heard groaning or letting out small sounds of pain as he was poked and inspected. After that there was the ask of how many partners for the months since last cistern followed by the types of drugs and if he was smoking still followed by the doctors annoyance and scolding at the smoking. Writing everything down Ari pulled back the curtain walking to the closet leaving Yukie sitting in front of Kai, Yukie looking like he had been ran through an emotional wringer as Ari came back from his supply closet and mentioned for Yukie to lay back.After inspecting there wasn’t any horrible internal trauma that needed surgery he set down his tools on the small sterile stand and let out a deep annoyed sigh. ”I don’t need to tell you how bad of shape you’re in. You’ve got busted ribs…hairline fractures all over not to mention internal bruising and external bruising. You’re malnourished and if I’m guessing right you haven’t been sleeping much.” Ari stated his voice cold as if he had had these talks to often with Yukie. ”You’re using heavier drugs to cope again…I bet if I run a test you won’t pass for shit and be in dangerous levels.” Ari snapped making Yukie flinch a little as he sighed and ran a hand over his face taking a moment to calm down at the notice of Yukie’s flinch. ”Yukie….look, brutal honesty you keep this up…I’ll give your health a year, six months if you keep getting the shit beat out of you like this. You can’t keep diving off the deep end expecting….any of my patchwork to work. I can’t keep fixing you if you don’t try to help yourself in some ways. All of this…destruction…this self inflicted pain…it won’t make Miskha- it..it will only get better if you stop.” Ari said gently as he looked at Yukie so much concern and worry in his eyes as he watched the reality of his works sinking deeply into Yukie’s soul. “Trust me, please…don’t ignore my advice. You can leave all of this…I have friends who can help if you need a place to hide.” Ari said every so softly as he glanced at Kai a flash of fear in his eyes, he was unsure if he should offer the help with a witness. Ari was noticeably uneasy, not knowing if Kai would report Yukie back to his boss for their talk but well Yukie was in such bad shape he had to take the chance to offer an escape. Yukie in his many years had come here before. He came often hurt, overdosed, beaten and bruised. Hell he had even seen Yukie at his worse when all he wanted was pills pushing himself towards death. Course Mishka had been with him and kept him on a tight leash so Ari could never really help past basic care and drugs to help Yukie from ending in an early grave to help Yukie cope with the world he was trapped in. This trip itself was a shock to Ari…he had expected the usual disease test many a few fractures. Ari had never seen Yukie so beaten and hiding his pain. Ari had made it his mission to always tried to help those who came in like Yukie. He had over the years learned to be very careful, due to once making the mistake of speaking to freely to a client. His error had caused a horrible punishment for the client trying to escape Miskhas men through medical help. In the end it had taken years of strict supervision before he was trusted again with any of Miskha’s workers. Yukie had always had a guardian or Miskha…for him to be alone out of their grip was a miracle. ”Ari, it’s okay…it’s really okay. Kai…he’s…he’s my safety. I’m not staying with Miskha anymore.” Yukie explained as he looked to Kai before getting off the table and moving to sit beside him. Gently taking Kai’s hand Yukie held it close in support before he continued to speak. ”Ari, I’m only working for a year, one final year before I can leave Miskha. I want to change…I’m making an exit plan and it’s why…Miskha or the guardians aren’t here with me. I came here because I need to have a full blood panel done…I know I’ve been safe but I’ve done so much stuff that could put Kai at risk. I want a life with him.” Yukie explained as he looked at Kai a little embarrassed to admit that he wanted to do more with him, and that he had done this trip to help have a life alongside Kai. ”I also…need pain medicine…and the drugs we are usually kept on…to help detox and to help me sleep. I came to you because if Miskha knew I was trying to get clean…I…I would get worse than I already am.” Yukie explained as he gently ran his thumb over Kai’s hand feeling so nervous demanding such things from Ari. “No.” Ari said his voice cracking in pain as he moved away and busied himself to get ready to take blood samples. Looking down at his supplies Ari’s breathing turned a little deep as he steadied himself feeling so much pain at Yukies request. Looking back up, he finally looked over at the two before taking a deep shaky breath. “Fuck…..you can’t…ask for that stuff…” Ari said his voice torn as he weighed his options fully, shaking his head in disbelief over what he knew he could do and what he should do Ari only patted the bed in response so he could take Yukies blood samples. Yukie letting go of Kai’s hand walked over and sat on the bed wincing as his blood was drawn. “I’ll help you. I’ll give it to your….Kai so Miskha never knows I’m helping you….but if you don’t come back in a year to see me completely clean…I’ll never see you again. I’ll wash my hands of you, I can’t watch you kill yourself anymore with this life your choosing, you keep coming in hurt like this…I can’t keep begging you to live.” Ari said his voice firm and an unnatural cold, one filled with the pain of a man who had lost so many clients like Yukie before. The silence after Ari’s words hang heavy in the air as he took a set the six vials of blood. Putting them into a tray he picked it up to take to the nurse for testing. “You can get dressed, I’ll have your stuff ready once you’re finished and you are ready to leave and I’ll text you your results later tonight.” Ari said as he looked at the two again feeling just a small sliver of hope as a small sigh of sadness escaping his lips the doctor leaving them alone. Yukie sat waiting until Ari came back carrying some medical supplies in a basket and a large black bag. Setting the black bag down at Kai’s feet he turned back to Yukie and bandaged his broken ribs so they would heal easier. After that he fixed Yukie’s worst wounds and after a few minutes cleaned up his supplies and put them away before turning to Kai setting down a thick folded bunch of papers in his lap. “Everything you need for each medicine is written down. You keep him on this routine he will get better….” Ari stated as he pulled a small bag out of his pocket and handed it to Yukie who by now had finished dressing. “You’ll feel a bit off. Trade off on driving for a bit. Make sure to eat.” Ari added as he looked at Yukie before giving him a hug Yukie returning it with a deepened thanks as he watched Ari leave and turned back to Kai before walking to the sink and taking the medicine the pills giving him an eventual release from all of his aches and pains. Taking his jacket Yukie took Kai’s hand and lead him back out of the building and to his bike before holding out the keys to him.
