It was that which we called dawn.

Though fleetingly so did it turn into dusk.

Through the changing seasons,

my eyes followed the outburst of colours

both throughout the sky and down on fields.

Though soon after named so did it turn into dust.

Barely I could breathe, for winter remained within.

Seasons never changed again,

my eyes wandered wide and long -

to see you, to find you, to trust you.

 

Needed I never such a proof again,

that kept me right, that kept me saint.

 

It was that which we forgot.

Though shall it never be recalled.

Because it brings pain, it brings drain.

Dawn and dusk kept reshaping,

stilling the agony I felt in the cage

that held a heart no more.

 

Bare before you do I stand,

with a care of being judged less.

For, my beloved, by the end of all

you should know, we are too small

and we do vanish without being whole.
