This one is the last guide to Hiragana. I had to split the whole thing since ,as you can see, it's pretty long and might stress mind out. Although my sensei was a sadist and got me studying both hiragana and katakana for only four hours. Khm,but it's another story.

To avoid getting any of you be lost in some maze of Japanese symbols,I will keep terms away from your head. If someone is curious how a certain thing is called,they can ask.

USAGE OF SMALL "ya" "yu" and "yo"

As you can see on the picture above,there are small hiragana versions of ゃ、ゅ、ょ. Basically,we are gonna use these versions when we want to write down a sound like "ja"(jya).

There is only one simple rule. All first symbols you put should be a normal size,not a small version,from the endings with 'i'(い).

And you see on the chart's picture,there are only symbols from the i-ending. Also,you can notice there are voiced symbols included such as 'gya', for example.

Important

When you want to make the ending sound longer,you add a normal size symbol. There are exceptions and I will tell you one thing,they aren't so common. When you study the word,it's said that it's an exception,so don't worry.

I'll make all verations now.

With long ending of 'A'

Sample:

Gyaa -> ぎゃあ

Or

Haa -> はぁ

With long ending of 'U'

Sample:

Gyuu ->ぎゅう

Or

Fuu -> ふぅ

With long ending of 'O'

Sample:

Gyou -> きょう

Or

Hoo -> ほぉ

With that said,I should mention how the double sound of consonant is done.It's pretty easy.We put a small version of hiragana 'tsu'

っin front of the consonant we want to double.

Sample:

Gakku -> がっく

That's all about Hiragana.

Now the rest up to you. You can ask all sort of questions,or simply go to the help center in the Japanese thread. (:

I hope it will help you a bit with your Japanese.

Thanks Saga, I didn't know about the double letters requiring a small kana, I just wrote it like this: はあ or ふう. XD

Yes, chiakai, because we love him (:

When it comes to hiragana and katakana, I should also be able to help if needed (:

I'm not great at the small letters, so I'm glad I got that. ^^

Because it is a rule? O_o'

Besides, people often get confused with the usage of 'ga' and 'wa'. I'll make a lesson for that. (:
