Weight 60 Kg

Occupation: Student

Appearance: Blonde, with dark eyes, longer-then-usual hair and a smile almolst always on his face, Akio is not an easy teen. He usually wears whatever is confortable, allthough a red or purple hoodie is almolst always in order. He leaves his hood up almolst everytime, mostly because he thinks he looks cool like that. Byography: Akio grew up with his grandmother, never having met his parents. Recently, he moved out to study and started living alone. He practiced kendo since his early years, since he was allways energetic and happy. He also loved skateboarding from early age, but after his 13th byrthday, he discovered games, and that got his attention more then anything else. He pretty much dedicated his free time between skateboarding, kendo classes and his computer. He recently got a 3DS from his grandmother, wich only helped him in spending even less time studying. A few days ago, he found an abandoned Chowchow and took him in, naming him "Hairy".

Personality: Not easy can pretty much define Akio's personality. He's a good hearted guy who likes to help others, but he is also a little too eletric, wich get people thinking of him as a delinquent. Anyone who sees him with Hairy will notice that's a false belief. Still, he's hard-headed, strong-willed and does not like to study, wich doesn't help his image all that much.

The sky above the crystallized river was an onslaught of white pellets; gleaming like shattered glass. It was early in the morning, approximately 7:30 A.M., and the cold, beautiful weather continued as it should. Hayashi Kakami, an aspiring veterinarian, was walking to his morning classes like he had been daily for the past few years. Realizing that he would be late if he continued at his leisure pace, he quickened his slow footsteps. The snow crunched under his black boots and his red scarf flowed from behind as he ran. As he moved through the think snow, he came to a stop at a completely ice-covered river. Completely forgetting about the time, he looked up towards the sky and smiled. All was peaceful, and so was he.

Beautiful.

His thoughts were interrupted as he remembered the time. Brown eyes widening in realization, he turned his back towards the blue river and quickly headed towards the University of Tokyo.

Kakami had just made it his first class, animal science, with approximately thirty seconds to spare. A sigh of relief was let out as he seated himself at the back of the room. He took off his thick black jacket and got ready for another long, tiring, but enjoyable day. In just four more classes, he would be home, greeted by his beautiful Shiba Inu named Orange, and resting in bed with soft, classical music playing the background. The prospect of it made him ever the more eager to finish up the morning with vigor and finesse.

Arriving home to the sounds of excited barking, Kakami greeted his beautiful companion with a dazzling white smile, a hug, and a "I'm home." He tiredly walked over to his green closet, in hopes of changing into more comfortable clothing. He settled for blue pajama pants and a white t-shirt. The sounds of pattering footsteps came to stop as a thump was heard. Sighing, he realized that Orange had jumped on his bed again.

I've been spoiling her too much.

Once he finished changing, he grudgingly moved towards his king-sized bed and plopped down face-first next to Orange. He turned on his music player stationed on his bedside table and soon, soft, classical music began to play. The world went dark as his eyes flickered to a close.

Akio finished his tea and left his tray at the counter, saying goodbye to the lady on the other side, whom he already knew after going every day to that caffe for the last month for breakfast. It was convenient, since it was at the entrance of Ikebukuro station and was really cheap. The boy went to the ticket machine, inserte a 500 yen coin, got his change and ticket and went to the plataform to get on the subway. Crowded, like everyday around that time.

Akio got to an empty space close to the end of the car. Since his station was still a little far, he could afford to navigate his way out trough the crowd when he got closer. Plus, the car usually emptied a lot on the station before his. Aki started lightly napping while he waited for his station.

"Next stop: Ueno. Ueno. Connection with Ginza Line and Hibyia Line. The Left doors will open."

At Ueno Station, lots of people left the car, leaving a lot of empty chairs that would soon be filled. Akio moved closer to the door, since his station was up next. He jumped of at Okachimachi station and took a look at his smartphone. 07:18. He still got some time untill classes starded, so he decided that there was no need to rush. He walked to the bus station and waited for the Hongo-Sanchome line's bus.

It was 07:29 when he left the bus close to the University of Tokyo. He had just crossed the street closer to the Akamon when a brown-haired rushed past him. He smiled as he watched the guy rush in the university. Akio made a left turn once inside the university and entered the first building. Many people wandered how could a guy who never studied be taking Pedagogy. Well, truth is he never studied because he had a very good memory, so he would pay attention in the classes and learn everything from the explanation, leaving afternoon studies to be somewhat boring. His grades weren't exceptional, either, but he usually graded enough to pass, so that was good enough.

He got inside the class maybe five or ten seconds before his teacher. He discretely said hi to the people closer to him as the class started. From that second on, Kunagawa-Sensei, of Introduction to Psicology, had his full attention.

The morning went by quickly, and the sun was high in the sky as Akio started heading to the bus station. Daisuke and Fumio were beside him. Those guys had been his friend since before Akio could remember, and it was thanks to them that he started playing Wings of Aeteria. Some veterans were around, inviting people for the KomabaSai - a festival that took place every year in May, at the Komaba campus.

Being a freshmen himdelf, Akio knew about the festival just from hearing of it. This year, albeit being his first, he would partake in the festival with the Kendo Team. He were accepted at the Kendo team the day he applied, since he was pretty good at it, having trained since an early age. He got the position of Third Man, being a lot faster then he was strong.

Another bus ride, another subway ride, another fifteen minute walk and he was back home. He left the elevator and walked towards his appartment. He could hear the movement inside. As he opened the door, he was greeted by Hairy jumping on him.

--Chill, boy - he said - You're getting too big for that.

Akio pushed the dog aside and knelt beside him, caressing his head. He closed the door and locked it, and went towards his bedroom, with the Chowchow walking besides him, making a party of him being home. Akio played with the dog a bit before changing and booting his computer. He logged in to Wings of Aeteria and started playing. Soon after, Daisuke logged in, with Fumio right after that. Fumio was playing as a Defender and Daisuke had his role as a Sorcerer, they were both damagers, while Akio had a much more Supportive role. Well, actually, Ganakar, Mahoi and Mihako would be more appropriate names, since they were their avatars ingame. They decided to try for the Ebon Tower Maze, a Party Quest that required at least five people. They pretty much could handle it on their own, it was not specially hard, but they would still need a foruth and a fifth player to be able to go inside. Well, actually yhey would need only one more person, since Akio could use Mihako's Mixed Guardian to summon one of his monsters as a partymate. Hence, they went to the Central Plaza to look for someone.

A disturbance rung in the air and a whine came from the side. As his consciousness came to life, Kakami's groggy eyes opened up to see his phone alarm ringing and Orange writhing in her sleep. His afternoon nap had ended too soon, much like the other days, and it wasn't enough to satisfy his tired being. When he turned to the side to turn off his phone alarm, Orange's tossing and turning went from wild to being stilled. A chuckle arose from his own broad chest and Kakami's hand caressed his companion for what seemed like 20 seconds. Kakami sat up from his bed despite his body's protest and began to walk towards his small bathroom to wash up.

With his coffee mug in his hands, Kakami began to look about his apartment, satisfied with what it has given him. Although it was small complex, it was cozy, with a nice exterior and interior, and it allowed large pets as well. Kakami had used up many hours of his life just to find a place like this, but it was worth it. From the outside it looked like every other place next to it, a door and a number. On the inside however, it was place unique to the rest. It was a one bedroom, one bathroom, one kitchen, and one living room apartment. The walls were painted beige and the floors were smooth tiled. It was normal, but it was perfect in Kakami's eyes. There was still some light outside and the clock showed it to be around 5 P.M. Conflicting emotions were revealed as decisions had to be chosen; he wondered if he should get started on his giant stack of school work, or relax for a bit more. He decided on the latter, but it would only be for a bit.

Just one hour.

Kakami was never much of a gamer to begin with, but recently he began to think otherwise. He sat and spun in his grey chair waiting for his black monitor to turn on and as soon as it did, he immediately clicked on the icon labeled Wings of Aeteria. As the title screen popped up, angel wings came into view. He had recently found this game while searching for things to do to save him of his boredom. He clicked on his main character; Aurelius, a level 65 twin swords guru and a level 35 sub-class dancer. His role was more offensive than anything, and he liked it that way. Ever since Kakami began this game, all he ever did was train, hence the high level that he had reached. This resulted in him being friendless. Deciding to change that, he tried for the Central Plaza in hopes of finding a companion. It didn't take long.

Mihako: How hard is it to find a Melee Damager when You need one?

Mahoi: It's getting dark outside, already. Wanna give up?

Ganakar: Well, I'm OK with that. No Berserker likes doing Ebon anymore, since they nerfed the Legendary Axe.

Mihako: Ok, I'll dismiss the rec... Wait, one more aplicant, let's see.

Mihako used the command to open up the Party Recruitment Screen. It was filled with more grey squares with red "X"es then usuall. Lots of healers, defenders, sorcerers and even another Curse-Weaver had applied (and Curse-Weavers are rare, being a fully-supportive class), but there was this new square with the picture of an elf with long dark hair. Akio read his name out loud.

--Au-re-li-us. Aurelius. Funny name.

"Elf... Probably another Nature-Bender coming for a Nenrei Set", he thought. But then when he opened the "More Info" screen, a smile appeared on his face.

Mihako: Oi Guys, a Blade.

"Blade", short for Lord of the Blades was how they called a full-offense melee damager class. Exactly what they needed, but his equips. "This guy has never done a Party Quest, has he?" Not a single "set" equip on him, no Synchro Soul at all. Well, Akio and his friends were fully equiped, so they could as well deal with Ebon on themselves, so the guy not being properly equiped was not a problem, but most likely, Mihako would have to leave the Guardian locked on him to avoid him dying. Well, it was not like they could afford being picky in a time like that. Mihako accepted him on the team.

Mihako: Welcome onboard, Aurelius. I'm activating the teleporter. Have You done this before?

Ganakar: 'Ello.

Mahoi: Hi there.

As the messages were coming in, a "Loading" bar appeared on the screen, as Mihako activated the teleport and they were being transported to the entrance of the Ebon Tower Maze.

The entrance room was a long, circular room, with black walls all around. A big metalic door was behind them and another one was ahead of them. On the door ahead of them, there was a big lock, and one guard at each side of the door. Another NPC was on the room, a man with a long dark-blue robe, long white hair and long white beard, his name was "FortuneTeller", and he was the NPC that activated the quest.

A ding was heard as Aurelius was added into a party. Kakami didn't intend to be added to a party quest, but he guessed it wasn't his right to complain. He did come to the Central Plaza in hopes of finding some companions.

Kakami was bombarded with messages coming from the other members. A small smile made its way onto his face. He felt a slight movement next to his feet and looked down from the screen. Orange left her post on the bed and had came to lay by his side on the floor. With a sigh of contentment, he stroked her fur and went back to the task at hand behind the screen.

A "Loading Bar" appeared on the screen as the messages were being sent back and forth. One of the party members had activated the teleport.

Mihako was his name, I think. He seemed friendly.

They were to be going to the Ebon Tower Maze. He had heard of this quest before. It was an extremely difficult one and usually needed many Guardians and Healers to keep the offensive players alive. If the offensive melee players could keep their HP at a decent range, the Supporters would then be a massive help in eliminating the boss quickly.

Aurelius had no experience with party quests, no "set" equips on him, and no Synchro Soul at all. Kakami realized that he could easily die while being here, but he also realized that could depend on his party members to keep him alive. They must have known about his character stats, and yet they still accepted him.

They had arrived at the entrance room to the Ebon Tower Maze and Kakami took a quick note of Aurelius' surroundings. The room was completely black and circular. There were guards on each side of the big metallic door in front of them. The NPC that activated the quest was standing idle, waiting for the party that would come and complete his quest.

Kakami decided that it was a good time to check out the rest of his party's information. He first opened the "More Info" screen for Ganakar, the Guardian, then Mahoi, the Healer, then lastly, he opened the screen for Mihako, the Curse-Weaver. What caught his eye the most on Mihako's character stats was that he was a Kitsune Youkai, a fox demon.

Kakami was cut off from his thoughts as the NPC began to speak; 'FortuneTeller' was his name.

FortuneTeller

Thank you for having accepted this quest. The requirements will be that you all will need to be above Level 55 and that the minimum number of party members will be 4. The goal of this quest will be to defeat each boss at each level and kill the main boss of the Ebon Tower Maze at Tower Level 100. The bosses and enemies will get more harder to defeat as you go up. You will be rewarded with splendid gifts that you will be able to choose when you return. I wish you the best of luck.

The doors started opening with a huge sound as everyone got ready. Mihako's hand went up in the air as he recited the summoning spell. Soon, a huge horse-sized fox would appear besides him. The fox was covered in red fur and a stone armor made of red stones. Mahoi also recited his spell, but the effect was not visual. He then started casting his class buffs, increasing everyone's attack, defense, Maximun HP, Maximun MP, Maximun SP and regeneration rates for all of the above. Ganakar recited a spell also, but he was the only one affected by it.

With a click, the voice chat came on:

Mihako:Hey guys, can You hear me? Just activated voice chat for better coordination. Aurelius, this quest is actually easier then people say. Good coordination and team-work will allow us to go trough smootlhy. Stay close to my Mixed Guardian, he'll work as a secondary healer to the team, focusing You, while Mahoi will focus Ganakar. Mahoi's secondary job is Alchemist, so Your healing items will be stronger, too, should You need them. Since You're new, we'll try to make it slow and steady. The first floors should be pretty easy, things will get rough after floor 40. After floor 80 don't engage without a healer around You and after floor 95 it's Bosses Only Zone, so we'd better stick together.

Mahoi: Roger that. And by the way, if You've got any offensive skills with "Light" element on it, You might want to use them, the monsters in this maze are weak to it.

Ganakar: Shall we?

Ganakar put his both shields in front of his body while Mahoi's scepter went to his hand and a Dark Orb appeared floating over Mihako's hand.

Kakami heard new voices speaking through his speakers. One in particular had sounded much like a pubescent teenager. It was soft, yet scratchy.

Orange also heard the intruding sound. Her bark resounded throughout his room and despite the aggressiveness of her bark, it didn't take much to calm her down. "Good girl.", Kakami said affectionately to his companion. Not wanting Orange to bark again, as it might disturb the neighbors, Kakami quickly looked for his headset. Luckily, he had remembered to place it neatly in his desk drawer previously.

There will also be stat bonuses gained as well. In any case, if you want me to use it at any time at all, just tell me. Now, I believe we should get going now.

Aurelius had no spells to prepare as most of his skills were meant to be used in the spur of the moment. As everyone prepared for the adventure to come, all Kakami wished was that he wouldn't die too quickly.

Aurelius: Sorry for the delay, I had to grab my headset. My dog was barking at your voices. I hope you can hear me well. My weapon, it's called 'Prayer', has the 'light' element imbued into it. So technically, all my attacks will have it as well. I also have this skill called 'Campfire'. "His voice is so smooth, is he a singer or something?" Akio got himself thinking. The guy sounded like pretty much their age, but his voice was soft and easy on the ears.

Mihako: Don't worrie, I myself have a Chowchow and I know how they love to be on the mic, hehe. Thou Hairy is quite calm, today.

To that, Hairy simply lift his head to look at Akio, like saying that he noted the comment but was too lazy to react to that.

Mihako: Poor guy must be months old, I found him on a street close to home, abandoned, I took him to my grandma's to get his vaccines on a vet close to her place, but still gotta find a vet here in Tokyo to give him a full check up. But I digress, we should get going.

The team then proceeded to the first floor. That one was quite easy, so much so that they wouldn't even need to focus or gang up on monsters. Tha rythm would be kept untill floor 30, where a bit more of attention would be required.

Kakami was delighted to know that this Mihako also had a dog, just like him. They would have something to talk about it if the thought to do so came up again. Orange was technically the same, Kakami had found her in a animal shelter. One look at her and he had already know that she was the one he wanted. Knowing that Mihako was looking for a veterinarian, he had wanted to recommend to a few to him. He was a vet student after all. Kakami decided to have a talk with him later, after the quest was finished.

The first few floors were easy, each enemy could have been eliminated with one attack using Aurelius's blade. There was no need to have any healing spells used, the guardians' protection, or Mihako's support spells. Mihako's fox summoning stayed true and alive without much harm coming to it. Then came the 30th floor, things had gotten a bit harder.

Mahoi has had to heal Aurelius and Mihako more than twice beyond the 30th floor. Despite not having needed to use his offensive skills at all before, Aurelius had to use Vampire's Kiss just to keep the undead skeletons at bay. It was a dramatic increase in difficulty and it struck everyone by surprise. Kakami knew through the voice chat the others had voiced out their astonishment.

Finally completing the 40th floor, Kakami decided to suggest using his 'Campfire' skill to restore their HP, fix their weaponry, boost up their stats, and just rest for a bit before the next wave. They were in an icy tunnel, and it was free of any abnormalities.

Mihako: Sir, yes sir. Gosh, did they revamp the quest? It's harder then I remember.

Mahoi: Feels like it. Those lizards on last floor were stronger then before.

Mihako: Oh guy, if they did it to the whole dungeon... Imagine that freaking cyclops on 89.

Mahoi: Well, Y'all can thank me later, but I've stockpiled on "all cures"

Mihao: Genious.

At that point, they could hear from the mic's capture the sound of Aurelius returning.

Mihako: By the way, nice set of skills, Aurelius. And You're pretty good, either, I'm glad we picked You in the group, although You could surely use an equipment upgrade. So, why don't You tell us a bit about yourself? I know it's kinda inadequate asking personal info in online gaming, but You've heard us calling each other by name, plus I told You we're from Tokyo, so what about You? Who's the velvet voice behind Aurelius?

The cold, blue water felt like heaven as his the back of Kakami's throat. Kakami was never one to curse or use profanities, but he did so when an abundant amount of large lizards, or they could be called small dragons, had succeeded in surrounding Aurelius and assaulted him from all sides. He had no room for movement as his HP slowly decreased, he was helpless to control. Remembering back to the incident, he didn't know who had saved Aurelius from his impending demise as the person had used a move he didn't recognize.

Kakami aimlessly move his head to and fro as he stood in front of the refrigerator, and his eyes locked on with the clock sitting on his kitchen counter.

6:11 P.M.

A doom-and-gloom feeling crept up his body as he realized that the one hour that he given himself was up. His eyes drooped sadly, and he set the glass cup back on the table. Sighing, his feet grudgingly moved towards his bedroom, and he thought about what he should say to leave without feeling as guilty. He was leaving during a quest after all, that would mean the cancellation of the entire thing.

Kakami slumped back on his leather-covered chair and before he could say his intended guilty speech, a familiar voice spoke.

Kakami was slightly shocked, yet flattered, that Mihako thought his voice was velvety and that he wanted to know more about him. Conflicting emotions overwhelmed his entire being as he couldn't come to a decision. Kakami bit the side of his lip, a sign that he was feeling guilty for having come to that decision.

I'll just study for that exam tomorrow later. It should be fine.

Kakami's hum was guiltless and free. Procrastination wasn't that bad. His eyes caught a lump on the bed.

Ah. She's on the bed again.

Mihako: Tokyo University? Vet... That would be at health and biological sciences... Block D, right? Haha, That's awesome, we study a stree apart. I'm Education, first year, block C. We might just study a street appart.

Mahoi: I'm from Mathematics, Block G. First Year, also.

Ganakar: Block D. Medicine. Nice to meet You, Senpai!

Mihako: We could totally help You with Your equipments, there are some great quests for equip farming. Oh, since we're talking about University, are You guys going to KomabaSai? I heard it's a great festival. Have You ever gone, Aurelius?

Aurelius: Ugh, I feel old. I'm like...7 years older than all of you. In any case, I'd never thought I would meet people from the same university. I mean, being in the same prefecture would have been more likely, but university too? Cliche at is may be, I feel like fate has a role in our little predicament. Haha! That seems like a poor choice of words. I wasn't planning on going to KomabaSai, seeing as I had no one to go with but myself. I might just think otherwise if you guys are planning on going. About the equip farming, I would love it if we did some together. What did you have in mind? Also, this is sudden, but once we're done with our quest, I need to log off immediately. It's the usual schoolwork and exam cramming. Oh, let me add you as friends before I forget. Another question, have you ever been in the role play server before? I've heard about it. It's pretty popular, but I never really knew what exactly it was that you did there.

Kakami worriedly glanced at his alarm clock set on his bedside table. At this rate, he wouldn't even get a wink of sleep before class in the morning. He stared at the lump on his bed and petty jealously ran through his veins.

Why can't I laze around like her? Oh, the life of a human.

"Orange."

His usual smooth voice turned firm as it resounded and bounced off the walls of the room. Orange whined, clearly not liking the sudden attention. As if mocking him, she then decided to turn on her back. Her paws waved up in the air and she lazily fell into another deep slumber. Snorting, Kakami turned his attention back to the situation at hand.

Maybe I could just study while we're on our game breaks.

Deciding that that was the only choice, if not the best one, Kakami quickly stood up from his spinning chair and grabbed his first subject, animal science. He needed to write a one page essay on the steps in relieving a dog of its constipation.

Lovely.

Mihako: I was planning on going to KomabaSai, You know, being new to the university and stuff. And since You've got to go after the quest, let's get going, since this is still gonna be slightly time consuming.

Mihako got up and ready to get going. The "Friend Request" showed up on the screen.

Aurelius wants to add you as a friend.

Accept?

Akio clicked the "Yes" button and gave a quick glance at his cellphone to check the clock. 06:23 PM. That late allready? Maybe they would have to rush a bit , both because of Aurelius and because of himself. He had his kendo class at 09:00PM to 10:00PM.

Mihako: Well, let's worry about the equip farming tomorrow, then. For now let's finish the quest. I used to play at the RP server, but those two think it's a waste of time, 'no sense in roleplaying in a MMO', those kinds of things. I still got a few friends in there, thou. By the way, we should really get going, I wanna finish this quest before Kendo.

The quest had really been revamped, the next few floors were rougher then they had expected and by the 65th floor, Akio was allready worried that maybe they wouldn't make it. By the 70th floor, Ganakar had to go all out on his tanking skills after Aurelius took severe damage and Mihako had to go RenGenki on the mobs to save him, depleting his whole MP bar and more than 80% of his HP bar trough his Last Reservoir before his SP ran out and he was forcefully taken out of RenGeki state. Mahoi was being overwhelmed by players loosing HP faster then he could heal. The problem was only solved when Ganakar used his Iron Defense and both Mihako and Aurelius hid behind him. Mahoi kept the tanker alive while the Mixed Guardian worked on the slow healing of the damager and the support.

And that was not a silent process as Akio was screaming desperatedly in his headset, being joined by Hairy's barks after a few seconds. Only when the mob of monsters was finally dealt with he would calm down and make the Chowchow calm down.

Mihako: Sorry about that, guys. I overreacted.

Aurelius: Haha, that's fine. I don't know if you heard it or not, but my foot was thumping so loud on the ground, it made my dog growl at me because of all the noise. Your ChowChow has a lot of bark to him, or is it a her? But you know, I would love to meet him or her someday. Nice. I didn't take kendo, but I'm taking archery.

Kakami was in actuality, quite surprised with Mihako's very loud screaming. Who knew that voice could have so much power? It even made Orange bark quite a few times before Kakami was able to calm her down. Kakami imagined what the person on the other side of the screen looked like from the voice of its owner. He couldn't decide which image to pick, so he just settled for the real person when they met.

During the course of the the quest, the party has had many breaks for his 'Campfire'. Kakami was quite proud of how much he had finished despite being so absorbed into the game. He had completed three subjects, animal science, statistics, and calculus. He didn't know how, but he did it. He then decided that he would reward himself with a much needed nap before finishing his last subject, biology.

They were on their way to the 99th floor. Kakami was sure that he was going to die before they met the 100th floor. He didn't know how many close calls he had if wasn't for the other members of his party. As the gates to the 99th floor began to open, Kakami steeled himself for the battle to come. Aurelius activated Life Flare, in case he would need that one last HP. One HP could make a difference in the winner and the loser, and Kakami wanted to take that chance.

Kakami's hands felt like noodles. He had been clicking, typing, and writing too much and too hard for his hands to NOT cry in pain. His eyes stung and his mouth was dry.

Gaming does a lot to a person... even if that person was also doing schoolwork at the same time.

The Gigantic Creature before them was something else. Sure, it was stronger, they did revamp the whole thing, but it still had the same patterns, for wich Mihako was thankfull. The Kitsune boy was doing combos so fast that the float effect from his set equips was literally making him fly, he could be good 10 feet above ground and moving freely. He could pretty much dodge the attack patterns of the Cyclops by either changing altitude or by moving sidewards, but that was him, the ones on the ground were having quite a bit of trouble, mainly with the area of effect attacks.

Aurelius seemed to be struggling the hardest. Albeit beeing a good player, he was poorly equiped and completely inexperienced with dungeon bosses, wich made all of the bosses' patterns new to him. From time to time, Mihako had to scream instructions like "Duck", "Dodge", "Jump", and so on. Plus, as he did not know the cyclop's pattern, hitting the eye (his weak spot) was very hard to him. To that, Mihako had an idea.

Mihako: Aurelius, Jump!

As the fencer jumped up, Mihako landed an upward orb attack from the ground up. The orb landed bellow his feet and threw him up above the giant beast, allowing him to land precise and decisive hits to the giant's eye. That clever team-up between them allowed the party to beat the crap out of the cyclops. Now, there was only the dragon ahead of them. Last floor, last boss.

Mahoi: Oi, that was quite the combo, You too. I had no idea You could launch someone, Mihako.

Mihako:Well, it's nothing like the dragoon skill, but it works every now and then.

Exhilarating as their tag-team combo might have been, it left Kakami slightly disappointed in himself. He needed help, he needed too much help. Sure he's never done quests like these before, and his equipment was poor, but he never thought he would require so much assistance to even survive, let alone fight.

A sigh dismay left his chapped lips, and he grabbed the water bottle left there by him from yesterday. At least he didn't have to get up to get a new one. Low, deep, scratchy snores could be heard from behind him, Orange always slept too much. She was much like Kakami in that aspect, he supposed.

He was thankful for the help, but he hoped he sounded sincere. Negative emotions were easy to see when you're talking, not typing.

Kakami was tired, all he wanted to do was kill this last boss with some finesse at least, than do that last subject, then just sleep all night. He was never the type to be an eager beaver.

It was approximately 7:00 P.M as the clock on his monitor said. Albeit he had a lot time left, he liked to sleep early. That meant that he was able to wake up early, take Orange for a walk, get some exercise, and have some free time for himself. The mornings he usually experienced were quiet, and calm, the way he always liked it. The snow outside just makes it better, being so beautiful and elegant in its own way. Kakami felt like he could just sit down at his bedroom window and stare at the falling snow all day.

Kakami tuned his thoughts of mornings, sleep, and snow back to the game. As they walked through the large, black hallways of the next floor, Kakami noticed that it was different from the usual interiors of the dungeon that they usually saw. Being the last floor, it was understandable. But it left Kakami feeling nervous, and fidgety.

Surprisingly (and thankfully) the last boss went on smoothly, so much so that everyone was on edge expecting some trap or secondary boss or minion spawn or anything. It's not that the Ebon Dragon was, itself, easy, but the Game Devs didn't change his mechanics, so all of his attacks were known to the group and the three of them could easily instruct Aurelius on how to avoid them. At the end of the battle, his HP Gauge hadn't even reached the yellow 70%, and he still had some good 30% SP left when the dragon fell to the ground.

Mihako:That was easier then expected. Now time for the loots.

The old wooden chest covered in golden ornaments appeared in Akio's screen. If Wings of Aetheria had any "broken" aspect to it, it was loot division. The itens would go to the party leader first, so he could suggest divisions, and the players could each one contest one item. If two players contested the same item, they would roll for it, and the one with the highest result would win. Many party leaders would suggest all of the items to himself so he could be sure to get at least one rare item after the contesting. Akio, on the other hand, disliked that kind of division, and would rather do it properly, suggesting items for whoever they would better fit. With that in mind, he had no doubt in his mind to the nickname he would select when the Twin Swords Sacred Duty showed up. In a few seconds a reward box would appear in front of Aureliu's screen with the description of the swords

Sacred Duty

The Sacred Duty of Sun and Moon have always been to set the world on it's course. This pair of swords represent just that.

Synchro Soul: This Weapon works as a Synchro Soul Activator for the Archangel Set and for the Leran Set. While Sacred Duty is equiped along with one of those sets, it has the following effect: Sacred Duty allows the player to activate Daylight Mode and Darkness Mode. During Daylight Mode, the player's P.ATK, AGI, CRIT and A.SPD greatly rise, but his overall defense suffers a slight reduction. During Darkness Mode, the player's P.ATK, AGI, CRIT and A.SPD suffer from a slight reduction, but the player gains a "Night's Entangling Shield", wich gives him a 20% chance of ignoring any damage directet at him.

Mihako: Nice acquisition, Aurelius, now we just have to find an archangel set for You.

Kakami was quite surprised when a pair a colorful twins swords appeared on his screen out of nowhere. It was named 'Sacred Duty' and was seemingly powerful based on its description. A small grin placed itself onto Kakami's lips when he saw that it was gifted to him by Mihako. His eyes grew soft, his tender brown eyes sparkled with gratitude and turned a shade darker.

He wanted to meet them again, and maybe even more so with Mihako, though he definitely would not say that out loud. Despite being in the same university, it could be difficult to actually meet them in person, seeing as the campus was pretty large. The game would be a leverage, until he actually met them for real and talked face to face.

Kakami remembered when he was first invited into the party quest, a couple of hours ago. He didn't think that a party quest could allow him to meet new, decent people that would conspire to be his friends. And what a coincidence, for them to actually be from the same province and university.

Maybe fate was actually real. Maybe fate actually played its cards right for him this time.

Aurelius:Thank You, Mihako.

Aurelius: About the set, I would like it if we did that... maybe sometime tomorrow. We both have to leave soon I assume.

Mihako: True, indeed. 'bout the swords, don't sweat it, You would have the right to reclaim them if I didn't send them to You anyway, I just thought You would rather use your reclaim rights on any potions or average itens you might want. I always get pissed off when party leaders don't shre the good stuff, even if said stuff is not for their class, they keep it just to sell 'em later. Ugh. I'd rather distribute things fairily.

Then the general Reward window showed up to all the players in the party. Several potions, a bit of gold for each one, lots and lots of useless/purchasable stuff and one or two scrolls. Nothing for Curse-Weavers, Mihako noticed. Well, that was not unexpected, since the drops were made based on the ammount of players in a class on the server, and Curse-Weavers were really the oddball on WoA. Mihako used his right to reclaim on a Summoning Stone. It was a pretty average item, used for several secondary-jobs to activate special abilities. Summoner jobs like his, thou, went trough those like no tomorrow, so every stone counts.

Mihako: Well, let's deliver the quest and wrap things up for today, I gotta go to kendo class.

Everything went well nonetheless, the quest was delivered and Kakami had logged off with happy goodbyes and see you later's. Through checking his clock, he noticed that he had a couple of decent hours to spare to finish the rest of that schoolwork that he so delicately pushed aside for a computer game.

The game shut off, leaving an advertisement about Wings of Aetheria and the role play server that just got updated. Maybe he would visit it the next time, just to get the chance of a change of pace, inviting the others would be good he supposed.

As Kakami clicked the 'Shut Down' button on the desktop screen, a snore in the background left him feeling slightly worried.

How long had Orange been asleep? She was sleeping longer than usual. With his muscles tensed from all that game playing, getting up was proving to be difficult. As he spun around in his chair, his legs trembled as he got up from the onyx seat; his legs seemed to be disabling his ability to walk for a moment. He looked to the side, catching Orange just rolling over in her sleep, lying on his bed with her four paws dangling in the air, and looking as comfortable and relaxed as ever.

She was fine. At least, she looked like she was. Kakami made a note to give her a check up in the morning when she wasn't dreaming of chasing a squirrel. The benefits that came from being a Vet student when he also had a pet was wonderful and extremely useful. If it wasn't for his skills in the field however, the benefits would prove to be useless. He always thanked the world for his capabilities in the math and science field, as those classes were what his schedule usually consisted of. No matter how dreadful they were, he was just that good at the subjects.

He left Orange to her business, that he wanted his being to be apart of for the rest of the night.

As Kakami stretched his muscles for a bit and relaxed the knotted muscles in his thighs, the stack of papers and textbooks that were lying right on his desk seemed to taunt him. They spoke words of humor and content for his misery, enabling a scowl to form on his chapped lips and pretty face.

Ugh, I'll do you soon. Stop it.

He then moved back to the seat that would support him for the rest of the night, even if his own dog didn't want to. Chairs supported humans, he was grateful that it supported him when no one else did.

After closing the game and the ad on the new roleplay server of Wings of Aetheria, Akio clicked the start menu and shut down his computer. He waited for the whole shutting down to finish before moving, like hypnotized by the screen. When it finally went black and the sound of the computer's fan and CPU went silent, Akio pushed his chair away from the computer, stretching his legs and arms. That made Hairy decide to jump on him, wich almolst caused him to fall, chair and all.

--Hey, boy, easy.

He played a bit with the Chowchow and then went to his wardrobe to get his stuff for his kendo class. The night should be a bit cold, so Akio decided to change into warmer clothes. Leaving the appartment, Akio went straight down the elevator and from there to the streets. Once he left the building, the cold night air greeted him with a chill. He braced himself, noticing it was colder then he would've expected. He pulled his bonnet further down to cover his ears and closed the black overall he was wearing. The streets were still too slippery from the season, so he decided that the best approach would be to take the bus. He went down to the bus stop and waited for his line to come by, waving at it as it approached. He entered it, grabbed his ticket and went to a single sit beside the windows.

Looking at the night, starred, sky, Akio got himself thinking about that dungeon from WoA he just played. That Aurelius guy seemed nice. He was from the same prefecture, same university, same campus. Heh, that would be great, maybe he could try looking for the guy and saying 'hi' on the next morning. And then it hit him.

-I forgot to ask for his name! - he muttered to himself.

After paying the bus and climbing down, the boy went straight to the dojo. Being a third man, he needed to practice every day, and so he did. He greeted everyone on his way in and started his stretching and warm up. He finished warming up some two minutes before class started, time he used to catch up with his Senpais and Kohais. Today was technique training day, meaning the training would be a little less tiring and a lot more focused on form. In the sparring, Akio won more then he lost, wich was good and made him happy. After the training, the sensei gathered everyone and told them that they have been invited to perform a presentation at KomabaSai, and it was no surprise that Akio, the only one studying in the University of Tokyo, was part of the lineup for the presentation. Now he pretty much HAD to go to the KomabaSai, wich he was already willing to do.

When he left the dojo, the cold night air greeted Akio again. Was it him or it was getting colder? Heck, the winter had already ended, it should be getting warmer by now. Ignoring that thought, he went back to the bus station, and back to his place.

After arriving home and playing with Hairy for a bit, he went into a deep, warm bath, and then changed into his pajamas. From there, he went straight to bed. Much to his surprised, it was the memory of Aurelius's voice that kissed him goodnight as he dived into the deep, dark domains of sleep.

"He... Hey. Hey!"

Soft brown eyes snapped open. Although they were still glazed from sleep, most of it had disappeared with the masculine yell that had come from right next to Kakami. His ears were still ringing, the man had a voice too loud for his liking. He began to look around his surroundings, brows furrowing in confusing. Where was he? From where he was standing, it had looked like a bus. One of his arms were dangling from the rings above, still holding on tightly as if his life depended on it. The man from his side had began talking again. And to Kakami's delight, it was in a softer tone.

"You're a university student right? Here's your stop."

His stop? Wha—? His stop!

Realization began to hit like a tone of bricks. Today, he had woken up with a desk mark indented onto his cheek. Being the idiot that he was by playing video games the whole time, he had fallen asleep right as his desk the moment he had finished all of his schoolwork, plus studying as well. It was like his body had a mind of its own, alarm clock also embedded into it. After he had woken up, the next thing he knew or heard, was a random person yelling "Hey!" into his ear. The poor man couldn't even remember brushing his teeth, changing his clothes, eating breakfast, feeding Orange, or falling face first onto the snow then getting back up as if he was a zombie.

His eyes slowly widened and in a hurried voice, asked the man what time it was.

"It's 7:55 A.M."

"Oh my g—!"

As he wiped the dried drool from his lips, he began to show his gratitude to the man by gripping his shoulders, and yelling out a sober "Thank you sir!"

Laughing could be heard from behind. Snow crunched under his boots as he ran as if his life depended it, which it did he may add. He was always punctual, he was never late, and yet, he only had five minutes before there was a tardy left in his record.

Video games were evil, but he would just have to deal with it, because he wasn't going to quit now.
