Kaito watched Asher for a long moment after that—after the quiet honesty of I’d actually sleep better. He didn’t miss the way Asher lingered in the doorway, how his attention never really left him even when he gave space. It was… protective in a way that didn’t demand anything back. “I’m sure,” Kaito said at last, steady. “I wouldn’t say yes if I wasn’t.” His wolf stirred, pleased. He guards what is his. Let him. You kind of accept this way too easy for me to get used to the idea. The idea of sharing the space didn’t unsettle him the way he’d expected. If anything, the room felt quieter with Asher in it—like the walls had finally found their proper shape. Kaito set his bag down, taking a slow look around, grounding himself in the reality of it. This wasn’t a symbolic gesture or a leap into something fragile. By the time Asher mentioned dinner, Kaito realized he actually was hungry—bone-deep, the kind of hunger that came from too much change and too little rest. He followed Asher into the shared kitchen, senses opening instinctively as they crossed into another pack space. Logan was there already, and beside him—Missy. Kaito took her in with a mage’s eye and a wolf’s instinct. Nervous energy. Quick smiles. Hands that didn’t quite know where to rest. She wasn’t weak—just new. Still adjusting to the gravity of the place she’d stepped into. When Logan introduced him, Kaito inclined his head in greeting, respectful but not deferential. “It’s good to finally meet you,” he said to Missy, voice even. Her relief was immediate. Genuine. As they sat down, Kaito noted—without comment—how Asher chose the seat beside him without hesitation, how his presence was a constant, steady heat at Kaito’s side. When their arms brushed, there was no spark of panic. Just awareness. Familiarity blooming faster than logic said it should. Dinner unfolded easily enough. Missy talked. Logan listened. Asher observed, quieter than before, but relaxed in a way Kaito hadn’t seen yet. Kaito found himself appreciating the normalcy of it—the clink of cutlery, the low hum of conversation, the subtle way Logan kept Missy grounded when her nerves got the better of her. It was sweet how they were acting with one another. The view made him wonder if Asher would be like that too since they were mates and that made him blush. For now, though, he let himself sit at the table. Let himself belong to the moment. When his knee brushed Asher’s under the table, Kaito didn’t pull away. He glanced sideways instead, meeting Asher’s gaze briefly. His heart started beating like crazy but tried to ignore it and keep eating in silence, even though his face was flustered. After the dinner they head back to the dorms area as the night was already upon them. “Hey, Asher,” Kaito said quietly into the dim. “…Thank you. For today. For not treating me like I’d break.” he smiled shortly before entering their room. Kaito moved to his bag taking some change clothes first. "I'll go first in the shower" he said quickly, geting in the bathroom, closing the door behind him as he took a deep breath and sigh, before hopping in the shower.

Alistair could hardly move as a group of priests surrounded him, and to his disappointment, none of them were Alexander. He could see and feel all their threads, but the red threads of hatred were extremely unbearable. ( They...h-hate me..) There hatred filtered into him without his concent, quickly consuming his mind and body. It felt like boiling hot water was being dumped on him. ( Kill me...please just kill me. ) Tears filled his eyes, he was just about to loose consciousness when he saw a familiar glow push through the crowd of threads. [ “Alistair,” ] His body tensed hearing his name...that voice...Alexander? He couldn't make out what he was saying, but it was clear that the young priest was arguing with his peers. He felt a hand on his chest, it helped lift some of the pressure from his lungs, giving him a moment to breath better. A temporary comfort, he struggled to take deep breaths, but this air was toxic to him. [ “You idiot,” ] Was that comment directed at him? He glanced up at Alexander,confused. Were those tears in his eyes? [ “You said you were free.”] He was....he had been ..until Cain cursed him. While Alexander's light shielded him temporarily, it couldn't stop the damage inflicted prior to his arrival. So now Alistair found himself coughing up blood, and wheezing. The group of priests drew there weapons, ready to kill him, but to his suprise, Alexander stood in their way. [ “Stop,”] Was he insane? Alistair tried to grab Alexander's arm, but when he tried to talk, no words came out, only more blood. ( Damn it..stop it! Let them kill me!) [ “Alexander, move away, the demon is beyond the barrier. He is contaminating sacred ground.”] ( sacred ground...my ass...) [ “He’s dying, can’t you feel it? There’s no aggression. No resistance. He didn’t come here to attack.”] Alistair stared up at Alexander with blurry vision. He couldn't understand. Couldn't fathomtheom the reason why he was trying so hard to protect him. To save him. More arguing followed, and he could only make out bits and pieces of it. Dispite the fact that he was placing himself in danger Alexander didnt budge. [“You came back,” ] There's eyes met, and Alistair couldn't make out, let alone comprehend the look on Alexander’s face. What was he doing? Why was he here? Why put himself in danger for his sake?! [ “You chose to walk. I’m here, I won’t let them hurt you.”] Honestly he wished they would. He briefly lost consciousness, only to wake up a few minutes later with a arm around his shoulder and waist. Somehow, Alexander had managed to convince the priests to spare him... They were almost completely down the mountain now. Alistair stumbled, before suddenly shoving Alexander off of him. He stood his ground, glaring at the blonde and rubbing the blood from his lips, his eyes glowing red. " Y-you...idiot. " He panted, trying to talk. " I wa-aah...wanted them..ha..t-to kill me!" Blood pooled in his mouth, causing him to spit. But that look of hatred suddenly shifted into something else once Alister realized that all those emotions he had been bombarded with...all those threads and colors and feelings...were no where to be seen or felt. Alexander had no threads...he was a void...and the silent! The pure silence caused tears to suddenly stream down his face life never ending rain. He suddenly grabbed Alexander, without thinking, placing a trembling hand on each cheek, pulling him closer and pressing his forehead against his...as he silently cried, unable to hide or contain the joy and peace he was suddenly feeling. The silence...was beautiful. " its quite.......peaceful..." He whispered. Not wanting to pull away. Alexander immediately becoming an anchor for him. Any longer and Alistair would of gone mad. " Don't make me go back out there... I can't take it..." He pleaded. No doubt confusing Alexander.
