Sora stayed by Fang's side for a few minutes longer, watching the rise and fall of his chest. The air felt warmer here, quieter. Despite the way Fang usually filled a room with his presence, like a storm barely restrained under calm skies, when he slept... he just looked tired. Vulnerable, even. The towel still clung to Sora’s skin, cool now against the air, but he didn’t move yet. He just sat with him. Eventually, Sora stood and pulled the covers a little higher over Fang's shoulders, then bent briefly to press a soft kiss to the edge of his hairline. “I’ll let you rest,” he whispered, almost more to himself than to Fang. Padding softly out of the bedroom, Sora grabbed his clothes and got dressed, tugging on a simple T-shirt and jeans. His hair was still damp, so he towel-dried it quickly in the bathroom, then made his way into the kitchen. The breakfast Fang had brought was cold, but he didn’t mind. He reheated what he could, quietly moving through the space so as not to wake the sleeping werewolf down the hall. He ate slowly at the table, occasionally glancing at the clock. Seven hours left until his exam. His textbooks were already stacked on the counter, a few notecards tucked between the pages. Sora pulled them over and started reviewing, taking slow bites between readings. His focus wavered at first. His thoughts kept drifting back to Fang, to what he’d said, and how much he’d revealed. He hadn't meant to say so much... and yet he didn’t regret it. Not anymore. Fang wasn’t just anyone. He was someone who listened. The morning passed steadily. The sunlight shifted across the kitchen floor, the city outside coming to life in muted sounds. Sora didn’t leave the kitchen except to refill his glass or check his notes against the textbook. He stayed in that quiet bubble, letting the steady rhythm of study settle his nerves. It was only when the clock edged closer to 1:10 PM that he finally stood. Time to go. He washed his plate and glass quietly, dried them, and placed them back in their spots. Then he moved through the apartment softly, like the walls themselves were holding their breath. Sora stepped back into the bedroom. Fang was still lying there, curled slightly toward the spot where Sora had sat earlier. He looked peaceful now in a way Sora rarely saw. The tension always behind his eyes, the edge in his posture was gone. Sora walked over and knelt beside the bed, resting a hand gently against Fang’s cheek. He leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to the corner of his mouth, barely more than a brush of skin. "Hey..." he murmured. "I’ve got to go soon." His voice was low, careful, like waking someone from a dream you didn’t want to pull them too far from. His thumb brushed lightly along Fang’s jaw as he waited for a reaction, staying close but not rushing. Just giving Fang a moment to rise from whatever calm place he'd finally found. Sora smiled faintly. "You can sleep some more, if you want to. I can set a spare key out for you to use" he offered. Not really realizing what he had just done. He’d never given anyone a key to his apartment. Not even Asta. Sora liked to keep his place as his own little sanctuary. But if it was Fang.. if it was him Sora didn't have any trouble sharing. --------------------- Leon stirred at the noise. A muffled thump, a groan, and the panicked rustle of limbs. His senses, sharper than most, jolted him awake almost instantly. He blinked once, letting the blur clear from his eyes, and turned toward the sound. There, sprawled on the floor in a clumsy, half-tangled mess of sheets and limbs, was Asta. Leon didn’t move right away. He just watched in suprise. The human was muttering something frantic, voice strained and desperate, trying to stand upright without wincing too hard. His hair was wild, sticking out in tufts, his skin still carrying the faint flush of sleep and last night’s lingering marks. A huff of amusement escaped Leon before he could stop it. He smothered the rest behind the back of his hand, hiding his grin. His body ached in places too. But it was a good kind of ache. One that reminded him exactly how many times he had pleasured Asta, held him, made him fall apart. The sheets beside him were still warm. He’d cleaned Asta up after he passed out, tucked him into fresh linens, and stayed there watching his face go slack in sleep. He had fall asleep beside him while watching him. Something about the way Asta curled toward him, instinctively, even unconscious, had pinned him in place and made the shifters heart swell with love. Leon finally rose, slow and smooth, like a panther stretching after a nap. He padded over silently, crouching beside him without warning. “You’re gonna sprain something if you keep moving like that,” he said, voice thick with sleep and amusement, hair tousled and falling slightly over his brow. He reached out and brushed his fingers along Asta’s jaw. “Relax. I’m not letting you run out of here looking like a baby deer on ice.” He pulled a hoodie from the closet. Leon's hoodie, although practically swallowed Asta whole. “Here,” he offered gently. “Might as well be comfortable and smell like me.” Asta stammered something in return, but Leon didn’t press him for clarity. He just watched him, quiet, gaze soft with something far deeper than amusement now. The way Asta was so undone by him and how open he’d been the night before, it humbled Leon more than he knew how to say. He wanted to wrap him up. In his arms. In his scent. Instead, he stood, grabbing the nearest pair of sweatpants and tugging them on lazily. He glanced at Asta, who was clearly still struggling between urgency and soreness, and sighed with a crooked grin. Leon leaned down, slid an arm around Asta’s waist, and lifted him effortlessly. Not carrying him this time, but steadying him. “You’ll make it,” Leon murmured close to his ear. “Just breathe. I’ll drive you if I have to.” He didn’t say what he wanted to: Don’t go. Stay a little longer. Let me keep you here, safe, where no one else can touch you. But instead, he helped Asta to the chair beside the bed, crouched again to help him with his shoes, fingers brushing his ankle before pulling back. Leon stood tall and reached for his phone off the nightstand, checking the time and then glancing down at the human in his hoodie. “Next time,” he said with a smirk, “I’ll try not to ruin your legs the day before exams.” He winked. But the heat in his gaze didn’t lie. Behind the teasing, he was watching Asta like he meant something more. Like he was already his. Leon didn’t own a car. Most of the time he walked, or took public transit when needed. It suited him just fine. But today wasn’t a normal day. Today, Asta was hobbling around sore and half-dressed, clearly trying to survive a chaotic morning after a night that had… well, happened multiple times. And Leon wasn’t about to let him show up late or in worse shape than he already was. So, without hesitation, Leon headed out into the hallway and knocked twice on the neighbor’s door. ----------------------- Mr. Kwan. An older gentleman who rarely left his apartment but owned a surprisingly pristine sedan he let sit idle most days. The door creaked open after a minute. Kwan squinted through the crack, eyeing Leon with the suspicion of a man who’d lived in the city too long. “I need a favor,” Leon said simply. “Can I borrow your car for an hour?” Kwan sniffed. “What’s the occasion? You don’t usually ask.” Leon’s mouth pulled into the faintest of smirks. “Boyfriend’s got an exam. I plan to make sure he doesn’t fail out of sheer bad luck.” That made Kwan raise a bushy brow. But he tossed Leon the keys anyway without further comment. “Don’t scratch it.” “I won’t,” Leon said, already turning away. -------------------- Back inside the apartment, Asta was dressed. But still moving slow. Leon stepped in, tossed the keys in the air, caught them with one hand, and motioned toward the door. “Let’s go. We’ve got just enough time.” Leon walked over and held the door open with one hand while guiding Asta with the other. Downstairs, the car waited, gleaming quietly in the morning sun. Leon helped Asta into the passenger seat carefully, making sure he was comfortable, buckled, and sitting in a position that wouldn’t stress his back any more than necessary. He slid into the driver’s side, adjusted the mirrors, and pulled into the street with the kind of ease that suggested he had driven before.. just not recently. They rode mostly in silence at first, city blocks sliding by in a blur. The mid-afternoon traffic was light, and Leon cut through it with precision. Every so often, he glanced at Asta from the corner of his eye. The hoodie was too big on him, sleeves swallowing his hands, the collar stretched slightly down one shoulder. His hoodie. Leon liked the sight more than he wanted to admit. As they pulled up to the campus gates, Leon slowed to a stop and parked just briefly by the sidewalk. He turned in his seat. “You’ll make it with five minutes to spare.” His voice was warm, but steady. He waited until Asta had stepped out and disappeared into the building before leaning back in the seat with a quiet exhale. Only then did he realize his hand was still curled around the warmth Asta had left in the passenger seat. And he smiled. Just slightly. @Sosuke0549
