Name: Neria

 

Race: Elder Slime

 

Age: Unknown

 

Description: Slimes are mindless creatures which act on their basic instincts to absorb flesh to gain nutrients, and after growing to sufficient size they'd then divide and multiply. While they can pose a threat to small animals generally speaking they are easy prey for hunters as they're very fragile and a single smash could break their core and make them into a puddle of dead goo. While some variations of the species exists such as poison slimes or giant slimes, these variations are only found in specific environments or deep inside dungeons, and even they are no match for a hunter with some modest experience.

 

From time to time a slime would get lucky and manage to absorb something powerful, perhaps the corpses of a strong monster or demon, and if the slime manage to absorb all the power without dividing it would become what is known as a Greater Slime. It would gain basic sentience and become more powerful and more intelligent with age, until finally becoming an Elder Slime, which at this point would be less of a slime but more of a demon as they'd typical take the form of more intelligent creatures such as humans.

 

Neria was one of such individual, having survived longer than any of his kin in the swamp and essentially became its ruler. From time to time hunters would venture into his swamp and he became fascinated by them, their appearance, their gear, their language, their culture, and so on. He began to capture those who ventured too deep into his domain and "analyze" them. Soon he wanted to know more, see more, experience more than just the dullness of the swamp, and just when he was about to leave and explore the world he was suddenly transported across the world and into a dungeon. Being a creature of magic he instinctively understood the role that was thrust upon him, he was bound to the dungeon as its defender and could never leave it nor damage it himself. Frustrated by the turn of events he had no choice but to obey his mission and wandered across the dungeon as its defender in the hopes of finding any clue that could help him regain his freedom. One day when he was looting the corpses of some unlucky hunters he came upon a magic book detailing the way to force monsters into contracts of servitude, usually used by mages to capture monsters and make them their familiar. This gave Neria an idea and he began experimenting. After a few failed attempts he managed to modify the magic to his own purpose, and all that was left was for the suitable subject to show up.

10 years ago, after ?the dungeon ?that connected the real world with the monsters world opened, some of the ordinary, everyday people received the power to hunt monsters within the dungeon.and one of those hunters name was Ritsu. they are known as ?hunters? however, not all hunters are stronge.for that reason hunter organization officials decided to gave each hunters one rank.and the lowest rank was Level E hunters.they are just being able to use inexpensive supplies for hunting and Ritsu was one of them. Despite knowing this.he thought he is strong until know and he does his best to fight the monsters.but what will happen if he confronted by a powerful monster?can he still get out of the dangerous situation like always?
