Connor was so absorbed in his own anger that he didn't really notice the hands that reached to grab his shirt. He still wasn't over the harsh, yet very true statement, about the peculiar way in which he chose to apologize, when he found himself very, very close to the other's face. Well, it was only fair to expect to be yelled at in return after the shower of shouts he had just brought down on his fated. Still, Connor found himself flinching at the harsh tone that was used against him. "When the hell that I call you that?!" he protests. Many, many times in your head his new and unwanted friend reminded him. Well, that might have been true, but he couldn't recall himself using that name to address the other. In fact, he couldn't recall himself using any names to address him. At most, he was 'you'. He didn't feel comfortable calling him by his name, but he wasn't stupid enough to use some insulting term to address him… was he?

He was still breathing hard, a result of their very vocal confrontation, and the increased flow of oxygen to his lungs when he was this close to Ravi, also meant that he was more or less the only thing he could smell. Instead of trying to push the fucking vampire away, like any sane person would, he found himself tightening his grip on the other, unconsciously pulling him even closer. That fucking scent was making him all hazy and unable to think clearly. He needed some distance, needed to clear his mind to understand how to better handle the situation, but it seemed his grip refused to get any looser.

The only other time they were this close was in front of Manson, but that was a whole different story. Back then (it was mere minutes ago but it seemed like a small forever have passed) they were deep in that couple façade, and this closeness wasn't to shout insults in each other's faces… An involuntarily shudder ran thorough his body and his heartbeat picked up for a moment as he recalled the other whispering loving words at him from such close proximity. And what was that with that stupid thought that he preferred it over this situation? Connor shook his head, trying to make the fog that was clouding it go away. That wasn't it. Earlier it was the fact they had a common enemy that made it possible for them to work together, nothing more.

A common enemy… he wasn’t sure why, but the thought of Manson brought to the forefront of his consciousness something Ravi told him earlier. That magician like, straight out of a cheap Vegas show exit councilman dickhead showed them was a unique ability. Does that mean that all vampires had those? But if they did, his mind was now racing ahead with the conspiracy theory it came up with, could it be he was right all along? He actually said it himself- he never called the other a bloodsucker out loud.

"Do you know what I'm thinking?" two golden, horrified eyes snapped up to look at Ravi (and what the hell were they doing staring at his lips? No, it was just out of convenience. A coincidence, that's all). Crap. What the hell did he just say out loud? Did he actually let that stupid theory slip out of his mouth? Connor could feel himself panic just a little at his idiotic slip. He was (relatively) fine with the other being angry at him, but he would never live out the humiliation of being ridiculed by him at something like that. He was blaming that infuriating perfume that made his non-existent filters even less effective. There was no way something like that could have been right, could there? No, no way. He was just making up wierd theories to explain the other's projection of some deep rooted god/inferiority complex on him. But why did he have to say it out loud?!

The small pocket of air between their faces was heated, Ravi breathing harshly as his hold on the runt's shirt tightened. He could hear the fabric give a whine of protest from the abuse. However, his mind was solely focused on the mutt in his lap, who was spitting nonsense left and right at a fast pace. "Context clues," Ravi sneered. Baring his fangs as familiar rage boiled within him, which was more welcomed than the initial hurt the beginning of this argument brought. He could not help but feel as if this was the universe's way of punishing him. Giving him a runt of a stray so rude and so aggressively complicated that it makes him close to screaming in frustration. Though, he can not recall any thing he's done for him to be gifted such a punishment. While yes, he's not a saint in any way, he's not much of a monster either. He's never purposely hurt anyone whom did not deserve it. His traitorous mind provided an image of her again, making him close his eyes; he was already punished enough for what happened centuries ago to her.

Ravi took in a deep breath, that intoxicating smell more evident with the close proximity between him and the runt. And he regretted breathing in so deeply now; he can almost precisely describe the scent of the mutt. It was sharp, sweet, just like what he thought before. Similar to green apples and caramel, maybe even a hint of autumn leaves and humid rain. Either way, the smell itself made his mind blur for a moment. Only focusing on greedily taking in the scent more and more, filling it in his lungs. No, no the scent does not erase the fact that he was angry with the runt. That he was more than livid at his arranged fiance right now. Trying to come back to reality, even if it was harsher than he would like, Ravi narrowed his eyes once again at the mutt. Pulling him closer.

The abrupt uptick of the runt's heartbeat made Ravi pause; why is he so in tune with this poor excuse of a living creature's heart beat? However, the way it sounded, like it was from mere excitement or maybe something else? No, he needs to focus. Why would the runt be excited about about this screaming match they were whole heartedly participating in? (Maybe the runt was excited to rile him up so much.) Ravi's next angry shout died on the tip of his tongue at the horrified question the runt asked him. What? Does this mutt actually think he can read his godforsaken mind? Well, to be honest, Ravi could decipher what the runt was feeling through the sound of his heartbeat and scent (and the stray smelled almost fearful) but that was it. Then again, why should he correct him?

"Is that really more important right now," Ravi's voice was considerably lower than before. Stumped from the smell of panic coming in waves from the runt. No, he needs to stay angry, to continue this argument because he has more to say to this rudely ill mannered mutt. Instead, he found himself saying; "I can hear your heart beat." Why was he taking the time to explain this? He leaned a bit closer, their noses brushing up against each other as he growled. "I can not read your mind, you imbecile." There, that's better. They should be fighting, Ravi should not be concerned with the sudden sharp fear from the runt. But, why does that idea scare the mutt? Does it not know that some vampires have this capability? Or that they all have their own special ability unique to themselves, the most being two? This really brings it to light that they know so little of one another. Mentally, he shook himself, ignoring the rationality there.

Ah, but he still finds the worry hiding behind his rage.

The slight state of panic he was still in somehow made his processing a little slower than usual. He was prepared for quite a few responses, with being laughed or yelled at the top contenders. That rational, almost indifferent reaction he received, however, was not something he had foreseen. His ears seemed to make a conscious effort of being tuned in to the more silent words after the high decibels they got used to only moments earlier. And did the bloodsucker just took his question seriously and started explaining the mechanism behind his ability to understand him? Connor blinked at him a few times. Well, it only made sense he was able to hear his heartbeat. He probably could have done the same had his betrothed had a heartbeat to be heard. And yet, the thought somehow made him uncomfortable. It was almost like he had some kind of vulnerability the other could use, like he was exposed in a way Ravi could never be. Suddenly he became very conscious of his own heartbeat.

The fact that the other decided to completely close the distance between them was not helping. He could hear the disobedient organ skip a beat at the contact, the sound itself making him more disturbed than the insult he just received. Even more concerning was the fact his lips slightly parted at the growl, and that he nearly used them to shut the other up. Eyes suddenly widening as soon as he understood what he almost did, he sharply turned his head to the side, as much as their mutual grasp of each other allowed him to. "Shut up" he murmured, his face probably bright red by how hot it felt. Why did he insist on constantly embarrassing himself? First that stupid question and now this ridiculous reaction?

He was only making things worse. He needed to get angry again, to find that urge to rip a limb or two from the other. Where did that short temper of his go when he needed it? 'Come on' he racked his brain in an effort to find a retort to the last name he was called. Problem was, he kind of used everything he had in his yelling fit. But there's got to be something he insisted clearly, he has a shitty personality. Or… does he? Connor's brows pushed together at the thought. It was true he showed him some nasty sides of himself, but it's not like most of it was unprovoked. He also showed him some more civil and agreeable sides… but which one was the real Ravi? In his state of confusion he barely noticed that his fingers finally decided to let go of the other's clothes, but instead of retrieving them, they were now sliding slightly up, until they were resting over his fated partner's collarbones. He wanted to hate Ravi with all of his might, but could he really hate somebody without knowing him?

Yes, he had to accept the fact he didn't know anything about his fiancé. He didn't know anything about his fiancé… "pfffft" the involuntary sound left his lips, followed by a loud, almost hysterical laugh that shook his body as he hunched forward, unable to stop the laughing fit that took over him. There was no doubt in his mind that he looked like a crazy person (maybe he was. He didn't know anymore), but he just couldn't help it. "This is so stupid" he managed to say in between chuckles "we… we're getting married and I don't even know you!" he verbalized his thoughts through his hysteria, almost bawling with laughter. This whole situation was so ridiculous. He was about to spend the fucking rest of his life with that person he knows nothing about. He… they were both just thrown into that absurd scenario without much of a choice. And instead of trying to make it a little better, they both just went ahead and made things so much difficult for themselves…

It took a few minutes, but finally the laughing fit died out, leaving Connor with a stomachache and seriously drained of energy. That night was a fucking emotional rollercoaster (which his temper was probably contributing quite a lot to). He just didn't want to deal with any of it any longer, he wanted things to be simple for a change. Of course, he knew what he had to do to try and start getting there, but he was still hesitant about doing it. Still, he realized, he just couldn’t go on like that. He didn't want to think too much about it, but a part of him knew the thing he was most afraid of was being rejected by the other. But there was no way he was going there right now. "Look" he quietly said, keeping his eyes on the ground as he did one of the things he hated the most- wilingly giving someone a free opening to tear him down "you're not a monster okay? It's not like I can call you something like that". In all fairness, in was true. It wasn’t like he was completely human either. He still didn't know how well he could get along with someone he was supposed to despise by nature, and he certainly didn't know what to make of his strange reactions to him, but they just… they couldn't go on like that.

Why was it suddenly difficult for Ravi to be livid with the runt? They hate one another, and he is positive that if they were in a life or death situation, the mutt would leave him there to rot. (Though, I can not be sure I would do the same, and thus the small voice returns with more illogical statements.) The scent of panic was still moving around him, assaulting his senses and his ability to keep his anger in check. Ravi hates himself for how easily the runt's smell could influence his feelings towards him, but, he doesn't understand why the mutt was so fearful. He's sure that he did not do anything to provoke this feeling. (Granted, he did initially wanted the runt to fear him, but now, he's not so sure on how he feels about it actually happening.)

The hold Ravi had on the mutt loosened, confusion evident in his eyes as his fiance looked away from him with flushed cheeks. Increased heart rate only adding to this puzzlement; was the runt alright ?Ravi was not sure what was even happening anymore between them, they were suppose to be arguing. Suppose to have un-containable anger directed towards one another, and yet, here was the mutt not even willing to look him in the eyes anymore with his skin bright with a red flush. It was hard to admit, however, Ravi no longer understands what's going on between them. It really made it obvious how much they knew so little of one another, and how problematic this situation has become. Ravi stiffened up at the small touch of the other's hands against his collarbones, glancing down at the appendages before glancing back up at his fiance with wide eyes. The dull red now no longer present. Was the mutt really alright? Or, did he feel just as conflicted as him? He hates the familiarity he felt with the unusual thought.

Does he really still hate the runt? Well, Ravi does have abrupt urges to silence the other in a none too peaceful way. But, he guesses, he's more neutral with the runt. Especially when the stray talked back to councilman Manson. (Anyone who hates the barbaric vampire just as mush as himself was immediately seen as someone worth getting to know, and such a confession made his tongue taste bitter.) The sudden hysteric laugh from the runt only made his confusion and worry worse. Did he break the runt? God, this is not what he had in mind for today. Why couldn't the runt walk back to the manor and leave him alone? Why couldn't Connor listen (When did he refer to his lover by his actual name?) to him? It would make it easier for him, make so that he wouldn't have these troubling feelings even more complicated.

Ravi blinked once, twice; the runt was trying to make this better? He didn't know how to feel about this, the runt tackled him to the forest floor, they had a screaming match, then his lover had what he could only describe as a mental break before speaking softly to him to make him feel better. And it was hard to accept, however, it was working. Hesitantly, Ravi lifted his hands before settling them on the runt's face. The contrast between the mutt's warm skin compared to his own cold skin more than alarming. He did not want the runt to think of himself as a monster, to think he was on the same level as Ravi. (He loathes this but, he's sure that the runt never done what he has in his decades of living.) Lightly, he turned the runt's head so that he as looking at him. "You're so puzzling," he admitted, his thumbs caressing the flushed skin of the runt's skin in an attempt to calm the wolf down.

"I don't understand why you would say this but," he sighed, glancing away at this small admission. "I do not hate for you being yourself. Yes, you are very much an annoyance but, maybe we can get to know one another?" Ravi looked back at the runt, it was evident how he was trying very hard to be caring, to say the correct words. "I'm also sorry for grabbing you in such a way, it was uncalled for."

Despite flinching for a moment at the initial touch, Connor found himself obediently turning his head, his eyes lifting to look at the other's face. By that point, he got to the unavoidable conclusion that Ravi had a very strange notion of personal space. He would have thought the vampire would avoid touching him at all costs, but instead, time after time, he found himself being touched by the other. It was also around that time that he realized that despite the fact he should have tried avoiding touching the other just as much, he really didn't mind.

Actually, it wasn't that he didn't mind it. He blinked up at Ravi's face as he talked, mesmerized by that strange musical quality his voice had. Somehow, it seemed to fit right in with the quiet sounds of the night that surrounded them, almost like different instruments playing together to create one complete piece. Yet, when the vampire started talking, it was like his voice was taking center stage, leaving all other sounds to accompany and compliment it, allowing him to focus solely on this strange, musical sound. Puzzling… his mind glided over the word. It wasn't an insult, nor was it a compliment, but why did he feel like it was? Maybe it was the vampire's voice, or maybe it was the gentle touch that accompanied it. Or maybe it was the combination of it all, but Connor found himself relaxing into the hands that caressed him, starting at his betrothed almost as if he was hypnotized.

His heart made a strange leap in his chest when he heard he wasn't hated, but then contracted a little at hearing he was an annoyance. Well, he couldn't really argue with that… he wasn't exactly pleasant that night. Actually, why did he even care so much in the first place?

He silently nodded at the question the other asked. Yes, he realized, no matter how he looked at it he wanted to get to know him better. What was he really like? Not when he was forced into an arranged married as unnatural as it can be, or when a certain werewolf was screaming at him from the top of his lungs. He was curious as to what he liked, what was going through his mind, what was making him happy…

Connor snapped out of his trance-like state when he realized he was leaning forward, his arms wrapping around Ravi's neck with the clear intention of hugging him. There he was, sitting on the vampire, getting patted, and actually enjoying it. He was literally a lap dog. Abruptly changing the direction of his movement upwards instead of forwards, he quickly got up to his feet. "No, it's… it was my fault as well" his limbs felt strange, especially his arms with which he wasn't sure what to do all of a sudden. Behind his back seemed to be the safest choice, so behind his back it is then. "We should really go back" he blurted quickly "you know, before they send a search party" he added, trying to paint his voice with the usual sarcasm it wore "with how we look we might accidently start the war this whole thing is supposed to prevent" he joked, his eyes going over their crumpled, dust covered clothes. Actually, he had a feeling his father wouldn't back down even if he did believe the two had a fight (which they did). It's not like some light physical contact sport was out of the ordinary where he grew up… it was more like a game for them. His father would probably say that they were just bonding. Still, right now he needed to be someplace well-lit and maybe not so isolated to get his head straight.

Just what the hell was going on with him? Alright, so maybe he didn't hate Ravi, but it didn't mean he automatically liked him, did it? There's a thin line between love and hate… that small voice reminded him. Love? Connor almost choked at the word his mind conjured up who said anything about love? He hurried to shove that word (he will not think it again) deep, deep to the back of his mind. It was just the exhaustion from the evening talking, that's all. Tomorrow he'll be able to see everything clearly once again.

Ravi never once fathomed the thought that he would be civil with a mutt, and one that he was forced to marry at that. The runt was quite the annoyance, more so than anyone he had the misfortune of meeting. However, he does not wish to upset him, to do anything that ended with the hysteria he witnessed not that long ago. Ravi is puzzled now; why does he care so much for the runt's feelings? Of what his arranged fiance thought of him? With anyone else, he could care less. Maybe even find humor at their ill thought out insults. And yet, here he was desperately wanting Connor to be okay, selfishly hoping for the runt to think kindly of him. But no, no there must be something off of him today. Was it the dinner provided that gave him these none sensible thoughts? Or the blood he drank with too much enthusiasm?

A small rush of relief washed over Ravi's form when Connor agreed, though through a silent gesture, to his question of them getting to know one another. He's more than willing to ignore the more idiotic reasoning behind his question, and instead rather pretend that it was all for their own sake and his mother's. Speaking of, what was mother up to exactly? Was she still shamelessly flirting with the elder mutt in the presence of the oldest, or where they planning something else more dastardly? He hopes it's nothing worse than this arranged agreement. (Though they are forced to be together, Ravi wonders if this small agreement between one another would bring them closer. He also wonders how his friends would react to his unnatural thought pattern.)

Ravi froze up when the mutt reached out, wrapping his arms around Ravi's neck and moving towards him. What....what was Connor doing? Was this a hug? And if so, why wasn't he pulling away? It felt as if he could not move as the other moved closer into his space. The runt's scent becoming headier, smothering his senses and clouding his mind. Maybe he should be moving away? He hasn't the slightest clue as to what the small wolf was planing, nor what this increased physical contact meant. And yet, before Ravi could fully decide the best plan of action, the runt was moving upwards and away. Ah, he was using him as leverage. (He was not fond of the disappointment that curled with a huff inside of him.)

Ravi stood up as hell, though with less haste. Being able to breathe in the clear forest air without his lover's scent so teasingly close to him he did not know what to do with his hands anymore. And as he opened and closed them a few times, he decided to brush off some of the dirt that gathered on his attire from the previous assault. Missing that warmth the tiniest that the small wolf provided for them through his gloves. Though, that was the least jarring. What shocked him the most was the confession that Connor made. Was the runt also taking responsibility for their childish actions? Ravi never thought he would be the type, the apology was even still of a shock for him which speaks volumes for his state of mind right now.

"Right," he agreed, his gaze moving back to his cleaned off suit he was still dusting off to distract his trembling hands. "I do not wish to experience what mother has to say if she does." Knowing her, she would embarrass him in front of Connor with the acknowledgement of his pride being on the line. (Actually, when was being embarrassed in front of the runt more of a priority of fear than his own mother? It must be the scent of the other clouding his reasoning, such a fear makes little sense to have for a stranger.)

Ravi looked between his own and the smaller wolf's clothes, their roughed and disarray state more evident as he paid attention. Honestly, it looked less like they were having a disagreement that turned physical, however a war? What does the runt mean by that? While yes, their species have been fighting one another for centuries. Killing one another without disregard, and the body count has increased over the years, they never once seem to break into a full war. Such a thing happened years ago, before he was even alive( well, as alive as a vampire could be). Though, it is threatened every day. To be honest, Ravi still does not know of his mother's reasoning, besides a political stand point, behind this arranged agreement, and it seems like the runt was not different.

Curling his hands and resting them in the pockets of his suit jacket, Ravi decided to bypass that; "We look more as if ee committed adultery if anything, mic lup*." His mother might even be filled with joy if she thought of such a thing, maybe even congratulate them. With a silent sigh, head aching just a tad from this eventful day, Ravi move towards the runt. Gesturing with the nod of his head towards the direction of the manor. "Come, we should hurry before they think we killed one another." That reminds him, he should tell mother of Councilman Manson's sudden appearance on their land. It was highly against the rules and his mother will need to know of this. (Also because he desperately wants to see the verbal beating his mother will give the barbaric vampiric waste of space.)

He began to walk with gentle pace back towards the manor, slow enough for the runt to keep up with him.

Though, Ravi is more worried about what Manson was planning.

Yes, creating some distance between them was definitely the right decision. Now that they weren't mere inches away from each other, thinking became easier again. Although, well, being civil still required some conscious effort. After everything that just happened, finding the right balance between polite and not overly friendly (he still wasn't over that whole almost hug fiasco) was a little challenging.

Following the other, he let out a small chuckle at the comments thrown his way. The second one wasn't all that wrong- although they didn't resort to (serious) physical violence, the urge to kill the other was definitely present earlier that night (was it really? That small voice doubted him could you really kill him if you had to?). As for that first comment… "is it really adultery if we're engaged though?" he remarked sarcastically as he paced next to his betrothed and why the hell did he decide to say that of all things? To hint that they would ever be involved in that kind of a relationship? His hands unconsciously reached for his clothes, trying, albeit unsuccessfully so, to make them look a little more presentable once again.

For the next few minutes, he was completely silent. This whole day was a lot to take in, and he wasn't sure what to say, or what would come out of his mouth had he opened it to say something. After all, who would have thought that after everything that happened that night they would just leisurely stroll back to the mansion together? Actually, right now he would have been more than happy to sprint the distance back to the house, despite the exhaustion. He knew how to deal with the hostility he felt earlier that day- he mentally prepared himself for it for weeks now, maybe even years in the broader sense, fuelling this feeling in himself and letting it grow as it wished. But now, after being so violently confronted with the reality, he felt like a lot of his previous believes were shuttered. Not only that, but new, coherent beliefs that could replace them haven't been formed yet, and so all he was left with was one big mess.

He was more than relieved to finally see the lights of the mansion in the distance, and, not long after, find himself in its entranceway. A small run of his hand through his hair later (not that it helped with anything- even before the fight his hair was stubbornly ruffled, doing whatever the hell it wanted), they were entering the room from which he could hear soft voices engaged in what seemed to be pleasant conversation.

As he entered the room, the looks from his family left no room for mistake that the night's antics haven't gone unnoticed. Although he prayed they didn't think that they were… you know, his mind refused to linger on that thought, it was clear they could see something had happened, despite the fact they didn’t comment on it. "Ah, the younglings are finally back" his father smiled at them as they entered, his eyes carrying an almost mischievous gleam, with his brother watching him wide-eyed behind his back. He knew him well enough to know that this look meant 'what the hell just happened?' but fortunately, Oliver was well-mannered enough not to ask. There would definitely be a third degree at home though. At least his father didn't seem like he was about to ask anything- the clearly much less hostile air between him and Ravi seemed to be more than enough to satisfy him, and he assumed he would just adopt his own interpretation to the night's events.

He was a little less thankful for his old man at the next words that left his lips. "I'm glad to see it seems like the two of you are getting along. We were talking, and we think it would be best to hold the ceremony within two, maybe three weeks tops. You know, strike the iron while it's hot". Connor could feel himself going pale over that declaration. They wanted him to get married in two to three weeks? They just met that same night! Granted, it didn’t matter much seeing this was an arranged marriage, but still. Not only did they just got over the small hurdle of that burning hatred towards one another, but they still didn't know much about each other. And they would be wedded in less than a month?

And it seemed as though his father wouldn't stop there. "As for the living arrangements" he continued, clearly ignoring his shocked son that stared at him speechlessly "we believe it would be easier for Connor to move here. Of course we would love to have Ravana over at our territory, but that would require some more… preparations of facilities". 'Of course it would,' Connor realized, still not able to articulate a single word. For a moment there, he forgot that his fiancé had some very specific dietary needs, ones that their own home wasn't exactly able to provide at the moment. But it wouldn't stop there. "Of course, you would have to come visit" his father's deep laugh seemed to echo in the room as he continued weaving his future with his words "good thing you're going to be this close. I also think it would be best if you were able to move here prior to the ceremony, just to get used to things," his forehead creased slightly at the thought "only if it's okay with the mistress of course" he added as he turned to look at her "we haven't had the chance to talk about it yet". Well, that was… that. Connor watched his father half in confusion and half in panic as he unfolded his meticulous plan. He was to live in with the vampires? And move there even before the wedding? What would he do there? Where in the house would he live? How would the other bloodsuckers take his presence there (if Manson was anything to go by, not too well)?

Of course, his father wouldn't just let him stay in his shocked state as he tried wrapping his head around all this. "What do you think?" he directed the question at the theoretically happy couple. What did he think? That wasn't a real question, was it? He was supposed to just agree to everything, just like he did from the very beginning. Yet, Connor couldn’t find it in himself to answer. In fact, he felt a little like he forgot how to talk all together. His eyes shot to look at Ravi in panic. What was he thinking? Wait, of all people, why did he rely on him for an answer? And why did he care what he was thinking to begin with?

It was a continued oddity, how easily his emotions seem to jump around with the runt's presences. Even a few choice words can change his mood drastically, and Ravi is not that fond on that abruptly discovered weakness. Maybe it's because his betrothed is technically younger than him (about two centuries younger, to be exact), or maybe the runt was becoming just the tiniest endearing. However, why? Why was it that the runt is effortlessly worming his way inside to be a consistent virus Ravi has no choice but to succumb to its effects? No, no, he shouldn't be thinking so seriously on this matter. Sooner or later, that livid rage will return once again, and, once more, they will be seconds from tearing one another apart as they were raised to do. Yet, here he was, still holding on to small miracles while also waiting for the next outburst to come from either of their mouths.

Ravi hummed, ignoring the mayhem of his thoughts for the time being; "Well, you are correct on that. But can we not just pretend?" His tone was teasing, but, it's not really an issue. Infidelity does not exist in vampiric culture, considering they are naturally more "active " in an intimate sense. After that last comment, the travel back towards the manor was silent. Only the sound of their steps against the path they took and the natural sounds of nature around them the only noises enacting around them. It was, nice. Well, Ravi can not be certain. It wasn't exactly unwelcomed, the silence. However, it was a change. The whole night was filled with some kind of noise, or whisper of a sound. Unfortunately, that left Ravi at the mercy of his thoughts.

Thanks to the lack of yelling (on the runt's part) and suffocating anger (on his part), it gave Ravi a clear view of both of Connor's and his own side of this forced arrangement. They are both just simply frustrated, settle that next to festering anger they have towards one another that will not simple be relieved over night and behold. The many arguments they had in not even a full night. Though, despite his unease and distaste with all mutts, Ravi hopes they can be alright. Be somewhat accepting of one another. Granted, them ever being past friends being unlikely, impossible at best. (Not as if he wished they would be. Honestly, they would kill each other within a week. A day, at the least. Also, he's a mutt. )

At the sight of the manor lights, Ravi had a feeling of dread all too familiar with the beginning of the night. His mother is not going to be pleased, and there will be hell to pay. With a deep breath, he strolled inside with his arranged lover. Thankful that there was no servants around to announce their arrival. Than again, he's sure his mother can here the runt's heartbeat loud and clear. Even if she didn't sound like she did, from what Ravi could hear from the polite conversation drifting from out of a nearby room. He can distinctively hear her laugh with a tilt to her voice. Oh my, she was flirting still. And in front of the older mutt, no less.

Swallowing the sick feeling, Ravi followed in step with Connor towards the room. And the look his mother gave him spoke volumes. As soon as they entered her sights, she raised a simple eyebrow at the two of them. Before narrowing her eyes at her son with clear confusion and simmering anger. Expression asking for an explanation without verbally doing so. Ravi is prideful enough to admit that he looked away from the look his mother was boring towards him. Feigning interest in the decor of the room around as if seeing it for the first time. "Yes," his mother answered the elder wolf. "It seems they are." The chill in his mother's voice spoke of the scolding and backlash to come later. Just pretend everything is alright, and maybe he'll be left off with a simple warning. However, getting along? Ravi turned his gaze towards the elder wolf; what part of their attire says that? Then again, they were no longer glaring each other, daring the other to do something to give them an excuse to attack. Hm, he guesses to some extent they were getting along. But, no way on friendly terms. No, they only agreed to not harm one another. (Ravi lied to himself.)

Two to three weeks. It felt like everything stopped at those words. Two to three weeks? They were going to hold the ceremony in less than a month? Glancing over at his mother, he could see the apology in her eyes and a small smile of encouragement. No, no there is simply no way. Ravi just accepted the fact that they will have to be civil with one another, and now he is told that the ceremony was to be held in less than a month? And with each word the elder wolf said without a thought, only put another nail into the coffin. (No pun intended at the moment.) Ravi already prepared for the living arrangements, that was to be expected (Ravi was entirely thankful for the small miracle that he would not have to stay in the land of the mutts. That would not go over well. At all.) , however, for this to be decided in a night? This made the situation all too real; he's being married off to a mutt and his mother simply saw nothing wrong with this agreement.

But the way the runt was taking it. Ravi can very nearly taste the panic oozing off of the runt. The once pleasant scent souring with the emotion, it was suffocating. It could gag him, if he had the reflex to. "Of course it is alright darling, I'm sure Ravi will do his best to make sure Connor will live comfortably here." And here is his mother, still agreeing to this insanity. To add insult, the elder wolf had the nerve to ask them how they felt about it. Knowing they had no choice, to only be good little younglings and agree. Unconsciously, Ravi looked over at his fiance, only to be greeted with the visual panicked turmoil happening to his lover. Ah, he doesn't like that look; his own inner turmoil was forgotten. What should he say? He was not expecting the other to look to him to answer. Ravi has no idea as to what to say. But, he does want to erase the tension Connor was experiencing.

Hesitantly, Ravi reached over towards his lover. Intertwining their fingers together, holding the runt's hand. It was less of an intimate interaction than the act they arranged in front of Manson. Even different from when they apologised and held each other in their arms. Yet, between every physical interaction they had, this is the one that made him feel...warmth. A simple act that should not be affecting so intensely. With a deep sigh, Ravi gave Connor a small smile. (Unknown to him, his mother was watching this exchange. Shock evident in her usually masked expressions as she saw something her son did not. ) "I believe it is all very, daunting," he explained. Still looking at the runt before turning his gaze towards the elder wolf. "However, I think we can manage this much. I'll do my best to make this easier...," for him. "For us."

As his head continued spinning from the countless thoughts that ran through it, it seemed as though nothing would be able to stop his inner panic. There he was, pushed into a corner he saw no way of getting out of, trying to comprehend the life changing information that was continuously thrown at him as if it was nothing, trying to manage some kind of a reply (and not a rude one) that was expected of him all at the same time… damn he's going to flip some tables when they go back home. Couldn't his old man at least give him some kind of a warning before making all of those fucking decisions on his own? Ah, but then again, it's not like he had any part it the decision making process before. Right from the start, it was just him and the mistress, and he was just expected to agree to everything and just…

This train of though was abruptly cut at the feeling of something, someone, touching his hand. Jumping a little at the touch, (he really needs to stop doing that. It's fucking embarrassing) he realized he was so busy looking at Ravi's face that he didn't really pay much attention to the rest of him. Instinctively, his fingers reacted to the comforting touch, coiling with those of his betrothed, his thumb lightly grazing back and forth across the back of his hand in a reassuring gesture (although he wasn't quite so sure which one of them he was trying to reassure).

He would never admit to the fact that suddenly it felt like he had some kind of an anchor to hold him down, something that would help his spiraling thoughts to start settle down and allow him to function like a normal human being. The fact that it just happened to occur as the other held his hand was a mere coincidence, that's all.

Had he looked at his family, he could have seen their shocked reactions at the interactions. While he knew they hoped for the two of them to politely get along (although that was the equivalent of expecting a miracle when Connor was involved), they certainly weren't expecting that. Especially after his less than pleasant attitude at the beginning of the evening. Yes, had he looked at them he would be able to see his always-talkative father stare at them speechlessly, and his brother suspiciously narrowing his eyes as Ravi, but he didn't see any of it. Instead, his eyes were more or less glued to the person talking to him, taking in that offered smile as he tried focusing on the words he said. What was it with the stupid small answer smile that decided to stubbornly appear on his face? Was he conditioned or something?

And yet, he was happy. Or, well, at least a little relieved. He wasn't alone in all of that- he had an ally. Someone that was thrown into that situation just as much as he was. And they did agree to try and get along. You do realize that oh so wonderful voice reminded him that you're happy over holding hands with the bloodsucker? Well then, it seemed like he just discovered how fast one can go from happy to embarrassed (although, he couldn't say that first sentiment was completely gone). Reluctantly pulling his hand back, clasping it with the other in front of him, he directed his attention back at the other people in the room. He tried pushing back the thought that his hand suddenly felt uncomfortably empty. It was just fine a moment ago. Instead, he turned to face the scariest person in the room- his future mother in law. "Thank you for taking me into your home" see? He could be diplomatic if he really tried "we'll do our best to take care of our clans". He wondered if Oliver knew he was a source of inspiration for this little statement. If he would he would probably smack him a little when they'll go back (although he definitely didn't try making fun of him… this time).

"Well then" his father seemed to recover from the shock he just received, now looking pleasantly satisfied with his son's belated manners that finally decided to join the party "I'm sure we'll make this a satisfactory arrangement for both sides. I'm glad to see you understand the implications of this decision" in all fairness, Connor actually wasn't that clear about the details. He knew a little from what he was told and what he… overheard (eavesdropping is extremely rude after all), but he didn't have the full picture yet. Not that it seemed like his father was bothered by it. "Is there anything you kids would like for the ceremony?" he smiled at them cheerfully, his eyes moving from Connor to Ravi "if there is you just let us know. Otherwise just leave the arrangements to us and enjoy". Really? Connor shook his head slightly. That was a political marriage. Not like he planned a ceremony with someone he wanted to marry- what requests could he possibly make (except for cancelling the whole thing- and that would never happen)? Still, he sneaked a glance at Ravi, was there anything he wanted? He couldn't say the question didn't pique his curiosity- just a little.

It is more than unexpected, the way he suddenly felt the need to shield the runt from the inevitable reality of their arrangement. It only made this situation more complicated, and his mother wasn't much help either. Yet, Ravi wants to at least ease the pressure on his fiance. But why? This is going past the initial need for civility between them, over the line of mutual hatred between them. This was more than problematic for Ravi, what would his mother think of his abrupt fondness of the runt? Actually, it would most likely bring her joy. She might even rant about how her political move changed the ever sadistic youngling into one of soft smiles and a need to comfort. Ah, this is too much to consider at a time like this. Perhaps later he could recount his questionable actions towards his arranged lover once he's alone.

Ravi turned his gaze back to the runt when he felt the other intertwine their fingers together. The heat from his fiance's skin feeling like a heavy comfort that he never thought he would ever crave. Would ever think to find a new sense of calm with. He did not think the runt would return the gesture, did not even pretend to expect it. It only added to his confusing thoughts, that simple hand holding could feel so nice. So welcomed. Looking back towards the adults whom were weaving their fate, he noticed the sibling , Connor's brother, staring his way with narrowed eyes. Oh? Ravi raised an eyebrow; so the older wolf seems to not like him. He's not entirely surprised about this, however, what caused the sudden change?

Honestly, Ravi does not care. It could be anything at this point that he could not help. Most likely stemming from the fact of what he was. Oh well. When Connor let go of his hand with haste, the disappointment that blossomed inside of him was overwhelming. Right, the runt is not keen on touching, if earlier was of any indication. Smile a little more practiced than natural, he easily set his hand in the pocket of his suit jacket. Somewhat listening to politeness directed from his lover towards his mother, whom smiled brightly with a hint of mischievous intent. Ravi does not know what sudden thought plagued mother's mind, but, he has a sense of fear from the sight. Bypassing that, he did not know the runt could actually speak with a sense of manners. It was, shocking. (He did not want to dwell on the thought that even though earlier he questioned the runt's ability to even say one polite thing, this sudden act of sophistication did not feel like his arranged lover at all. Then again, does he truly know what is really Connor and what is not?)

Ah, the ceremony. Ravi frowned in thought; he did not really think he would ever be married, so any ideals that he would have for this event was never really thought out. A vampiric ceremony was simple, they give one another an item of importance to the other, speak their vows and that's it. However, very few still keep the tradition of drinking one another's blood despite it being banned for many harmful events that led from it. "Oh," his mother spoke up, clasping her hands together. "I almost forgot to mention, darling. Our ceremony is in our native language of Romanian and the lovers must exchange items of value with one another." Mother gave him small smile at this. Oh. Does...he really have to give that up? Can there not be a replacement? "We no longer drink one another's blood, it's quite an old fad." Of course, mother does not want to be detailed about the why.

But, Ravi was more focused on what he would have to give up; was there any other item he could give up? Granted, there wasn't much he had that was of equal value that his mother wanted him to give to the runt. However, would the runt even be the wiser? He could always give him an old jewel. But, then there's mother, whom knows what the item was and where it was hidden. Ravi can only hope that she could be at least understanding of his reluctance. "Ravi," he looked over at his mother. "Do you have anything else to add?" Add? There wasn't much, it was an arranged marriage after all. Though, if he could add something to the ceremony...

"Poppies," he finally said, lost in thought for a second before clearing his throat. "I, would like for there to be poppies." His mother's smile fell into shock before an understanding, yet sad, expression graced her features at his request. Ravi looked away, hoping no one else would guess there was something more than just a simple request for a certain type of flowers.

"Of course," the mistress said, glancing at the elder wolf and his clan. "Is there any traditions that we should be mindful of, darling? Or any requests?"

It seemed as though the new information he had to process that night just seemed to be piling on. He blinked at his soon to be mother in law as she explained the traditional cerenony. Romanian? Does that mean they were expecting him to learn the language in the very few weeks before the wedding? And what about this item of value thing? His brain autometically started trying to figure out what could he use. He didn't really have that many things he thought were appropriate for a wedding ceremony- he wasn't one to keep mementos in the first place, but he had the feeling his new family was a little different in this regard. And he really wanted to be able to bring something of equal value- not materially, but importance-wise, to his betrothed. Actually, why should he? After all, in their case it was just like signing on a contract, they were merely closing a business deal. And yet, he didn't feel comfortable with brigning just some random item (although he couldn't explain why he felt thet way for the life of him)- it had to be something important. There just had to be something meaningful he cuold exchange with the vampire and...

He blinked in surprise at the mistress, the slightly confused expression caused by the need to register all of this information quickly changing into slight shock. Did she just say drink each other's blood? Okay, so she did say they weren't required to do that, but he just couldn't shake off that mental image. For some reason, he was more distrubed by the thought he would have to drink Ravi's blood than by the opposite option (why though? Clearly his sense of survival just decided to take a leave of absence that night). Did vampires even had blood to be drank? Maybe the blood they were consuming was coursing through their veins (he had to admit he wasn't all that familiar with the biology of his fiance. But then again, why should he be? But weren't some things he should know, considering the fact they were about to marry each other? God, he really knew nothing about him, did he?).

That notion only got reinforced further by the next exchange between his fiance and his mother. His eyes traveled in wonder between Ravi when he stated his request and the mistress. Why poppies of all things? Well, he guessed Ravi had more than enough time to plan his own wedding (although he assumed the other never dreamt he would be marrying him. Somehow, he couldn't help the small contration of his chest when he wondered whether Ravi was dissapointed that he was the one he had to marry), so it only made sense he thought about what kind of flowers he would like- that was one the things people thought about when they were planning their weddings, right? Ah, but why did the mistress gave him that look? For some reason, it caused his eyes to immediatly follow her's as they snapped to look at Ravi. It was only after they did that he realize what was guiding him was worry. The way Ravi's mother looked at him made it seem as if she was offering comfort to someone who was hurt. Was he hurt? His brows pushed togetehr in concern. He didn't seem like anything was wrong with him physically, he thought as he looked at his fiance who, at the moment, was looking away, as if his mind was somewhere else. How did a simple discussion about flower arrangments made the usually cold mistress so careful about her son? And why?

It was a good thing his own family was there to answer to question they were asked, because right now his mind was all over the place. "Well," his father opened, not looking as if he noticed the strange exchange between the vampires (either that or he just chose to ignore it) "we have a fairly simple ceremony. The couple's hands are tied together using a silk scarf as a sign for the strength and value of the bond being established. And then there's the exchange of vows and rings". That last part brought Connor's attention back to his father, who continued talking "it might be too much exchanging two things, but..." he wasn't able to finish that thought before Connor decided to finally voice some kind of opinion regarding the ceremony. "We don't need both!" he almost shouted, his eyes shooting to the familiar glint of gold on his father's left hand "just exchanging items is enough. We don't need anythign else". He would not use that horrid thing, he thought as his eyes silently begged his father to just let it go. He would not give Ravi somehting he hated this much with all his might. This thing had nothing but unpleasant thoughts associated with it. It would be like strating their shared life with a bad omen.

Thankfully, after a moment of staring at him in silent surprise, his father's features settled once again into a small smile "very well" he yielded, looking thankful for the fact Connor at least stopped objecting all together, accepting a fate regarding a discussion they had many, many times in the past "then exchanging an item should be enough for the purpouse of the ceremony. We also believe that after they have been wedded to couple has the ability to bless others, so I assume our people would approach them for that. It is not a necessity though, so if it is a problem on your side just let me know in advance and I'll pass on the massege" he smiled at the vampires. It gave Connor a moment to recompose himself, thankful for the fact his only request was accepted without much arguments. He wouls personaly sit there and bless the whole damn clan- even the vampires if they wanted, as long as he didn't have to wear that ring.

"Ah" his father speaking once again brought his attention back to him, noticing he was looking at his watch "I apologize, I didnt even notice the time. I hope we haven't overstayed our welcome" he offered yet another friednly smile to the mistress. He seemed to genuinely like her- his father wasn't that good of a liar. "If there is nothing else to discuss we'll head back. It was a wonderful evening, thank you both" he now smiled kindly at both his hosts "we will also arrange for the move, I believe we can have Connor at your house even within a few days," why the hell did it sound like he was just a piece of furniture he was talking about "so you just let us know when is a good time for you".

This was more than problematic than he initially wanted. It was becoming harder and harder, pushing away dark memories of a deceased person. However, he's never once recalled them as often as tonight. The night he met his arranged lover of all nights. Though, there never was a day Ravi hadn't thought of her. Her smiles, her laughs, forever engraved like a haunting reminder that not even immortality could help him escape them. However, it was never so prominent in the forefront of his mind before. Never so blatantly there. Ah, he really wishes for the end of this night. He could feel the eyes of Connor trained solely on him, which only fueled his efforts in pushing the memories back into the deepest part of his subconscious to never again deal with. Once he felt collected enough, he turned his gaze back towards the adults. Face masked in feign calmness as he listened to the elder wolf explain their own tradition of wedding ceremonies.

They tie their hands together? It's, a lot more symbolic than he expected. Again, this only becomes even more obvious how little he knows of the mutts. (Of his fiance.) The vows, of course, were similar to their own tradition. So some similarities. Though, he does not think he has a ring. Well, one that would be deemed pleasing for such an event. (Why is that such a main focus for him? It was just rings, they should not be held up as the utmost importance. Not when this is just a simple political move arranged by both his mother and the elder wolf to end the feud between their clans.)

Ravi jolted at the abrupt outburst of the runt, quickly turning his gaze towards the smaller wolf. What brought this about? Why was the runt so keen on denying the exchange of rings? Of his father's ring? Even if his lover says it was because they would already be exchanging gifts of close value, Ravi did not think it was something that small. Though, the elder wolf seems to easily agree to this request. Simply taking it in stride. Well, it was something with a deeper meaning behind it then. (And Ravi does not need to know, no matter how curious it made him about the distaste Connor so suddenly directed towards the thought of using the ring the elder wolf wore. It has nothing to do with him. )

The... ability to bless others? His mother bit her lip, as if to stifle a laugh. That, is actually quite ironic given, well, he's a damned soul. Oh, Ravi is going to take immense joy in doing such an act. A vampire, blessing mutts. He knows now, that that will be the only joyful thing that will come from this forced ceremony. He could practically see the look on the other clan member's faces. (Then again, he friends will be there to witness it as well. Maybe even document the iconic event. Small details he's willing to look pass for the sake of partaking in such a ritual. He does not want to be rude, now does he?) "Oh, I'm sure Ravi would not mind such a simple task. Correct?" His mother asked, laughter still evident in her eyes.

"Of course, mother," Ravi agreed, trying to hide the giddiness that wished to escape. No, he must be polite. He'll laugh once the mutts leave, which is soon apparently. His mother scoffed at the elder wolf, resting her hand on his arm which lingered longer than necessary. "Of course not, darling. You're always welcomed here, I remember telling you this earlier." She told the wolf this earlier? When did this exchange happen? When she was off in their territory for two months? When would such a conversation even be brought up? Ravi felt sick to see the evident flirting his mother was doing, clearing his throat as he looked away from their very intimate exchange.

"You're welcome," Ravi bowed his head the slightest, as his mother simply giggled. (She was acting as if she was a couple of hundred years younger. He must tell Samuel about what their mother is doing. Maybe he can decipher what this exchange between the two meant.) Standing up straight once more, Ravi looked over at his fiance. Not knowing what to say. It's suppose to be a simple farewell, a normal 'good-bye' would do nicely. Yet, Ravi found himself tongue tied. Which never happens to him, ever. "Any day is alright, darling. We're not busy people," his mother continued the conversation with the elder wolf. Well, expect for diplomatic issues and having to attend once a month meetings with the councilmen because of their status. However, even then their not very busy with much.

But, returning to his more current problem on how to properly say his farewells with the runt. "I guess," Ravi began, making sure he does not fidget as the nerves snake their way around his throat. "I will be seeing you in few days, *mic lup." He heard a faint gasp of a chuckle come from where the adults resided, though, when he glanced over, all that greeted him was his mother smiling very brightly at the elder wolf. Mirth dancing in her eyes. Oh. Oh god she heard him. Ravi is thankful for the small miracle that he could not blush, though the burst of embarrassment was still very much there.

As he continued watching the "adults" (he was using that term loosely. He seriously doubted the maturity level of those two) keep weaving the plan without much thought to the pawns they were moving, that also just happened to be their children, a small sigh left his lips. He gave up on the idea he would actually be asked for his opinion or input- from the moment this plan was set into motion he was not given a choice not once. Besides, he was way too tired to argue after that evening. Not like he could change much- there was no doubt about the fact that both the wedding and his move into the vampires' house was inevitable. Instead, he just watched silently, wondering if he should tell the mistress she can stop with the flirting. Well, maybe it was just the way she talked to other people, but still. He was pretty sure she already got what she wanted, and besides he couldn't see a way that would work on his father. He couldn't imagine she would be able to somehow bypass that... He quickly grabbed his mind that began wondering into dangerous territories. There was no way this was something that could be so easily broken. He knew better than that.

Ravi talking to him provided a welcomed distraction from his current stream of consciousness. "Ah" he said before his eyes turned to look at him, understanding he was probably expected to provide some kind of an answer "yeah. See you". He wasn't completely sure, but he seemed a little uncomfortable, which made him a little uncomfortable in his turn. Guess it really was a slightly awkward farewell. In the back of his mind he took notice of the fact he should really learn some Romanian. That wasn't the first time his lover causally slipped into it during a conversation, and the mistress silently scoffing in the background (he didn't have a single doubt in his mind it was her) made his suspect once again that the content he was missing wasn't the most flattering one. Although he would try to avoid making a scene over it, for now.

On their way out of the manor, and back to their home, he was mostly silent, very much like he was on the way there. This time, however, he wasn't fuming in anger, but rather almost numb. The night's events didn't seem completely real, and he was still trying to just... take everything in. He did nod compliantly as his father went on and on about the night, seeming quite full of himself now that he proved Connor the whole thing wasn't as bad as he thought it was. He had to admit he didn't really listen to most things he said.

When they finally got home, his father was quick to retire to his office (he assumed to start moving things ahead. He really couldn't care at that point), leaving Connor alone with his brother. Honestly, the only thing he wanted to do at that point was get into bed. The day have been hectic on all kinds of levels, and the days to come would probably be no better. He was already on the third step, when he realized his brother wasn't following him. He turned around only to find Oliver still on the bottom step, looking as if he was seriously contemplating something. "Oli?" he called out to him "come on, or are you planning to stay here for the night?" he gave him a half smile that didn't seem to register with his brother. "Just... keep your eyes open, okay?" Connor, blinked at him, not quite sure how to respond to that strange request. From the two of them, he was the one that kept objecting to that plan. Oliver seemed to agree with their father that this wasn't such a bad idea, and maybe even have some real potential to it. "I'm just saying, be aware. The mistress I think is harmless, but be mindful of the rest of them, okay?" he finally looked at him. "Come on Oli," he said with a half smile "I'm not a complete idiot". It wasn't like he forgot he was walking into a house full of bloodsuckers- honestly, he didn't know what got into his brother all of a sudden. His last remark caused Oliver to chuckle as he hurried to catch up to him "true, you're only a half idiot" hr ruffled his hair, causing a series of very vocal protests to come from Connor.

Getting ready to bed as he did every other night made it look as if the entire evening was just a figment of his imagination (although he seriously hoped those weren't the kind of things his imagination would come up with). The only remnant of the night that seemed real was the faint, barely there, surprisingly comforting smell that stuck to his clothes.

Of course, the next morning erased every memory of it as well as the last peaceful hours of sleep. Their always chaotic house seemed to turn into a full fledged disaster area as things were moved, dragged, packed and people seemed to be coming in and out at all hours of the day. Needless to say he spent as much as possible holed up in his room those days. Aside from packing (which he seemed to see as much less of a big deal than the people around him), his mind was mostly busy with the question of what item he could use in the ceremony. For some reason, he still wasn't satisfied with the thought of bringing something insignificant. In fact, this problem plagued his mind and remind unsolved until the very day of his departure, when the sudden, right under his nose solution popped into his mind. It wasn't much, but it felt right. He knew that if there was something of importance he would exchange, that would be it. Quickly putting the thin golden links around his neck, letting them and the pendant be completely hidden behind his black sweater, he left to say goodbye.

His departure wasn't seen as a special occasion (thank god), and he managed to get by with just a few pats on the back and further ruffling of his already and always ruffled hair. The ceremony would be a whole different story and he would never hear the end of it, but he would not think of it right now. He was nervous enough as it was. Thankfully, this time he went alone. There was really no point in other people coming with him. Soon enough, he was standing in front of a now familiar door and ringing a now familiar bell. He couldn't help feeling a little tensed as he stood there and wait, his hand reaching to unconsciously play with the pendant around his neck through his clothes. How would his new family treat him now that he was there alone? How would his fiance treat him? Would he be kind? Just polite to the point of civility like they agreed? Or will the disdain and hatred from their last encounter resurface? That thought alone made an unpleasant feeling settle into his stomach. He really hoped, he realized, that they could, somehow, get along with each other.

The farewell between them was more awkward than he hoped, yet, at least he was able to efficiently say a proper good-bye. Even though they were soon to see each other once more. His mother, after exchanging a few obvious flirtatious remarks towards the elder wolf, walked to his side as they watched the wolves leave their manor. The large doors closing behind them with a resounding creek, and, once they were shut, Ravi turned towards his mother. "So," he began. "I am sure those flirtatious words you bantered towards the elder wolf was more than just a facade, correct?" He needed to know what his mother was playing at; she already had the mutt agree to this arrangement, therefore it made little sense to continue such a charade of interest after achieving the initial goal so easily. Unless....

The mistress huffed out a laugh, clasping her hands in front of her as she held her head up high. "Come now, Ravi. Do you really wish to take my choice of words in question after that little slip up?" Ravi felt as if his world stopped when a slow, devious smile graced his mother's lips as she whispered; "*Mic lup." He cleared his throat; right, whomever caught mother's interest is of no concern to him. Embarrassment setting firmly in his chest, he quickly turned away from his mother, whom laughed at his abruptness, before heading up the stairs. Calling over his shoulder, as steadily as he could; "I.. am going to my chambers." Mother only laughed a bit louder, the joyful noise heading in the opposite direction of where his destination was. Good, he can be alone with his thoughts.

Ravi is not sure as to why he chose such a nickname for his fiance; *mic lup. It is very much fitting for him, and, it is not kind to call him "runt". Verbally. He's certain that it would end terribly for him if he did so. (He is not sure why that mattered so much.) Getting to his room, he slipped the suit jacket from off his shoulders, draping it over the plush chair in his room before proceeding to toe the black leather oxford's off and he laying on his bed. The mattress giving way easily, moving to comfortably fit his form. Staring up at the wooded ceiling, he pondered; so much has happened in one night. He met his arranged lover whom irritated him to no end with his lack of manners, yet also smelled divine. His lover, whom spoke out of turn with little regret and yet wanted him to feel some comfort. To put it simply, Connor made this whole ordeal that much more complicated. Ravi sighed, turning onto his side to face the large windows of his balcony. The night sky filtering through with small specs of stars dancing in the darkness. He can still faintly smell that sweetly bitter scent of the runt, which clung to his clothes ever so lightly. This is also a problem, how the runt so suddenly became a person of endearment.

This is a forced arrangement, and they agreed to be civil with one another. Which does not entitle for more. Ah, more importantly, why does Ravi even hope that there would? He's a mutt, for them to be anything more than polite strangers was as if he would ask mother to cease all charming and playful banter she indulges in with every man she meets. It's quite impossible. However, why did he crave for such a thing to happen? Why was the mutt's comfort so important? When did the mutt become so important?

The next day was tiresome for Ravi; mother had every intention of having him share his chambers with his fiance, which he denied over and over again. ("Mother, wouldn't he be more comfortable in his own room?") Yet his mother persisted just as frequently ("Ravi, honey, wouldn't he feel safer next to a vampire he is more accustom to?"). Thankfully they came to an agreement; the runt will stay in his own chambers a across and down the hall from his own. That way, they would be able have their own space. Besides that, and cleaning up the unoccupied room, everything went very smoothly in preparations for the new addition to the manor. (Ravi would not admit this, but he was quite nervous. He is sure that being in a manor full of vampires would be greeted with some hesitation and discomfort. His mother noticed his nerves, however did not speak on them. Only curious as to how this would play out, and enjoying the youngling's attitude when something was the smallest bit off.)

That is, until his brother came home earlier than expected of him. Samuel was very much similar to their mother's more charismatic side, minus the filter. Looking around the age of twenty-five if he were human. He possessed even the same hair color as their mother, only his own came to about his shoulders. Which he has set in a loose ponytail at the base of his neck. It was not as if they were not close, no, on the contrary, Samuel and him were quite close. The problem, was the consistent teasing Ravi became victim to. Mother let his new nickname for his lover slip during dinner, and everything seemed to have spiraled out of control from there. Constant banter being thrown his way as he helped the servants prepare the room for the runts arrival ("My little youngling, being fond of his arranged lover. Ah, this is such a wonderful day!" or "To think a wolf melted the cold heart of my little Raven!"). And each time, ended in Ravi physically attacking the older vampire because it seems that his impossible sibling could tease him for hours. Without no idea what the meaning of 'stop' was.

(His mother did not help with halting all of Samuel's teasing, only berating them when they became physical.)

Finally, the day of his lover's arrival came. Ravi was in his chambers, ( He was dressed with more simplicity today; a white button up and dark slacks )sitting on his bed as he held a wooden box in his hands. The box was chipping away, a few scratches littering the exterior of the compartment that he trailed his fingers over without a thought. He hasn't looked at this piece of jewelry in so long, he's afraid that time finally got to it. With a deep breath, he lifted the lid. Inside laid a necklace; the chain was a dull gold aged with time, on the end of it was an old coin from a lost currency of decaying gold. Though, he could faintly make out the year on the bottom; '1730'. Hesitantly, he reached out, grabbing the chain with his pointer finger and thumb as he dangled the jewel in front of his face. It's been so long since he last saw this coin, it was so long ago. The coin was dulled, somewhat disfigured in its shape.

Something heavy settled in his chest when Ravi wrapped the chain around his right wrist to form a bracelet. Making sure the clasp was secure before turning his arm this way and that as he examined the coin which gently swayed with each movement. He did not know how long he stared at it, remembering that laughter, that smile. Ravi only came out of his memories when he heard a faint heartbeat, towards the front of the manor. Recognizing the rhythm and beat without effort; it should be bothersome, how easily he memorized the runt's heartbeat. Hearing the doorbell echo throughout the manor, he sighed, setting the box on his bed before he heard Samuel call out from also the front of the manor; "I'll get it!" Oh, he's going to answer the door.

Samuel is going to answer the door. "*Pula mea!" With haste, Ravi rushed out of his room. Running down the hall in a blur; no, no he cannot let his brother meet Connor. Not this soon, and without him to regulate him!

Downstairs, Samuel could hear the youngling rushing upstairs , which made him laugh as he opened the front door to the manor. He was a bit surprised to see just how small the wolf actually was. "My, you really are a *mic lup," he mussed, smiling brightly down at his soon to be brother-in-law. "You must be the angel that has changed the ways of my little raven."

mic lup: small wolf

Pula mea: what the hell, shit, fuck, etc (Omg the literal translation is 'my dick')

The sudden call that was heard from inside the mansion almost immediately after he rang the bell was certainly unexpected. It sounded almost like something a child would say… although that voice definitely belonged to an adult.

His hand stopped playing with the pendant, simply holding it through the cloth as he watched the opening door in wonder. The first thought that went through his mind was that this person was certainly not a butler. Well, of course he's not. No butler would be this excited about opening the god damn door. But then, who was he? There was no doubt about the fact that he was a bloodsucker, but this was a new bloodsucker. And why the hell was he so enthusiastic about opening the door? Or why did he look so giddy doing it, for that matter?

Eyeing the stranger suspiciously as he greeted him, his face quickly settled into a frown. "Again with the casual Romanian?" he scoffed under his breath. He should really start learning that language, or else his life in this house would be a continuous nightmare. And what was that with the wierd name his betrothed, and now this guy, decided to call him by?

If he was first suspicious of the stranger, he was even more suspicious of him now. What did he mean 'angel'? Connor had enough self-awareness to know that nobody in the history of time had ever referred to him as an angle. And what was that thing about a raven? Was this person crazy? Could vampires be crazy? Oh god, was he about to live under the same roof with an overly nice to the point of being conspicuous, mentally unstable bloodsucker?

The hustle he was hearing from the floor above them did nothing to sooth his nerves one bit. Clearly, someone was trying to get to them as soon as possible. But who? And why? Was that someone trying to get psycho there back into his straitjacket, or was this someone who was on his side?

"What are you talking about?" he unconsciously leaned back, his hand clenching around the small pendant "what the hell did you just call me? and who the fuck are you?". He eyed the stranger once more from head to toe. Something about him seemed familiar, but he wasn't sure what, and worse- it was that exact same familiarity that made him even more cautious. But what was it? He seemed to be quite young (although with bloodsuckers could you really tell?), taller than him (that's a given, his inner voice added), nicely dressed… for a moment something about the slightly long hair reminded him of Manson, but there was nothing of that unbearable arrogance and air of self-importance to him. Besides the hair color was wrong. He wrecked his brain trying to understand when the hell did he meet a black-haired, over nice, frightening looking vampire… oh. Oh. Oh god. He blinked in surprise at the sudden realization. Had this person flirted with his father it was more obvious. But, well, he had no doubt that he was looking at the male, younger, and less frightening version of his future mother in law.

He was more than happy to suddenly see his betrothed rush in his direction (although he would never admit to it out loud. Never in his life had he thought he would feel relieved seeing the face of a bloodsucker). He was less happy when he saw just how disturbed he seemed to be- and that was a whole new kind of disturbed, nothing like the things he witnessed on their last (and first) meeting. He almost seemed to be… in panic. Although, there was this small, tiny part of him that found pleasure in seeing Ravi lose his composure over something, even if he wasn't exactly sure over what. It actually allowed him to gain some of his own composure back.

"Am I going to wait outside for much longer?" he asked the new door attendant (quite rudely so, considering the fact he was talking to a pretty much complete stranger) as he shifted his eyes to look back at him, one brow arching over his eye. Without waiting for an answer, he simply paced around him, letting himself into the manner. If he were to spend the rest of his life there, might as well try starting to feel at home right? (He could practically hear the voice inside his head laughing hysterically at him. As if he could feel comfortable walking into the home of his arranged fiance, past some vampire he didn't know, into a house that was full of other vampires, only to start his mutual life- with a fucking vampire. But sure. Feel at home).

Of course, now that he was inside he was faced with a not much less difficult task. How the hell was he supposed to greet Ravi? He did took mental note (and thanked the gods for it) that the other wasn't dressed much more formally than he was (not that he had the intention of wearing a suit. But, well, at least now he didn’t feel completely out of place). "Ah… hey" he greeted the other as his hand, the one that wasn't still clutching on to the necklace under his shirt and making it look almost like he was having a heart attack, went up as he ran it through his hair "how've you been?". Smooth that ever supportive voice snickered at him. Well, what was he supposed to do? He still didn't know what kind of response to expect from Ravi. And Connor, on his part, didn't really want to start (or continue) things on the wrong foot (which seemed to be a special talent of his). What if he would be too mean again? Or worse, what if he would be too nice?

Samuel was not expecting the little wolf to be so, blunt. Then again, he seems like the perfect type for the youngling, who he can still hear hurrying towards them. Chuckling, he leaned against the door frame, regarding the new addition to the family with a mischievous smirk. "My, so the little raven gave you the nickname on his own?" He pondered; this, is going to be the most exciting day he'll ever experience. No wonder the youngling tried to keep him busy all day. Samuel watched with amusement as the little wolf leaned away, his smirk widening into a giddy grin at the discomfort he gave his brother's fiance. He could clearly hear all the jumbled thoughts of the young wolf, seeming to try an decipher who he was exactly. When the other seemed to figure out whom he was, Samuel chuckled.

"So you finally figure it out~. I don't know if I should be sad that my little brother failed to mention me to his betrothed, or a bit excited to make a first impression."

Though, Samuel also wanted to know what kind of wolf had such an impression on his little raven that he decided to wear white today.

Ravi, somehow making in towards the top of the stairs without a problem despite how quickly he moved to get there, watched with a panic as Connor walked around his brother to come inside. The door slowly shutting behind him as Samuel watched the runt with a smile that spoke of nothing but trouble. When he made eye contact with his older brother, he rushed down the stairs and put himself between his fiance and the threat. (Not really a threat, to be honest. More of a threat to Ravi, since the vampire knows too many embarrassing predicaments he's been in.) "Samuel," he growled at the older vampire, pushing him in the direction of the kitchen. "I distinctly remember telling you to go help mother in the dinning area." Because of this very reason, he even begged for mother to keep watch of the oldest while he helped the small wolf move in.

"But my little raven," Samuel whined, easily turning away from being moved towards the direction of the kitchen. "I wanted to simply introduce myself to the new member of our family." Even though the vampire was pouting, Ravi could easily see the true intent behind the act. How is he going to make him go back in the dinning area, without inflicting bodily harm in front of Connor? What would it matter if he did physically remove the nuisance? He doubts the runt would care. Ah, but he nearly forgot one glaring detail; mother. Instead, Ravi simply hissed at the older vampire, crossing his arms; "*Pe dracu!" He's not a naive child to believe this act his brother was putting out.

With every intention to continue to curse his brother, he stopped short when he heard the small wolf greet him. He turned his gaze towards his arranged lover, features softening a bit. Now that his focus was a little less on Samuel, he could smell that sweet scent coming off of Connor. He still cannot be sure what it was exactly; a combination of dead leaves and honey suckle the closest he would compare it too. The smell calmed him down even further, which is problematic because he is certain Samuel can see this interaction. Most likely planning his next wave of verbal attack when the time was right. He cleared his throat; "Hi..," why could he only say the simplest of greetings? (More importantly, it was just a simple greeting. It did not need to be something grand, and yet, Ravi felt that it should. Even if the last saw one another just a few days ago.)

"I've been well. And yourself, *mic lup?" It was polite to ask in return, he tried to reason with himself. Though, he was curious as to how the runt was doing, and he loathe himself even more for the sudden caring. He thought the illogical thought process ended that first night that they met, however, now that Ravi is faced with the truth, it seems he is becoming somewhat fond of his fiance. Though, he is not sure in what sense of fondness he was feeling. Samuel abruptly laughed towards the left of him, making him growl lowly and glare down at his brother. "Oh," Samuel said in between each chuckle. "This is a lot better than I initially thought."

"*Plimba ursu," Ravi snarled, moving to swipe at the older vampire. Whom easily danced away from his hand and jogged away and up the stairs with giddy laughter. He's going to kill him, bury him alive in the gardens to protect his image. (But, the runt does not even posses that high of an image of me. Ravi chose to ignore that cold, yet truthful, thought that passed by.) Taking in a deep breath, he rubbed the back of his neck. Glancing over at Connor. "I.. apologize for my brother's antics. He's harder to handle than mother." Which is truthful. "I did not want him to bother you as soon as you got here."

mic lup; small wolf

Plimba ursu: bullshit

Plimba ursu: get the fuck out (literal translation is walk the bear what)

Not long into his second visit (that wasn't technically a visit) in the vamipers' home, Connor couldn't help but conclude that the place was really fucking confusing. Actually, if he were to be more accurate, it wasn't the house that was confusing, but the people living in it. Every single one of the vampires seemed to be such a character- although the new one was denifitely, without a doubt, easily taking the cake on that one. And it seemed that, very much like his betrothed, this one had the unnerving ability to somehow figure out just what he was thinking (was he really that easy to read?).

It was a little embarassing to admit (ok, it was a lot embarassing), but he was too focused on his fiance that joined them to take note of the somewhat indirect introduction Samuel provided as he spoke to him. Actually, seeing his lover looking so unsetelled by this new person was... peculiar. Although the last time they met (which, again, was also the first) they were in a similar predicament, this time when Ravi placed himself between himself and the other vampire, it looked... different. Although he couldn't really point to what exactly was different, this time he didn't feel like there was real danger. Unlike with Manson, this time it felt almost like by seperating the two Ravi was trying to protect himself just as much as he tried protecting Connor (he wouldn't dwell on the thought his fince was once again trying to protect him, nor on the fact it made him feel somewhat a little more at ease).

It was only when he heard the exchange between the vampires that his mind finally and consciously conected the dots. So this was the mysterious brother that was absent on their dinner. Well, that was awkward. Although, if he was being completely honest with himself, he proably didn't leave a very good impression on any of his other new family members. Oh, you think? the snarky asshole that lived in his brain commented ybecuase tackling your fiance to the ground and screaming at him would would usually leave a good first impression

Well, actually he just might take that hostility over that strange awakwardness between the two of them. At least when they were shouting at each other they seemed to be able to communicate somehow. "Yeah, it..." he began answering the question regarding his own well being, but abruptly stopped at the laughter coming from psycho future brother in law. He didn't really have the time to wonder how he felt about this interruption when he heard Ravi's more than clearly annoyed reaction to his own brother. Although his Romanian didn't miraculously improve over the last few minutes, he was sure without a doubt that this was a curse word.

He watched with unexpected curiosity at the exchange between the brothers, and his fiance not so succesful attemp at hitting Samuel. Something about this interaction, despite being a clear display of annoyance, was reassuring in its familiarity. Before he noticed, a small chukle (it was a chuckle. He doesn't giggle) escaped his lips. This was all too familiar. Despite Samuel being so much more flamboyant, Connor was all too acquainted with that kind of teasing. The patronizing attitude, treating Ravi as if he was a child... Oliver was practically the same (when he didn't have to behave himslef, that is). He might not have looked the part, but his own older brother's favorite wat of getting what he wanted from Connor was simply sitting on him. At that moment he felt a sudden and very strong empathy towards his betrothed. It was almost like he just found a new kind of camaraderie between them.

"It's fine" finally, he was able to send a real smile at the other's direction "trust me, I know what it's like. Big brothers can be a handful". Now that they were left alone just the two of them, it was Ravi's scent that filled the room, uninterrupted. That pleasent, sweet smell was even better than he remembered, and now that he was surrounded by it once again, it seemed to somehow put his mind at ease. "Honestly, after councilman sunshine I was expecting much worse... besides, I think he cares more about bugging you than he does me. I'm just collateral damage" he admitted as he put his hands in his pockets "it's like it's part of their DNA really. They just can't not do it" he rolled his eyes, thinking back to about two decades of incessant teasing and pestering.

This was not how he pictured the day that his fiance would move in to be. It mostly lacked his brother's presence, for one. Ravi did hope that he would at least be there to help regulate some of Samuel's more sadistic traits when he introduced the two. Not letting the runt be victim of whatever game the vampire was playing. (No, why was this an important matter? Why did it matter to him how his brother was behaving in front of his arranged lover? It should be less about impressing and more about the politeness of not letting the runt fall victim to one of Samuel's many idiotic rants.) And, hearing the giggle from Connor from their less than peacful interaction did nothing to alleviate the embarrassment pressing firmly against his throat.

Ah, but, this is the first time he's seen such a honest smile on the small wolf's lips. Maybe, it was not much of an issue that Samuel met his betrothed earlier than he would like. Ravi sighed, narrowing his eyes in the direction his brother ran off too. He would not be surprised if that nuisance was planning his next move. "He should not be such a handful. He's over a century my senior." And even despite this age difference of a generation, Ravi still finds himself having to be the adult here, even towards his mother. When those two are around one another, he shuddered, the situation is doomed from the start. The runt should not have to be collateral for Samuel's insistent search for entertainment at the expense of Ravi's status.

However, thanks to that, he somehow learned more about Connor. It was odd how it came about, but, he's getting to know his lover a bit more. Even feeling, happy that they share the same familiar punishments from handful brothers. "At least you did not have to spend two centuries with yours. Take my word when I say that Samuel use to be more of a musician than he is now."

Glancing back at Connor, a small huff of a laugh fell past his lips at the nickname the runt gave their favorite councilmen. "Councilmen sunshine," he questioned, the corners of his lips twitching up into an amused grin. Honestly, his lover has the most peculiar way of insulting people. Though, it was quite entertaining. Though, Connor expected to see the councilmen here? Odd. "Well, he must learn to not involve you in one of his antics." The amount of times he was lead into the forest or lower rooms of the manor only to be left there to his own demise were far too many for him to count.

"Ah," Ravi took note of the bag that the wolf was holding. "Do you need any assistance carrying that, *mic lup? I can assist you, if you like." He was only being polite, he reminds himself. Of course it was not because he wants to greedily spend more time with the runt before leading him to properly introduce him to the seravnts. Nor want to be completely surrounded by that bittersweet scent he missed so dearly. No, no of course it was none of that.

Ah, the problems were returning again. He must really remind himself that this is an arranged marriage with a mutt. Nothing more will come of this agreement they had no say in. He should not want to make sure the runt has comfort, that they can be more than formally polite towards one another. (But, maybe, he can indulge himself. Just for today. )

It was funny, how all of a sudden everything didn't seem to be as bad as he imagnied it. He didn't stand out too much. He didn't have to face any vindictive or particulary violant bloodsuckers (for now, that is). And it seemed that despite a few days passing between their latest meeting, that had everything but the kitchen sink in it, his fiance didn't resent him anymore (well, either that or he was a really good actor. He wanted to believe- more than he wanted to- that this was not the case though). There was still this small hope in him that they could just be... like that. Once that initial awkwardness was gone, it was actually kinda nice, being able to talk to his betrothed so normally. It almost made the rest of his life seem bareable, like there could be the chance it could even have some pleasant moments. Ah, but he wouldn't just go ahead and fantasize on things that seem so far fetched. For now he should probably just be thankful that they're not in each other's throats (and yet, he doesn't seem to be able to completly put out that warm feeling he got when they were able to be so friendly with each other. One could almost say he was enjoying it).

He kept the thought that age didn't really have much to do with it to himself. He had the feeling that his future brother in law would be nearly impossible to avoid... he had a hunch he enjoyed the situation way too much, and would milk it to the last drop in order to annoy Ravi.

It took him a moment to understand what it was about the way the other talked about Manson that made that warm feeling inside of him just a tad warmer. When he did though, he felt just a little bit like an idiot. He just got happy by the thought Ravi was on his side, that he was trying to protect him. But still, it was a nice feeling. Especially when he was in this new envinroment, feeling like his ties with his old life were all severed at once (the feeling might have been just a tad dramatic, seeing just how close he was to his old home. But still, new beginnings are tough. It's just nice knowing there's someone on your side okay?).

Ravi noticing his bag, made him remember it as well. With that eventful entrance he completly forgot he had it. He blinked at Ravi, the offer taking him by surprise. He never imagined the young lord would lower himself to the point of doing pyhsical labor (if you can call carrying a bag that didn't have that many things in it physical labor). After all, he was pretty sure the place probably had more servants than anyone had needed. "I can carry it by myself. It's not that heavy you know" he was just a little offended by the hint he wasn't capable of doing it alone. He might have been a little on the short side, but he wasn't weak. "But... I don't really know where I'm taking it to" he admitted. And that was the only reason he said that. It's not like he hoped he could get some more one on one time with his betrothed because he suddenly found it nice talking to him. And the fact he hoped he would show him the way instead of just giving him instructions was only because the place was so damn big and he didn't want to get lost, that's it (his brain miraculously chose to ignore the fact he could just send him with a servant, even though he just took mental note of their abundence in the house).

Actually, now that he was thinking about it... where would he stay? He guessed they didn't exactly lack any space, but still, who knew where his new family would have him stay? His first thought was somewhere in the dungeons. He certinally wasn't a fan of that idea. It seemed to be so... depressing. And he did not want to spend the rest of his life in some moldy, windowless room. But, would they really do that? Up until that point they really did seem make an effort to treat him with some sort of hospitality.

Well, what would be the next option then? A room of his own somewhere? But, would they really feel comfortable just letting him roam freely, unsupervised in their home (he didn't bear any kind of mailce, but they couldn't know it for sure, could they? He was pretty sure his fiance was telling the truth when he said he couldn't read his mind). Was it possible... he glanced at his betrothed could it they were to cohabitate? While the most logical conculsion when talking about a married couple, their circumstences were a little different. And honestly, he wasn't sure about how he felt sharing a room with someone who's scent was capable of undermining his judgement. But, well, he wasn't sure how he was feeling about being too far away from him either. He couldn't (although he would try his very damn best to) deny the fact he seemed to have some kind of a calming affect on him.

God, his train of thoughts was becoming embarassing. He needed to distract himself, to say something, anything, to change the subject. "It's weird seeing you not in a suite" okay, anything but that. Nice job jackass. He really, really needed to lose the habit of just saying the first thing that popped into his mind. Suddenly, a room in the dungeons didn't seem like such a bad idea after all.

Now that he was able to indulge himself, with the knowledge that this will be the only day that he would allow such ideas to flow without any criticism, Ravi could kind of see why he carried some small form of endearment towards his lover. The runt may be quick to anger, from the small interactions they had their first day of meeting, however, he also seems to be nice. An odd kindness that seems to show in a bundle of shyness and reluctance, yet kindness to say the least. Maybe it could be that they're no longer yelling at one another with intent to kill that's making Ravi feel this way. Maybe it's their mutual feelings towards being forced into this arrangement their parents up. Either way, even though he is letting himself freely indulge in these thoughts, Ravi has to keep in mind that they will never be close. A harsh but truthful statement that he wishes he did not have have to consistently remind himself. (He also wishes it was not true to some extent.)

Ah, it's troublesome, really. He knows that he must be the only one to have such problems at the moment, he highly doubts the wolf is having such an internal crisis. (Ravi hates himself a bit for even doubting the doubt, which is nonsense.) Clearing his thoughts for now, Ravi turned his attention back towards his fiance. Tilting his head to the side; why was the runt offensive over him asking to carry the bag for him? It was a subtle thing, yet he noticed the small detail all the same. Another thing, Connor seems quick to defend himself over the smallest of things. "I never alluded that it was." He explained, shrugging a bit. Honestly, Connor was quite the oddity. (An oddity that's effectively submerging himself into his thoughts.) Oh well. "Ah, I knew you would be a bit uncomfortable with sharing the same chambers with myself. So your chambers will be down the hall from my own."

Ravi was not comfortable enough to share the same quarters with the small wolf, however, he did not trust his brother enough to let his fiance have his own hallway to himself in the manor. Not when mother and Samuel are here. No, no that will not end well. Though, even then, he's unsure if even Connor would be willing enough to share the same chambers. (Ravi himself is not, not yet, he believes. There's just, too many things to explain that leads back to a lost past that he is not yet willing to share. Nor ever recall again, if he could help it.)

He raised an eyebrow, a small smile tugging on his lips at the abrupt subject change from his fiance. "Is it," he questioned, glancing down at his own outfit of choice. "And here I thought it looked flattering on me." Ravi teased, trying not to laugh as he pouted a bit in a facade of worry. It should not be so easy to tease the small wolf like this, it's a bit dangerous to have such knowledge. Ravi might abuse this power in the near future, mostly likely in a few hours. But, he does not want to do it too often, not wanting Samuel to gain this knowledge as well. (Why was that of concern; not wanting to share something he discovered about the runt himself with his brother? He wants to lie and say it's because he simply does not want Connor to be bombarded with a pair of vampires always teasing him. So, it would be better if it was just one. Just him.)

"But," he began, trying to ignore the sudden thought that shook him a bit. "Since you are not yet familiar with the manor, I can show you to your room." Ravi suggested; he hopes that Samuel was off in his own side of the manor, mostly because he is no mood to deal with his stupidity at the moment. Of course it has little to do with the fact that he was still selfishly wanting to spend alone time with his arranged lover for a bit longer before they half to go off and practice for the up coming ceremony. That would not make any sense. (Ravi knows this illogical idea is still something he felt, yet decides to deny it as much as possible. The best course of action for himself while that scent of the wolf was fogging his senses.)

Well, the room arrangement seemed to be the one that would make the most sense (what do you mean a little dissappointed about not sharing a room? Who is?). This way he wouldn't be inturding too much, and yet the vampires would still be able to keep an eye on him. He also had to admit that being in a realtive close proximity to someone else (to Ravi his inner voice tried to hide behind a very obvious caugh) made things just a little better. Seeing he grew up in a house that was more like a train station considering the amount of people that were always coming and going, he was a little aprehansive of a life in complete solitude. He may not have been a huge fan of the never ending mayham in their house, but he was suspecting the complete silence could actually make him go insane. Plus, at least it wasn't the basement.

Hearing the way the other teased him after his idiotic slip up, he couldn't help but roll his eyes. "Oh please, you sound just like your mother" he retorted. frankely, at that moment the resemblance was uncanny. The only thing missing was the blunt flirting. "As if you can wear something that is unfalttering on you" he muttered under his breath. Although he could feel a familiar rush of heat to his cheeks as he, once again, thoughtlessly blurted out whatever the hell came to his mind, he couldn't really argue with that. After all, from their first meeting he didn't have a choice but to admit his arranged lover was handsome (although, he had a feeling it was part of the package when it came to vampires. Somehow, it seemed his entire new family seemed to posses this annoying quality of looking effortlesly beautiful- each in their own way).

More embarrasing than the light pink in his cheeks, was the small happy leap his heart made when his fiance offered to show him to his room. "Yes, that would be helpful" he quickly said as he reached down to pick up his bag once again "thanks". As he leaned forward, the small golden circle on his neck tried escaping its prison (although it was only the necklace itself that was showing), but as soon as he noticed the gollden links loosely hanging from his neck he quickly shoved it back in as he straightened. Actually, now that he was thinking about it, what exactly was he suppoused to do with it? Should it be kept secret until the ceremony when he would exchange it with his lover? Are there some special preperations to be done before the exchange? (he doesn't know vampire wedding traditions okay?).

"Well, lead the way I guess" he said as he straightened back up again, his golden eyes looking up at his fiance's face. Now that he was thinking about it, he should probably figure out a little more of the details about the ceremony he was about to partake in in less than a month. Right now, with all the madness of the move, the only thing he really knew was the amount of people his father wanted to invite- which wasn't small, much to his dismay. The details about the ceremony itself, besides the things he heard on his latset visit to the manor, were pertty much unknown to him (he had the small suspicion his father tried avoiding the subject on purpouse, in case it would being about a new wave of objections).

"Say..." he opened as he shadowed his betrothed footsteps "about the ceremony. You said it's held in Romanian? Is there, like, anything I need to learn?" his brows pushed together at the thought. Actually, if there were, just how much was there? And how was he suppoused to learn it? Unconciously, his free hand reached once again to play with the small pendant through his shirt. It would be really fucking embarrasing if he would fuck up his vows in front of a room full of vampires (his own clan giving hell was a given, and he should be used to it by now, but he would not tolerate being ridiculed by the bloodsuckers for the rest of his life.

It was a pleasant distraction from the more important things, the teasing. In a way, it calmed himself down from the variety of answers his mind provided as Ravi attempted to figure out his initial feelings towards the small wolf. (Granted, he has already concluded why he was feeling such a tiny protective fondness towards the runt. However, he is only calling it curiosity of a different species and being influenced by an intoxicating scent like drug and nothing more. He does not believe he could handle the true answer if he called it anything else.) The feign pout on his lips stretched out into a grin, raising his eyebrow down at the small wolf; Ravi's somewhat surprised at being compared with his mother, it's usually Samuel. For very obvious reasons. (Then again, he nearly forgot that his fiance is not aware of such reasons.)

"Oh?" Well, that was more than a bit of a shock; the runt found him. . . attractive? That, was an unsuspecting statement that Ravi never once wondered he would ever hear come from anyone that did not have an ulterior motive, let alone Connor. It was, nice. Honestly, that was putting the sudden warmth that expanded within his chest very lightly. It was more than 'nice', more than a simple feeling of acceptance. But, Ravi is still not calling it nothing else but transparent curiosity. Ah, but, the runt really does blushes quiet beautifully. Swallowing down the bubbling excitement, Ravi hummed as he advanced towards his lover. Lifting his hand up to rest it gently against his cheek. (He almost forgot how warm the runt was compared to himself, how soft his skin was. Ah, no. He should not be distracted by something so trivial.)

Leaning in, Ravi whispered lowly, his eyes never straying from the other's; "*Dragul meu , poți te rog să nu mai fii chiar atât de adorabilă?" That, was not what he initially meant to say. It must be the scent, when he moved in closer, it most likely clouded his senses and made him say something that he did not mean. (No, he meant every last word that fell pat his lips with no warning, Ravi just did not want it to enter the open like this. Or to be acknowledged by himself so bluntly.) Moving a step back, grin still firmly in place despite the internal conflict, he watched as the other grab his bag from the floor. Though, his eyes were more trained on the gold necklace that entered his vision. He could not see much, however, he still respectfully glanced away as the small wolf hurried to hide the chain once more. Though it was not tradition, it was an unspoken one. To not see the gift that was to be given by their lover at the ceremony. Granted, all he saw was the chain and nothing more. What the necklace actually looked like was still a mystery to him.

When Connor was ready, Ravi began to lead the way up the flight of stairs. Making sure to keep his pace a bit slower than he was use to so that his fiance could keep up. His side of the manor was a bit far, more nestled in the back where the windows could easily look out towards the gardens and see the sun set in a clash of orange. Which is another reason why his side of the manor was more dull in light, the curtains having to be thicker so that the rays of sunlight did not seep in and burn him. A risk Ravi was willing to take. Though, he wondered if that would be a problem for Connor. (It shouldn't be, the runt seems to know his way around the dark quite well.)

Ah, the ceremony. "Well, Romanian is a very complex language. With its own female and male conjugations of a variety of words." He paused, was the runt really willing to learn the language in order to do the ceremony properly? That, should not make him happy. Why would such a polite gesture make him happy? "Though, considering the small time frame we were provided, you do not have to learn Romanian. You could do your vows in your own native tongue."

Getting to the top of the stairs, Ravi took a left. "And, what about yours?" He looked over at Connor, tilting his head. "Is there anything else I must learn about besides the tying of the hands?"

Dragul meu; my dear( if it's a dude)

Poți te rog să nu mai fii chiar atât de adorabilă?: Can you please stop being so cute? (too cute omfg)

When he was told he would have to move in with a clan of vampires, Connor could think of quite a few things that would put him on edge- the obvious anomosity, different lifestyle and particular diet were only a few. His fiance's behaviour, however, was not one of them. He was having a hard time understanding why did he react the way he did whenever Ravi got close to him. He could maybe explain the acceleration of his heart by some kind of a flight or fight instinct kicking into action (or at least that's what he's going to tell himself). But he can not, for the life of him, explain the urge he has to touch him. Maybe it's curiosity- their skin seemed so different, not only temperture-wise, but also in texture. Maybe he can blame that scent. Ah, that ridiculous, intoxicating, addictive scent. He was hoping that maybe he could get used to it, but it seemed its effect on him was only getting stronger.

He was also, all of a sudden, even more anxious about the whole Romanian thing. If in the beginning it was more or less obvious his betrothed used it only when he wanted to insult him in some way, now it wasn't as clear. And, well, he wouldn't particulary mind if not for the fact that his lover's words, those whose meaning he could not understand, were making him feel... well, like that. Like they were meant for his ears only. Like other things suddenly didn't matter. And if that was his response to something he couldn't understand at all... that simply won't do. It was like he was being... domesticated. He can't let that happen. And yet, he once again found himself relaxing into the palm against his cheek, his eyes magnatized to those that held his gaze captive, and his breath adjusting itself to match that of Ravi. Yes, his response was more than alarming. And yet, despite all of that, he couldn't say it was unpleasant or unwelcomed.

He could't help but think of all those things as they were walking, paying little to no attention to the response he got to the question he himself asked. The memory from only mere minutes ago (could he even call it a memory? It was more of a lingering feeling, really) was somehow still making his heart beat in excitment (nerves from the move, if you would ask him, although even he did not found that excuse very credible). The fact he was sticking a little close to Ravi wasn't very helpful either, and although he told himself it was simply because he didn't want to get lost in the dark manor until his eyes got used to the dim light, he still couldn't ignore the effect of his smell on him, especially when they were this close. Actually, this near-contact situation was quite frustrating. It was like someone placed a mouth watering dish in front and told him not to eat it. It almost made him want to touch Ravi more (he would not think too deeply about the fact he actually wanted to touch him. It wouldn't be good for his mental sanity).

Eventually, the fact he wouldn't have to learn Romanian for the wedding did manage to register with him on some level. Although he did admit he wanted to learn the language only moments ago, that was still a relief. There really was not much time until the ceremony, and if the language was as complicated as his betrothed painted it to be... well, that seemed to be for the best. But that brings about another question- what is he going to do about the vows? Was there some kind of a default version, some kind of traditional wording the vampires used? For them, there was a standart set of vows used in every ceremony, and in most cases the couple would add their own vows. But, well, they weren't really a couple, were they? What vows could he write to exchange with Ravi? That single question was sending his brain into a whole new loop.

Thankfuly, being asked a question he cuoldn't focus on that too much. He would have plenty of time to stress about it later. "Semper fidelis, aere perennius, uno sumus animo*" he murmured as his hand grazed against Ravi's, as if hinting to what it would be touching when they would be blessed using those ancient words that symbolized not only the relationship between both partners, but between them and the clan as well. "But you don't have to know it" he offered a smile that was somewhat a little dissapointed. He couldn't really understand why would feel that way about Ravi not saying the words. After all, only the person officiating was required to say those words. The couple saying them together with the pastor was simply a tradition, a symbol of love and commitment, nothing more. He wasn't even sure if he would feel comfortable saying them himself, so why was his chest feeling this hollow?

"I think" he opened again after pulling himself out of his thoughts "there isn't much about the ceremony itself. It's more the after you should know. You know, the whole blessing thing" he glanced at his fiance, wondering what he thought about that somewhat strange tradition. Even though he didn't admit to it aloud, he always thought some people took this one tradition a little too seriously. Basically, they believed that after being wedded, the couple had some kind of inclination to provide good fortune and share their happiness with the rest of the clan. Something about their spiritual energy being different on that day (maybe he should have listened better to the elders when they were talking... but it was always so tedious). "You really don't have to do it if you don't want to though. I can't really stop them from coming to me" he rolled his eyes "but I doubt it they would come to you. So if it's too much just... stay away from me, I guess. That should do the trick". Although he tried making his tone as light as possible as he spoke, he almost cringed at his own words as soon as he told Ravi he can stay away from him. For some reason, the thought was making him feel... restless.

Semper fidelis: always faithful

Aere perennius: more lasting than bronze (literal translation). Meaning: something that would outlast many things- in time and effect.

Uno sumus animo: we are of one soul

The walk towards the chambers assigned to his arranged lover feels like a long one. All he could hear was the rapid beating of the other's heart (Ravi had little idea as to what caused the organ to increase in pace and stay at such a hasty pace), and all he could smell was the bitterly sweet scent the runt was giving off. It made him question what he just did earlier, what he said. In a sense, he meant it, meant every word. And yet, Ravi felt fearful at this acknowledgement. It, evidently, changed everything in a short amount of time. And this was simply day one of them living together. It has to be because of that smell, he thought to himself. Trying as best as he could to keep composure as he walked side by side with his fiance. The other's body heat radiating towards him so effortlessly.

Yes, yes it was the scent's doing. He merely thought of the runt as an unobtainable snack that was constantly dangling in front of him like a promise filled treat. Acidic bile burned in the back of Ravi's throat; Lord, he really is a monster. Deciding to think about this in full later, he kept up the act of being composed. Continuing to walk down the hall that grew darker due to the lack of light the further they ventured inwards towards his side of the manor. He was able to make such a effort easy, thanks to the foreign words that fell from Connor's lips, which made him frown a bit. What language was it? He's never heard it before, and, it sound musical. The way the runt pronounced each vowel and consonant of the language with fluid ease.

The abrupt touch to his hand, the sudden feel of soft warm skin, made Ravi jolt just a tad. He didn't pull away, but he did jump at the contact. Ah, if this keeps happening he doesn't know how much of this internal conflict he could take. Ravi's frown deepened; why did it seem as if the runt was disappointed? He wanted to use his power and force his fiance into telling him what was wrong, but, that would be an invasion of privacy. No matter how tempting. (It's very tempting.) Hesitantly, he threaded his fingers with the runt's, gently holding his hand as he gave the small wolf a tiny smile. "I would not mind learning it, Connor. It sounds simple enough." Though, it took him so long to learn the English language. Even longer to correctly use it. But, he thinks even he himself could repeat such a simple pattern of phrases with maybe a few errors here and there. (If it would make Connor happy. No, it's...for himself of course.)

Ah. He almost forgot about the blessing. The one joy Ravi was going to find in the forced ceremony his mother arranged. The future event made a sadistic smirk slowly curl his lips; oh, he could not wait. It was the only thing he was looking forward to. But, he glanced down at Connor, his fiance seems to think he thought otherwise. This is becoming more bothersome, how the more he gets to know the small wolf, the more that weird feeling seems to grow in size within his chest. (Again, it must be because of the scent. He was smelling food, and nothing else.) He also loathes how when the runt told him to stay away, something sharp went through his form. Ravi squeezed the hand within his own softly; "If it seems that troublesome for one person, wouldn't it be better if I were to stay by your side?" He questioned, turning right down an even darker corridor. They were nearly there.

"Besides, a vampire blessing babies?" Ravi chuckled, mirth glinting in his eyes. "Oh, I would enjoy doing that. Just to see the looks on their faces." It was too tempting for him not to do so.And, it seems to be of importance for the runt. Damn, why was the other's happiness so important to him? Is it even out of some form of being polite anymore, or, did he simply want to see a smile on his fiance's face? (This is more than troublesome for Ravi.)

Why was it, that whenever he spent time with his fiance things seemed to be making less sense? The feeling of long fingers gently intertwining with his was unsettling to say the least. Problem was, it wasn't unsetlling for the right reason. Logically, he knew that what he should be concerened about was the close physical contact with a vampire. And yes, he does know they agreed to be civil, and he is glad that the suffocating distaste from their first encounter was gone, and he already came to terms with the fact his fiance seemed to be a very touchy person. He already knows all of this, and shouldn't it be a good thing that they are able to get along well? Wasn't he the one that wished they could do exactely that? But this was taking being civil to a whole new level. Dare he say, it was even fondness (something he might just be feeling towards his betrothed). The alarming thing was how easy and natural it all felt, how fast a life-long cultivated determination to detest the other, see him as something living in a world completly different than that of his own, simply crumbled into nothing. While he could excuse the other grabbing his hand by the need to lead him in the growing darkness, he couldn't use the same reasoning on himself. At this point, his eyes were perfectly adjusted to the darkness and he had no problem whatsoever seeing where he was going, as well as memorizing the way- for future referance. He couldn't escape from the simple fact that while the other might have held his hand without much thought behind it, he didn't let go because he found it pleasant, reassuring even.

The most alarming thing though, was the fact it wasn't enough. Whenever Ravi touched him, it seemed that almost by instinct he wanted to further close the distance between them, to feel more of his fiance. That urge was idiotic at best, and suicidal at worst.

He knew he should fight that urge, the he shouldn't succumb to that ridiculous feeling, but the fact Ravi decided to smile at him like that while he insisted he would learn the words wasn't fucking helping. Why was he doing it? Why was he willing to make the effort of doing something that was completly unneccesary? Was this his idea of civil? If it was, he would almost rather going back to the blatant hatred of the first night (no you don't), because quite frankly, this was just making him more confused. It was shocking just how easily he was coming to like his betrothed, more so by the fact they barely knew each other. He really didn't like the feeling he had so little control over his feelings. Still, a little answer smile stretched across his lips as he answered "if it's really okay with you I'm sure you can learn it easily. Actually, I'm a little surprised you don't speak latin" he wasn't sure why though. And the thought he would have to not only teach him the words themselves, but the meaning behind them as well was a little unsettling in a whole different way.

Ah, but he did get a good dose of reality when Ravi talked about the whole blessing thing. How idiotic of him it was to feel happy by the other's offer to stay by his side, he thought. And how annoying was the fact that, despite clearly stemming from some kind of a sadistic enjoyment at the discomfort of others, he was still feeling this spark of happiness seeing the other this thrilled. He needed to remind himslef that the fact he was probably losing his own sanity didn't mean Ravi was losing his. "Don't be an asshole about it" he snapped, relcutently tearing his hand away from his lover (he really needs to work on his self control and lose that bad habit of just getting carried away by his own delusions). "For a lot of them it's not a joke, you know" he glared at his fiance as he planted himself in his place.

Ugh, but being so snappy wasn't a good thing either. The last time he reacted like that without thinking things went south very quickly, and he did not want to experience that same blazing loathing again. Besides, it seemed like Ravi was really trying, he reminded himself. The only problem was the fact he projected his own stupid expectations on the other. Find the fucking balance, he reminded himself as he took in a deep breath. It really was hard though, and his fiance's confusing attitude wasn't making it any fucking easier. "I just... I don't want to see anyone getting hurt, okay?" he added in a lower voice after a moment, joining Ravi once again while very purposely avoiding his eyes. It would seriously bother him if a fight broke and one of his clan members got hurt. Although, in such a scenario it was more likely the one being attacked would be Ravi. And... he doesn't want to see him getting hurt either. The thought alone was making something resembling panic to settle into his chest. By this point, he had no choice but to accept that newfound fondness towards his betrothed (and deal with that annoying pest later, when he'll have the time and ability to think properly).
