"K..ai---" "Yo! Kai!" Kai was pulled out of his thoughts hearing his name. "What the hell man...you good?" He hid behind a smile. "Yeah..sorry...what did you need?" "The wrench." "Right..." He dung into a tool box, finding a wrench and handing it over to Mike. The two of them replacing a tire together. "Why you spacing out?" He was thinking about this morning. How he woke up alone with Yukie no where to be found. No message...no note...but his spare key was gone. So....where ever he went...he was going to come back...right? He couldn't help but wondered where he went...especially when he was so beat up and exhausted. He needed to rest. He needed to stop being an escort. "It's nothing..." *************************** After work Kai grabbed a quick meal before going to class. Night classes weren't easy but it was the only time that worked for him, especially if he wanted to keep working a saving money. 7pm-10pm he attended trade school. He was mostly done with his academic classes, now it was mostly learning the basics of mechanics and the ins and outs of machinery. He sat at a desk, and started flipping through a borrowed textbook. He understood the ins and outs of most cars...however foreign cars were a pain and he hated learning about electric cars since they required alot of testing and computer engineering. If he was studying to be a computer engineer, then hed be a freaking computer engineer! Why did electric cars have to be so complicated! Class went by slowly and Kai found himself dozing off once or twice. A mix between sheer boredom and being tired. ( I'm gonna have to review this lesson later...I'm not retaining anything..) He thought to himself. He checked his phone...no messages... (Figures...) A few more minutes passed before he was dismissed from class. He quickly signed out his textbook, promising his instructor that he'd return it next class. He barly took any notes so he would need to do a cram session before the next class. When he finally walked out of the building he let out a sigh that he didnt know he had. He stood at the bus stop, taking a seat. His bag tossed over one shoulder. He was frustrated.... ( Fuck it...) He doubted Yukie would even be at his apartment let alone waiting for him...perhaps a small part of him didnt want to go home...cause he knew he wouldn't be there. So he got up and started walking. He headed to the one place that made him feel good. His one true escape... a home away from home. ******************************* "Hey Kai. Long time no see. " "Hey...can I get my usual room. 2 hours." "Sure... I never have to worry about you. You're Mr. Shins favorite. " Kai handed the man 40 bucks. "I appreciate it. Is he in today ?" "No...but I'll let him know you stopped by. You should come more often. I'm sure he'd love to see you. " "As soon as I graduate...I'll come more often. "He smiled before disappearing down the hallway and entering room 202. Music Break- was a place he often escaped to when needed to play. He came across the building his first year in middle school and quickly became friends with the owner, Mr. Shin who was exceptionally skilled at playing musical instruments. Thats how he got into playing the drums. Though no one knew he could...not his coworkers, Yue ..let alone his mom. It was his secret skill. A hidden talent. At Mr Shin was like the dad he never had. The parent he always wanted. Music Break was a place that allowed people to rent out rooms to play musical instruments. They had a wide verity and even offered lessons for certain instruments. But that was just the first floor. The second floor had karaoke while you third floor was a vinyl café. This place was truly remarkable..and it was true to its name. He still remembered rushing over to this place after school so Mr. Shin could teach him how to play the drums and together they'd listen to old vinyl records. Kai grabbed some headphones, picked up some drums sticks and sat himself in front of a very shiny and sleek drum set...he took a deep breath before letting out all his emotions and frustration ...through the sound of music. He banged on the drums so fast and hard, effortlessly moving all around the set, creating music that was both raw, loud, and truthful. All while making a rhythm that made you want to bop your head. This wasn't a song he knew...it was just him freestyle....but for a moment...he felt free. *********************************** Kai was finally home. He entered his apartment around 1230am, and saying that he was exhausted was a understatement. He locked the door behind him and tossed his bag on the floor. He needed to shower but God was he tired. He headed straight for his bedroom, but to his suprise there was already someone in his bed. Kai felt his heart skip a beat in that very moment. Yue...was here? All of a sudden...he was happy. How long had he been here? (He really...came back...) ******************** ["I see….do they care about me in a you know friendship way? Or the creepy I stare into your window way?” ] Sho grinned. "Who's to say..." he teased. He watched as Harhi wrapped his hand. He did an exceptional job for someone who was still a med student. His eyes followed the boy as he began to clean up and put the materials away. He couldn't help but notice the slight trembling in his fingers. Was that caused by the accident? Or just a nervous tick he had? [ “You can go now if you want that’s all you needed. Also….thanks for you know not killing me.”] Sho was already at the door. He should of never been here in the first place. He smiled a little hearing the slight playfulness in the red heads voice. He was a good kid.... ( Makes sense....) He understood now why Sett kept his distance. Haruhi had the ability to heal...and was naive and kindhearted. A bad combination in there line of work. He had the potential to do good in the world...The complete opposite of them. He was just about to leave until he heard a loud crash radiating down the hall, causing his entire body to tense. ( What the hell!) He ran down the hall to where the sound came from, only to find Haruhi passed out in the bathroom, medical supplies and towels scattered. The most concerning part however, was the blood coming from his bed. ( You gotta be fucking kidding me!) " Hey!" Sho tapped his cheek, trying to see if he was responsive. Haruhi wasn't. Even when he saw Haruhis eyes futter open, he wasnt responded to him at all. ( He's out cold...) Sho grabbed a handful of towels and placed them on Haruhi's gash. He was no doctor and with most of the local clinics closed, he would need to take him to the emergency room. " Your killing me kid..." He muttered. Picking Haruhi up and tossing him over his shoulder. Not caring if he got blood on him. ************************* "According to the doctors, he passed out due to exhaustion...they did a MRI and there were no signs of brain damage. But he hit the sink pretty hard, he needed stitches. Wouldn't be surprised if he had a concussion. " Sho found himself standing outside the hospital parking lot. It was 4 in the morning and rather quiet. Sett was here. Leaning aginest his motorcycle and smoking a cigarette as he filled him in on tonight's events. How he followed Haruhi into the Red Light District. How he got into a fight...took the boy home...only for him to patch him up and in the process end up getting hurt and put in a hospital. Sett stared at the building, wondering which room Haruhi was in, but he wouldn't dare go inside. "Sir...?" Sett glanced over at Sho. "I'm not mad...." he muttered. "You did good.." "Okay..but should you be this close? " He shook his head. Taking a hit of his cigarette. He found it interesting that Sho had taken him to the same hospital Haruhi was taken to when he was jumped. Back when they were in high-school and dating....a time when he thought he was happy...He stood outside the hospital for hours trying to build up the courage to face him....but...he couldn't even walk inside the building. Years later...here he was...in the same place....same predicament...Sho could of told him this all over the phone and yet...here he was. He knew he had to stay away....but this was as close to Haruhi as he could get. As close as he would get. "I'll leave soon...did you take care of the bill?" "Yes sir... The doctors want to keep him here for a day or two to make sure he recovers properly. " He nodded. " Deliver some flowers....and strawberry cake. Do all that 'get well' bullshit." Sho rolled his eyes. Grinning. " Should I get him balloons too?" Sett blinked. "I don't know. Do People still do that?" Sett wasn't the romantic type, but Sho found it funny how he was always going out of his way to do something nice for Haruhi. He rarely ever did anything nice for anyone... " Of course..." "Are you fucking with me?" Sett muttered, glaring at him. Sho only chuckled. "Sort of...."
