Pulling one glove up, Yi exists the vehicle as his chauffeur holds the door open for him. Glancing around he takes in the area without seeming interested in anything before he walks towards a restaurant before turning and walking down the narrow alleyway alongside it. Partway down the alley he goes down a flight of winding stairs to a door tucked neatly into a corner. The door opens and he is greeted by a bowing waiter who holds an arm out to invite the tall pale man into the establishment.

Yi ignores the man minus what seems to be an absent nod that is given as he walks by. Entering, what one would think is the basement of the restaurant above, the sleek and stylish bar greets the latest arrival who seems to be early as there are perhaps a handful of people scattered along the bar and seating. However, he ignores them as another worker greets him with a bow. "Welcome. Please follow me sir." The staff member guides him to where the VIP area is but then stops at the of the hallway.

The server deftly opens the wall to reveal another door which he opens and bows Yi through. Upon entering there is a large room (the half of the building most patrons of the bar would perhaps assume is the basement portion to the restaurant if they gave any thought to it at all) that has several 'private' tables and booths that give an illusion of privacy in the form of well-placed shadows and curtains yet everyone can still see the shapes moving and hear the murmuring of voices, all of which are placed around the stage at the far side of the room.

As he enters yet another staff greets Yi and takes him to the table assigned to him, near the front and off to one side slightly. Settling in he absently gives the other a drink order then sips at it while waiting for the event to get started. Soon enough the event starts with the lights dimming and a spotlight focuses on the figure upon the stage.

Name: Yi Ansel

Age: Unknown

Race: Okami

Personality: Well-mannered and engaging in public, but tends to keep to himself unless others initiate contact. While he makes public appearances he rarely, if ever, holds events at his own private estate or invite others over. Despite his calm and level-headed mannerisms, however, no one would say he is a pushover. In fact, many would say he seems to have an almost predatory presence.

Background: Yi is known to the public as the heir of the Ansel family and estate. While a highly prominent family, they are also very private. Yi doesn't engage in much beyond the necessary social or political functions.

Not much is known about the heir (who his mother is, etc.), but due to the will and no other living relative to challenge him for his position, Yi has been the head of the estate for a few years now. He is known for his tendency to attend certain auctions, as well as appearing to go through his slaves very quickly. This is a topic of great intrigue, curiosity, and approval with the court due to the type of slave he tends to buy.

The wet damp stench of a cold dank basement was all that awaited him in the darkness. His hands bound behind his back and his eyes covered by a cloth. It was far from the ideal treatment of a former deity. Umeji sat in the corner of his cell which he had once shared with a few others though he never saw any of them. Just the sound of their voices filled with sorry and agony. This kind of life was no life for those known as yokai. Human had come to a firm understand of their existence and that very understanding had led to their downfall.

The now empty room was all that met the lone fox as the faint sound of keys could be heard. It was that time already. The moment he would leave this cage and end up in another. One probably much worse than death itself. It was something he didn't wish for but couldn't escape from. At least not as he was currently. The cell door was opened and two men walked in lifting him up to his feet. "You better not try anything funny. You wouldn't want to die before getting to see outside would you." one of them said as they dragged him along. Putting up a fight was pointless at this point. He had tried that one too many times. It was probably why it had taken so long before he was set to be sold.

The lights soon hit the stage and the announcer for the evening stepped forth. "Good evening all you fine ladies and gentleman. Welcome to the auction. As some of you probably already know we have a rarity for you all tonight. The last of his very kind and a feisty one at that. A nine tailed kitsune." he says as the two men pulled Umeji out on stage. His blindfold was removed at this point as he squinted from he blinding lights. He avoided looking ahead at the crowded he could tell was before him. 'This is truly sickening... is there no way out of this mess... Is this truly my fate..' he thinks as the man started the bidding.

Yi barely manages to contain his reaction to the announcement of just what this auction is selling. A kitsune?! It couldn't be... Though they have appeared on occasion, nine tails have managed to be amongst the least captured of the yokai. Still, a nearly forgotten promise whispers in the back of his mind as a nearly dejected form is brought out on to the stage. When the blindfold is removed, Yi narrows his eyes slightly as though trying to see better despite seeing all to perfectly.

Having bet on a few previous items out of obligation, and very little real interest, he knows that many of the others are watching and waiting for his response to this newest "object". Sighing inwardly while maintaining the blase facade, he begins to bid on the yokai. The masses, satisfied with the obviously expected reaction, sit back to watch the betting war going on. At one point Yi feels his irritation begin to arise as one final bidder continues to try and outbid him, but Yi knows that the other cannot afford the cost.

Finally, standing up Yi slams a hand down on the table while glaring down his nose towards the other. "Enough. This man does not have the funds he has bid for the last three increases. I have been more than tolerant, but I will not abide this charade any longer." Making as though to leave, looking and sounding all the world like a dignified though affronted noble soon causes a stir amongst the others. Naturally this causes those running the auction to become nervous and worried for their own profits, quickly seek to soothe Yi. Much to his amusement.

"Sir, we mean no disrespect but you understand we would need to have proof of your claims?" The auctioneer cautiously calls out to which Yi sniffs as though further insulted by the insinuation he would falsely accuse another. "Of course." Yi drolls out in thinly veiled annoyance, causing the auctioneers to feel even more nervous. "I became the owner of his estate several months ago and as such have access to such information. Is that sufficient proof?" This of course causes a stir amongst the others, but the man in question pales not having known who his new 'landlord' was until this moment. Naturally this satisfies the proprietors of the auction.

The man on stage offers a low bow. "Naturally my Lord. As a sign of apology we will lessen the cost of your winning bet, if that pleases you." Yi gives an affronted sniff but waves a hand signaling his acceptance, but knows that the "discount" will likely be substantial and thus want to be kept private. That being done the kitsune is removed from the stage for the next "item" and Yi is escorted to finalize the sale. Once in the back office, some negotiating is done but the final sale is settled with a 25% discount on the kitsune and another 25% on his next purchase.

With that Yi leaves the office clearly expecting the kitsune to either already be loaded and ready to leave with him, or to be delivered in a timely manner to his estate. Reaching his car, the chauffeur bows while holding the door open for Yi to enter and allow him to see which option the auction house has decided to go with.

Umeji was silent as his dazed expression stared down at the wooden stage. He listened carefully to what was happening. He could almost feel his stomach flipping about around all these filthy rich pigs. He hated every last one of them. It wasn't long before it appeared as though someone had won the bid and in turn won his life. That was the most degrading part to this whole ordeal. The was taken off stage where he was cleaned up, changed in to a satin styled kimono and given a drug that would keep him dazed for about five hours. This was to prevent him from fighting back against the buyer and escaping.

His gaze shifts back and forth as he was taken outside and placed into the back of a vehicle. In his mind he could smell the scent of the fresh air. It was a huge change from the molding scent he had endured all this time. He grits his teeth a little as a key was placed in his hand. It was the key to the collar around his neck. These collars were special made to prevent yokai from using any of their powers. It also could perfectly sever the head of anyone wrongly unlocking it. Thus despite having the key in his hands, Umeji couldn't use it. It was engraved to be used by the man who won the bid and him alone. This was the worse kind of torture for many yokai. Though some would rather risk losing their heads than to end up with those who had bought them. It was like a double edge sword with no way out.

He sat there staring at the key. He was tempted but in the back of his mind he knew he couldn't seek revenge if he was dead. Thus he just held his hand out awaiting the winner of the bid. He'd hand over the key as he knew he should. His mind wasn't as blank as he has pretended it was while in captivity. He was always calculating his next step in reaching his freedom. It was only a matter of time for him.

Yi glances at the kitsune in his car but otherwise ignores him as the door is closed except to take the key. Soon the car pulls away and they are on their way back to his 'home'. Leaning back, he leans on a hand while looking out the window as his other hand taps absently on his thigh. Eventually they appear to be out of the city and driving in the countryside or at least the beginnings of a large estate where trees are much more prominent. It is only then that Yi lets out a soft sigh and seems to relax slightly.

Just as Yi decides to talk to the other, his phone rings. With a faint frown he answers it and soon sits upright. "When?" His frown deepens as his hand tightens around the phone. "And the doctor was called? Good. Get the others ready, we'll go out as soon as I return. Let Yuki know she will be needed." Hanging up grinds his teeth with a curse under his breath before calling up the driver. "Go faster."

Nodding the driver soon has them flying down the road. It still takes almost another 30 minutes before they turn onto a road that heads up into a mountainous area and from there turn down a less noticeable road to go through automatic gates. They stop at a large Victorian styled manor. The car comes to a stop and Yi quickly steps out once the door is opened. Several people are standing and bow in greeting. Some are clearly maids, butler, and four others look out of place as they are dressed in durable casual clothing with muscle, appearing almost like a hunting party.

A dark-haired, pale as snow woman comes up and bows to Yi. "Good hunting. I shall take care of our newest addition." Yi nods and gives the woman a small smile. "Thank you Yuki." Turning he strides off with the four out of place individuals striding after him. "We'll start with where it happened and track out from there. Have those patrolling the forest been notified?" The one near Yi's shoulder nods. "Yes, those on duty were alerted to watch for intruders and Luva is being seen by the doctor." Soon the group is out of sight as they focus on hunting down the one who has dared to trespass on their home.

As the group walks off, Yuki turns to kitsune in the car and gives him a small smile. "Welcome. My name is Yuki. I will be giving you the tour and showing you where you will be staying. I am sure the drug hasn't had time to wear off yet, but after it does you can wash and eat." She holds out a hand to the other and her pale skin seems to gleam in the light like freshly fallen snow.

Umeji watched the male within only inches away from him. He was a bit amazed at the lack of attention he was being given. He knew a lot of the people who purchased yokai had rather vulgar minds. Being able to read a handful of them during auctions. However he couldn't read this man's mind. It was astonishing but that didn't matter to him. He was just another empty face among the many. His gaze shifts towards the window. The drugs still keeping in a fog like state of mind. He kept silent as if he could do anything else. In his mind he was thinking of how to escape. However as that though crossed his mind it went away in a flash.

The sudden speed increase of the vehicle made him nervous but he managed not to show it. Only due to the substance within his system. However he was definitely feeling the sharp turns and every bump in the road. His gaze shifts a little as it seemed like they had reached their destination. Umeji was silent as he watched the door open and the man get out. 'Not a single word said to me... why did he buy me in the first place...? Unless its my power he's after...' he thinks as he wasn't sure how long its been. He wished the effects would ware off more quickly. Just as he was about to slump over in the seat a female by the name of Yuki spoke to him. She was definitely beautiful. Something about her seemed otherworldly like himself but he couldn't tell why that was. He managed to pull himself out of the vehicle and up on his feet. Though he couldn't really stand all that well. 'By the way she speaks she knows about how these auction yokai are... does he have more than one yokai here...' he began to become a little furious at the thought. It wasn't uncommon to hear of mortals who hoard yokai but to think he ended up in a place like that. He was sure he'd kill the man who dared to bring him to such a place.

For the moment, Umeji knew he needed his strength above all else. He'd learn the layout of this place and much more before trying to escape and save as many trapped yokai here as possible.

Upon reaching their destination, Yi cannot stop himself from snarling as a furious growl escapes him. In that brief flash his canines are clearly far more pronounced and his eyes flash revealing, despite the contacts assisting with hiding their true color, red-gold eyes. The sight and scent of so much blood from one of those under his protection causes him to loosen his control enough that the brief glimpse of his true self had slipped out before quickly regaining control. "You said he was shot which most likely means a sniper. If we're lucky the others will have found and contained whoever was responsible, but we had best join them."

It was bad enough that one of his 'servants' had been attacked, but this individual in particular was barely into his teens and a delicate sort as he was an Alicanto, a bird yokai with luminescent feathers which is desirable of its own, but also exceedingly rare which of course meant that Yi had paid an obscene amount for the boy. That is not what angered him to the point of loosing control however, though it is what the ton would think it is. The true anger came from that someone had purposefully sought to harm or kill a child. Thankfully even the most delicate of yokai are made of tougher stuff than that and so the young demon should hopefully pull through.

With grim looks of determination the team leaps into action and soon are mere blurs that fade into the nearby trees seeking and following the scents of outsiders and gun powder. It is a few hours later that their prey is found and trapped. Unfortunately for the man who took the job, he was far too isolated for anyone to hear his screams of pain as answers were sought and then killed once of no further use. Their task done they head back to the manor to clean up and join the others for supper.

Yuki smiles at the other as though understanding that he is confused. "I know as I was much the same when I arrived." She gently places an arm around her fellow demon and leads him into the manor, where he is immediately greeted with signs of immense wealth, but not that it is filled with gaudy and tasteless decor. No, it is very tastefully decorated and almost understated in its simplicity except for the very high quality of everything from the marble and hardwood, to the pieces of art and decoration. "I have found that many get lost very easily here so we have a system of where any new comers have someone to assist them around the first couple of weeks."

The tour takes some time even with just doing a very general walk through which included the guest wing, Yi's personal wing which also includes the library, formal dining area, the gather area for most meals, the kitchen, staff quarters, the garden, the pool, and the last portion has her very excited though it is only noticeable that her smile grows. "This is my favorite area personally, though many others share the same thoughts." Opening a door she gently guides the other into an almost overwhelmingly large greenhouse.

There's a path that meanders through it and gentle rushing sounds of water can be heard from somewhere further in. "This is where most go to relax as it's easy to find a quiet place to yourself or just enjoy the company of others." They don't venture in far before Yuki turns them around. "Rules will be gone over with you tomorrow, for now lets get you to your room so you can clean up and then it'll be about time for dinner."

Just as promised, by the time Yuki shows the other his room in the staff quarters and he showers and changes, it is time to head to dinner. They arrive and find spots at one of the several large tables that has food piled high on it just before Yi enters the room with the others he had gone off with. When he enters he is greeted by everyone either calling out to him to welcome him back, a smile, or a nod.

Settling at a table in view of the others, Yi sits down with several others then looks over all the others gathered. "Good evening. Tonight we have a new addition, be sure to welcome him and assist him." With that everyone looks directly at the kitsune as Yi goes about filling his plate with food. Once he begins to eat that seems to signal everyone else to do the same though many give him smiles or words of welcome. It is now that perhaps the kitsune realizes the truth that maybe wasn't apparent before. Almost all of those in the manor were yokai, sure there were some humans as well, but a vast majority were not.

Umeji went through the tour as he tried to figure out this place. As he went about with Yuki the only thing that seemed to catch his attention the most was the greenhouse. It was so peaceful and relaxing. In his mind this would definitely be the only place he'd enjoy out of the entire manor. As the tour seemed to draw to an end, Umeji could slowly feel his senses coming back. The drugs wearing off now and that meant a lot to him. He watched the female closely as he was taken to a room to shower properly and get fresh clothing. In his mind he couldn't understand why a yokai such as herself was working so happily in a place like this. It made zero sense to him.

Before he had time to fully grasp more of the situation around him; it was time for supper. He honestly wasn't hungry but went with Yuki nonetheless. Once there he got the chance to take in everyone here. So many yokai all gathered in one place. He would have easily mistaken this place for a yokai sanctuary but he doubts that's what this place was. His gaze shifts as the man who was responsible for him being here had finally returned. His eyes following him closely as he didn't know how he felt about someone like him. Umeji had a few choice words for him but he couldn't say them. Especially not when everyone suddenly had their eyes on him. 'I need to get out of here...' he thinks as he looked at Yuki. He lightly tapped her shoulder knowing she was in the middle of eating. Tilting his head a bit he gave her the look of wanting to leave. He couldn't deal with all of this all at once. He wanted to be alone. Though his voice was the issue.

Umeji's voice held just as much power in it as his tails. Thus the collar around his neck also prevented his voice from escaping. It was difficult to communicate as such but he was hopeful she got the message and would allow him to leave. He wished to return to the sleeping quarters he was being provided with for the time being.

Yuki glances at him and gives a small understanding smile but slightly shakes her head. "Not just yet. I know you don't feel hungry now, but do try to eat. You'll be grateful you did later." After enough time has gone by to where many have eaten a fair bit, Yi stands up causes a hush to fall over the room. "For today all I will say is that going forward no one is to go anywhere on their own. Even inside the manor everyone must be in pairs or small groups. Until further notice there will also be a curfew where all must be inside an hour before dusk." He holds in a sigh while finishing his drink before continuing. "That is all."

With that he turns and leaves without finishing his own meal which has several looking at one another and after Yi in concern. "This is not good..." Yuki murmurs with a faint frown that quickly fades as she gives the kitsune a small smile. "Alright, we can go now." Standing up she guides the other back to his room. "Someone will be by in the morning to assist you to breakfast before you are given work duties. It will most likely start off light until we find the best fit for you." Stopping at the other's room she gives a small smile with a slight head bow. "If you need anything don't hesitate to ask anyone. We all remember what the first few days, even weeks, are like." With that she heads off, presumably towards her own quarters.

Yi meanwhile lets himself fall into a chair in his room feeling drained. "This is a mess... How am I going to get us through this one?" With a long tired sigh, he rubs at his eyes before slowly pushing himself out of the chair and goes to the bathroom to try and wash up before collapsing into bed. Come morning he takes food in his office while trying to doing his duties as Lord as well as working to keep those in the manner safe from the latest threat. After several hours he finally gets up and decides to go check on Luva. On his way he asks someone to check on the kitsune and have the other brought to him soon.

Luva is in a small, but airy tea room with many windows causing there to be a lot of light and sense of space. When Yi enters the room the young yokai perks up and waves fanatically at him "Yi-sama!! Good morning!"

3c54e15298d9d1478bd0090605d6a1c8.jpg

Yi stares at him with a blank expression before lightly scuffing him on the back of the head. "Idiot. Calm down, you're still recovering." The other pouts at him but is soon chattering away and begins to pester the other about getting back to work in the greenhouse. "Not until the doctor clears you. Which means at least another day or two of rest. If you're lucky." Yi blandly replies while fighting back a smirk.

Luva puffs up his cheeks and start waving his fists, almost seeming to have steam coming out of his ears. "That's not fair!! I'm perfectly fine! Or at least let me work on the flowers in the garden!" He stares at Yi with big almost teary eyes. "Pleeeaaasssseeee Yi-sama?"

Umeji continued to sit there silently but without any words. He didn't bother to touch or even attempt to eat anything which was in front of him. In honesty he just didn't trust any of it. His trust in others had fallen greatly. Despite all those around here being yokai; he had no clue what the owner of this place was. Assuming he was human was his only reason for refusing anything given to him so easily here. He felt trapped as if still in the cage back in the auction house. His gaze stayed fixated upon the edge of the table and the floor. A sense of relief washed over him as he was finally able to leave the table to return to the sleeping quarters he was given. With an unchanging expression, Umeji watched as Yuki walked down the hall.

Once alone, Umeji searched the room. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary or dangerous. It was a perfectly normal room. Letting out a heavy sigh he sat on the floor beneath the window. He couldn't bring himself to lay upon the bed. Not that he had something against bed but his body would have to adjust to such a feeling of comfort. As he sat upon the floor he lightly touched his neck. 'How do I get this off... I am utterly useless like this...' he thinks to himself just wishing to find his freedom beyond the four wall which was his room. It took a while but Umeji eventually drifted off into a light slumber. He wasn't a heavy sleeper at all since he was always wary of the guards that might try to attack him in his sleep. He awoke to the feel of the warm morning sun. 'Three hours... that's more than usual..' Umeji thinks as he counted the hours he was asleep.

Getting up from the floor he waited near the door awaiting whoever would arrive to take him out of there. He remembers clearly what Yuki said last night as well as the owner of this estate. He couldn't roam alone. Umeji wasn't one for rules and if it hadn't been for the lack of power he currently has, he would roam about without a second thought. However he was one who knew when he'd easily loose a battle and thus he refrained from making himself an easy target. As he waited Umeji kept glancing behind him. It was something he did often whenever he was feeling uneasy. He would usually have his many tails there as fluffy comfort but being as they weren't there he could only glance back wishing they were. 'Is no one awake at this hour...' he thinks to himself.

Just as his mind was wandering about his missing tails, a knock was heard upon the door before him. "Sorry to intrude but I am here to bring you to see Yi-sama. My name is Kairris" a male voice was heard from the other side. Umeji walked forth and opened up to see a twin tailed nekomata. 'A black cat... how cute..' he thinks to himself as he wonders who Yi-sama was. thinking on the name he quickly pieced together it was the owner of this place. Giving a small nod of his head, Umeji closed the door behind him and followed the neko down the halls. He looked around as he was able to get a better feel of this place being more aware than he was yesterday. The trip seemed short as they stopped near what appeared to be a tea room. "Yi-sama, I have brought the kitsune as you've asked." Kairris says as he glanced over towards Umeji. He found it hard to believe this person was a kitsune. For one he didn't see a single tail or ears. He felt he might be a spy for the humans to find out the truth about Yi.

Yi glances over at the door at the announcement. "Come in." He turns to look back at Luva. "Behave yourself. Whining and begging won't get you anywhere and you know that." Plus the doctor had been quite clear as to what Luva should avoid for awhile which included high exertion tasks such as gardening. The young bird huffs and crosses his arms over his chest while pouting for a moment before jolting as though just realizing what had been said. "A kitsune? Really?!"

Leaning forward the other's eyes gleam with excitement as his hand clasp together in front of him. At the nod from Yi he excitedly turns around, wincing only slightly at the pain from his wounds, to watch teh door open as the kitsune is accompanied into the room. Straining to look around Karris he whines. "Kaaarissss!!! Move! I can't see the kitsune with you in the way!"

Yi covers his face with a hand while trying to stifle a laugh. "Luva, calm down." He manages to gruff out before looking up. Luva frowns and sniffs at him before turning back around and spots Umeji. "Oh! Is that him?! I thought kitsunes were supposed to be white? Is that wrong? If it's wrong are there kitsunes of other colors too? Oo! Is it it true that you also have nine tails? Are you born with nine tails? Can I see them?" Luva asks too quickly for the other to respond even if he could.

Yi looks at Luva with an almost exasperated expression before sighing. "Come on in and ignore him. If you answer one question you'll soon find yourself faced with a minimum of ten more." He waves the other to am empty seat ignoring Luva who turns to shoot him a glare. "Now then." He pulls the paperwork on the other to double-check. "I'm going to guess you've never worked in a place like this, so eventually you'll go through training to find what fits your abilities as I'm sure Yuki told you. For now, however, you will be keeping Luva here company and making sure he doesn't overwork himself."

Yi tucks the papers back into his jacket before looking at the kitsune. "It won't be all day everyday, others will rotate with you so you can try out other areas and get some rest. For the most part though you will, for all intents and purposes, Luva's companion or helper for at least the next couple of days. His primary job is tending to the flowers and feeding animals in the greenhouse, but is currently on light duty so will need you and maybe another person to assist him until he's at full strength again. Any questions?"

He waits a moment then snaps his finger. "Ah, right... The collar. Hang on." Motioning to someone he then turns back to the kitsune. "This will help you to communicate more effectively." Someone comes up to Umeji and hands him a tablet and shoulder bag. "It has a vocal feature so people don't have to read what you type." He comments then waits to see if the other will 'say' anything before sending the two on their way.

Umeji stood within the room looking about. The scent of the space gave him an odd feeling but he didn't dislike it. He tried to focus on all that was happening around him. Doing his best to take note on all the name and faces of those around him. Kairis glanced over towards Luva as he rolled his eyes a bit. "Aren't you supposed to be injured? Stop talking so much and rest." Kairis says towards the other's constant prattling.

Umeji didn't care so much for the questions. He have answered every last one of them if he could but at the moment that wasn't possible. His gaze falls upon Luva as he found his energetic nature incredible. He smiled at him with a gentle expression as he took a seat. His gaze shifts towards Yi. This is the man who currently has him under his thumb. That alone pisses him off but it was hard to tell by his blank expression on his face.

As the other spoke about responsibilities and his tasks here in the house; something felt strange. Umeji tilts his head noticing the tablet and such devices. His gaze narrows as he started to type upon it. "I hate this place... I don't wish to be here... I'm not going to parade around your circus of yokai just to amuse you." he typed lowering his gaze as he frowns. He was annoyed by so many different things that it was slowly starting to boil over. "I dont care how long it takes me. I'll escape this place and return to my mountain. I'll live freely as all of my kind before me have. I'm sure someone like you has no idea what I speak of." he typed as he placed the tablet down. He refused to use it any longer.

His gaze stayed lowered toward the ground. He disliked so many things he found it hard to breath; let alone find something he did like. One thing he knew for sure was that he did find the greenhouse amazing. It was so far the only thing here that remained him of his home.

Yi just stares at Umei clearly unimpressed. "That might have been admirable if it was the first time a yokai had thrown a tantrum here, but even as far as that goes it was utterly unimpressive." He states flatly. "As it were, 'my circus' will be told how you feel about them to their face. Or in this case, written. You will keep the tablet and convey to all that you feel such. It's the least amount of respect you can give them." Dismissing the other as no longer worthy of his attention, he looks back at Luva.

"Considering you must be part of the 'circus' it will be your decision if he will be your companion after the next hour or so, but that that is the soonest another will be able to replace him. Should you decide to not keep his company then let Yuki where he should go next." Luva, who had been looking at the kitsune with a sad expression turns to Yi and nods.

"Yes Yi-sama." The previously energetic yokai now is much more subdue, for the moment at least. Standing up, and holding back a wince which Yi and the others ignore, the young male carefully packs the tablet in its carrying case. Holding it against his chest with one had, his other takes one of the kitsune's. "Come on, I want to go check on my flowers. They must be upset since I haven't seen them since yesterday."

Luva is a little more energetic, but still not quite as much as he was when Umeji first walked into the room. As he goes to leave, the other yokai's only options are to either follow the younger male or refuse to move. Yi watches the exchange with some interest.

What no one has told the newest addition to the home, is that is indeed a yokai sanctuary. Perhaps most interesting to Yi is that the kitsune hasn't noticed one key aspect about all of the yokai, and even quite a few humans live and work with them, in that not one of them has a collar on. Oh, some may have decorative necklaces, chokers and what have you, but not one has the collar that the kitsune is currently wearing.

Umeji averts his gaze unamused by Yi's response to him. He had no issue in telling anyone how he truly felt. He would have preferred to use his actual voice to get his message across but that would still have to wait. He slightly ignores the exchange of words between the man running this place and the young boy Luva. Honestly Umeji was uninterested in any task that might be given to him.

As he sat there, his gaze falls upon Luva as the boy takes his hand. Had this been anyone else had have smacked such a gesture away. However he allowed it as he stood to follow the male out of the room. Kairis looked at Yi. "That's one show tempered kitsune. I've heard nine tails can hold a grudge for over a thousand years. If that's true there's no telling what he'd do if his powers were returned. I get he's had it rough. We've all been in his shoes at one point but..." he stops as he noticed another yokai was listening in. "Jin eveasedroping is a terrible habit." Kairis says to a young snake who was outside the window.

"Sorry but I've been curious about that fox since yesterday's supper. He hasn't eaten since he's arrived yet he has so much energy. I'm sure his anger is all that's fueling him right now. That's no good at all. He'll collapse soon if not looked after, Yi-sama." Jin hissed softly out of concern.

Umeji was indeed pushing his limits. His lack of trust in others showing beyond compare. Unlike most yokai, those of rarity were always treated with more cruelty than others. Since their powers were often the source of them being captured in the first place; one usually had to break their spirits in order to obtain some sense of control over them. Humans could only do so much but it was obvious Umeji wasn't completely broken. Thus it was clearly a harsh path he's been on before arriving here.

As Umeji walked with Luva, his steps slowed down. He looked at him as if wanting to say something. However he honestly didn't wish to use the tablet again.

Yi sighs and leans back, one hand shoving his hair back out of his face. "I know, but it may be what he needs. No one can be made to forget pain and anger that easily. Besides, even anger can't be held on to forever." Rolling his neck to relieve some tension, he pauses before giving another soft sigh. "Keep an eye on him. He seems to at least have a soft spot for Luva, perhaps he sees a kindred spirit or it could just be Luva, but I don't want to risk his injuries being aggravated further."

With the orders given, he stands up to leave the room. "I'm going out. I'll be back for dinner." Not waiting for a response he leaves out the back and soon is in the woods. Letting out a long breath, tension seems to leave him as with each step it seems as though his appearance is melting away until something just as otherworldly as all the yokai takes his place, although Yi seems even more than the others in some way.

As he continues further into the mountain, his speed increases until he's almost seeming to fly with how fast Yi runs. Despite that there are two shadows within easy distance to help make sure nothing catches their leader and protector unaware. Yi spends the remainder of the afternoon out in nature and when he comes back, slowly pulling back his disguise over himself, there is still a noticeable change as he seems much calmer and almost seems to have a smile.

Meanwhile, Luva ignores the obvious desire the other has to communicate until they are deep in the greenhouse surrounded by tall bushes and various plants. Letting the other's hand go Luva takes a deep breath and almost skips over to the nearest flower. "Hello~! Did you all miss me? I'm sorry, I know the others try but they just don't you all like I do." Just like a bird he begins to flit around and begins hecking over the plants.

He sets the tablet on a bench after a few moments though and seems to have paled slightly. "Heheh, oops! I forgot to get the tools so we can trim and prune the plants." Sitting down he lets out a soft sigh and winces, lightly he touches a spot on his chest before looking over at the kitsune. "Umm, if you don't mind my asking... Why are you so mean to Yi-sama? Did something on your way here? I promise he's actually really nice." He pauses and looks up with his lips pursed. "Well, unless someone makes him mad. Then he can be pretty scary, but the only time I ever saw him get mad was when the stupid 'ton' people are here."

Narrowing his eyes, Luva leans forward. "You're not one of theirs are you? I won't forgive you if you hurt Yi-sama for them." His hair starts to give off a stronger glow and seem shift slightly, much like a bird fluffing up.

Both Kairis and Jin nods deciding to be the ones to keep an eye on Umeji and Luva. It was obvious that the fox was seemingly calmer around the young man. Kairis thinking he just finds children easier to be around than adults. Jin believes its because children are known to be pure souls compared to adults. Either way they'd follow the orders by Yi and keep a close watch over the two.

Meanwhile within the greenhouse, Umeji watches the young male as he moved about. He could tell he wasn't doing well but he tried not to say much for the moment. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he reached for the tablet. "I don't want to be caged or trapped anywhere. I'm a free spirited type of fox. I refuse to be kept by that man as his trophy. I refuse to be used for my abilities as well. I'm tired of it all. I just want to live in peace surrounded by nature. Like this place." he typed as he looked at the young bird. His gaze lowers a little as he looked at the tablet in his hands.

Umeji grew silent as he was now in thought. He slowly glanced up at Luva. He began typing once more. "You should really go back at rest. You aren't helping the flowers like this. They will cry knowing you aren't well enough to be here. Don't do that to them. If you love this place then do what's best for yourself and the plants. I'll keep watch over them with you every day. So don't argue with me. Also once I can talk again I'll answer all those questions you asked me before. I'm surprised someone as young as you are knows so much about kitsune. I'm curious about that myself." Umeji typed as he set the tablet aside. He knew they were being watched but he didn't care. Spending time around Luva was a lot more easier for him than anything so far.

"He has taken a liking to Luva. That's so cute but he's still not opening up. That bottle inside himself will burst soon." Jin hissed a bit. "I know. I get why Yi-sama saved him but I get the feeling he'll be more trouble than it's worth. We should get rid of him." Kairis sighs. "Dont fret now... it'll be tons of fun.. just you wait and see. I bet my next life on it for sure.." Jin says laughing

Luva frowns at the kitsune and shakes a finger at him. "I don't know what you mean by being his 'trophy', but it's not nice to assume things about others you know. If Yi-sama did something to you that's one thing, but if you're just mad about what he said earlier then you shouldn't have been so mean to him first." Huffing and putting his hands on his hips, the young demon looks around with a smile. "It was okay before, but making a place truly feel relaxing within a contained space like this is hard work. I'm amazing!" He breathes out the last look with face of pure pride before laughing again.

Settling back down he sits for a few moments regaining his breath after working on some of the pruning and weeding before laughing again at the kitsune's next comment. "Heh, you know... You're the only one who's said that without thinking I'm crazy." He hums lightly in thought. "You know, once I get better and can really get back to work I might see if you stay on as my assistant in here. Everyone's told me I need some help, and they're right but I just..." He trails off then continues quietly. "I only want people to help that really like the flowers and plants, not just see them as decorations or a task that needs to be done."

He lightly kicks at the ground before opening his mouth to speak but then Yuki appears. "There you are. Come on, it's time to eat you two." She smiles slightly before motioning for them to hurry up. "And I hope you haven't been working too hard to keep little Luva here from over-exerting himself. In all honesty he should be strapped to his bed until he's had time to recover, but that's like expecting snow in the middle of summer." She laughs softly while leading them back to the house as Luva playfully pouts at her.

Throughout the meal the mood seems slightly tense, but for the most part everyone carries on normally. After Luva is sent to bed by Yuki after he nearly falls asleep face-first into his food. "Honestly..." She huffs with a small worried frown before turning to Umeji. "Now then, I suppose I should find something for you to do until dinner... Ah! Actually, would you know how to cook? Dinner is usually the biggest meal of the day and the kitchen could always use help." She looks at the other hopefully.

Umeji looked at him a bit. He didn’t mind being scolded just a bit. It wouldn’t be the first time and he was sure it wouldn’t be the last. His gaze falls upon the male before him as he smiled. He did enjoy being around plants such as this. He typed away to respond to the other. “I would very much enjoy assisting you here. I like the air around this place. Reminds me of my home so much and that’s saying softly.” placing the tablet down his gaze shifts towards Yuki who seems to be right on cue of things. He glanced at Luva before following her to the dining hall. Yet again Umeji didn’t bother to touch his food. Instead offering his share to anyone who was still hungry.

Both Kairis and Jin noticed being sure to take not of this. “Does he think he’s too good for our meals?” Kairis says irritated by the fox and his attitude. Jin hissed quietly. “I don’t think that’s it. His eyes seem to be hungry but he’s not making an attempt to eat. I doubt that collar is preventing him from eating so it’s something else. Question is what?” The time went by and soon the dining room was empty. Staying with Yuki, Umeji was on the verge of being given yet another task. Cooking was something he use to be fond of but lately he wasn’t all too sure of his skills. He hadn’t set foot in a kitchen in ages. Giving her a nod of his head he would attempt to help even if it was just washing dishes. He didn’t feel a need to truly refuse to do anything. It was all just a means to an end for him right now. This place still made zero sense to him.

Making his way to the kitchen, Umeji was suddenly surrounded by many different yokai. From water type to fire types. It was a little unsettling but he just tried his best not to get in anyone’s way. “Hey you’re the new guy right?!” a naga asked of him. He nods his head as he looked at her. “My name is Mari. I’ll have you preparing the dessert. Everything you need is already preset. Just follow the directions to bake and then decorate. That should be easy enough. Foxes are supposed to be smart so get to work.” Mari says slithering away. Umeji looked at the preparations and then sighs. He began filling the trays and placing them in the over as per the directions.

Yuki sighs and gives him a small smile, clearly relieved. After Umeji is settled in the kitchen she leaves to go off and get back to her other responsibilities. Yi is going to have to do rounds on his tenants soon and not too mention that it will soon be "the season" which will only put him into a mood. "Not that I blame him." She murmurs while heading off to assist with preparations for notifying tenants of the time frame they can expect their lord to make an appearance, as well as take care of any invitations that may have arrived yet.

By the time dinner arrives, Yuki has the various tasks completed and greets Yi upon his return. "Hello Yi-sama, dinner will ready shortly but we have time to go over some items if you have time." Yi nods and the two go over the schedule for the visits over the next few months, adjusting a few here and there due to other conflicts, as well as finishing the paperwork for his newest property.

"Tomorrow we will need to go over some invites for the season." Yuki informs the other as they make their way to dinner. Yi gives a low grunt. "It's already that time of year? You would think they would have better things to do then have several months of dances and parties." He mutters as some of the stress reappears on his face. Yuki nods slightly. "I agree Yi-sama, but it is still necessary for you to attend at least a few and stay for a time amongst the ton. Do you know who you will be taking with you?" She inquires looking at the other.

Yi sighs and pushes some hair out of his face. "I was going to take Luva, but with this recent incident it may not be wise if he hasn't healed by then. If he fully recovers by the time I need to go then he will be included, if not he will stay here." Yi rubs his temples in thought as well as to help delay the oncoming headache this topic always brings. "If our newest member of the household is able to gather himself and prove capable then perhaps he can take Luva's place if needed. Or the two of them can go, we would just want to increase the security appropriately."

Yuki gives a slow thoughtful nod. "Yes, if you were to take the kitsune then I would highly encourage you to take Luva as well. The two seem to have a bond already and I think that Luva would be protected by him should the need arise. Although, speaking of Umeji..." She relays the concerns that have been reported to her. Mostly, his continued lack of eating food.

Hearing the news causes Yi to frown, but he cannot say he is overly surprised. "From the snippets I have heard this is unsurprising. If he really has taken a shine to Luva then I will see if he can get the kitsune to eat something. Even if only fruit and vegetables from the greenhouse and garden to start with. If we push him too hard too soon he will become either more resistant or retaliate, which could include trying to run." That wouldn't bode well for anyone in the home should the kitsune run and successfully get away as if he were discovered then it would put their entire home and lives at risk.

With that thought filling their minds, the two enter the dining area to join everyone else for the meal. Yi takes his spot as usual and Yuki sits nearby while occasionally going around to check in with various yokai or human staff. When she comes to Umeji, she pauses and gives him a small smile. "I hope the kitchen wasn't too much for you. It can be a little overwhelming if you're not used to it." She pauses for a moment before continuing on. "Luva also wanted me to pass along that he expects you to meet him at the greenhouse tomorrow after breakfast." With one last smile she continues on her way.

Other than that the meal concludes as normal and Yi makes his way to his office to work on some reports before bed. The next morning he eats breakfast with Luva. "I hear that you're getting along well with our newest member. Do you think you can get him to try and eat?" He asks while taking a sip of tea.

Luva grins and gives a mock salute. "Sir, yes sir! Just leave it to me!" Laughing he finishing his meal as Yi rolls his eyes but has a faint smile as he takes another drink of tea. Shortly after the two are waiting for Umeji at the greenhouse entrance. "Heey~! Over here!" Luva calls out waving with a large grin. "I had planned for us to work more in the greenhouse today, but Cook asked me to look over the garden so we'll be doing that instead. We can still go through here though to get to it though." With that he turns to lead the way through the greenhouse to the garden which is on the other side.

Seeing as how the two are together, Yi takes his leave to head back to meet with Yuki. "Luva, remember to take it easy. The doctor said you almost pulled your stitches out yesterday." He calls in warning to which the young male huffs and pouts at him but nods before grabbing the kitsune's hand and leading him along until at the garden. "Okay! Let's start! If you can weed I'm going to look over the fruits and vegetables for damage and bugs. Feel free to snag a few pieces if you get hungry, they're always best when freshly picked." With that he gets started inspecting while humming happily.

Umeji continues to work within the kitchen. His gaze lowers as he had prepared the dessert perfectly. His gaze shifts towards the counter as he had finished everything. Sitting in a corner of the room for a bit he glanced up at Yuki. He nods his head as he pointed out his finished work. They were little cakes decorated as foxes with the colorful feathers of Luva’s wings. It was very pretty and well made. His gaze shifts a little as he hears her mention eating again. It wasn’t something he wished to hear at all.

Keeping quiet he joined the supper table with everyone else. His gaze falls upon Yi once more. The man in charge of this place. He still couldn’t get what this person wanted with his presence here. Doing housework and such seemed like a complete useless way of using his abilities. To top it off his collar was still in place. Nothing was making any sense to him at all. His mind was pulling up nothing but blank scenarios. In the end the day had gone and went. Soon the next day had arrived.

As if continuing in a loop, Umeji continued with things here. He attended breakfast for the sake of seeing Luva. Even more he met up with him at the greenhouse. He smiled at the male as he nods at him. Before going off with Luva, Umeji walked up towards Yi. He looked at him silently before pointing to the collar around his neck. He wanted it off but he doubts the other would truly remove it. He was sure he knew or at least heard of the stories that portray what a nine tails is. So he was sure he was scared to find out if it was true or not. He lowers his gaze as he walked away with Luva. He was sure he’d be like this for a while to come. Which irritated him to some extent.

While tending to the garden Umeji was once again offered the option to eat. He took hold of Luva’s hand and placed it upon his stomach. There were many wounds and scars. Since he couldn’t heal due to the collar he couldn’t eat. He pushed his hand away a bit as he went to focus on taking care of the weeds. It was rather quiet since Umeji didn’t bring along the tablet.

Yi looks at Umeji in quiet contemplation when the other points to the collar. "At this time I cannot remove that due to not trusting you to not abuse the trust it would take to do so. Were you to run and be found, it wouldn't just be your head on the line." Meaning that if Yi could trust the other enough to at least not run, then he would give serious consideration to removing the collar.

Luva waits, of course impatient during the exchange, but waits quietly so as to not be disruptive or rude. However, when he feels the wounds and scars on the kitsune's stomach, he gives a sad and outraged cry before clinging to the other. "That's horrible! Why would they do that knowing you couldn't eat since it would't heal with the collar on?!" His tone is angry despite the tears on his face and his hair feathers are puffing up and glowing again with his agitation. "Yi-sama should have been told! I'm sure he would have let you take it off long enough to at least heal! I've seen him do it with others before, and he let me when I first I got here."

What Luva doesn't say is that he had been in such bad shape that he doesn't really remember being bought and coming here. He'd been so badly hurt that several bones had had to be rebroken in order to be reset as well as surgeries performed to help with internal damage before the collar had been taken off so that nothing healed wrong. Sniffling, Luva holds on to the other for a bit longer before letting go and gives the other a weak glare. "Since you're not in much better shape than I am you had better not push yourself either. Or else I'll tell Yuki-san and she'll give you a good scolding."

To him Yuki is much like a big sister or mom figure, but she has that way with most in the household. Still, everyone tries to avoid irritating her out of more than just respect, her temper when provoked has scared more than a few in the manor. With one last hug, Luva finally returns to his job of inspecting the garden.

After awhile Luva sighs and plops down in the shade almost covered in dirt and sweat. "Well, I'm not done inspecting everything but it's getting too hot to continue. Let's gets some water then clean up. We can do more later." He's doing better than yesterday, but he still gets tired quickly since most of his energy is focused on healing his wounds. That said the two manage to get at least a third of the garden taken care of which is no small feat for two that are injured.

Come lunch time, Yi stands up to make a small announcement at the end of the meal. "Everyone. As you know, that time of year is quickly approaching." Many yokai frown or murmur to one another clearly unhappy of what this means. "Yes, that means that I will having to partake in the ton's 'season' and will be gone off and on during it. This also means some of you will be coming with me. The rest will be here to continue taking care of things in my absence. I will be talking with those of you coming with me within the next few days as the season starts in about two months which means leaving in a few weeks. That is all."

Yi leaves with that and many start to talk amongst themselves about this. Most seem unhappy but have accepted it, others seem to feel no particular way about the news. Luva just sighs. "This means Yi-sama is going to be really stressed for awhile now."

Umeji blinked a bit concerned what the other began shedding tears. He didn't expect it to cause such emotions from the other. He assumed all yokai were well known to the abuse of being in captivity. He gently pats Luva's head as he wiped away his tears. He hadn't been embraced in a hug in ages and it felt strange but warm. So he let it continue as he gave him a small smile. His first one since coming to the place. To think both of them were injured and working so hard was a bit laughable to him but since no one knew of his wounds he'd keep quiet about it.

As they seemed finish up what they could manage Umeji pulled Luva close to him for a bit. He wrote in the dirt that he's not to tell anyone about his wounds. He didn't wish to be pitied by anyone here. That was the last thing he needed to endure at this point. He gave him a reassuring smile as if to say he'd be just fine even without eating. He was placing his trust in Luva not to tell anyone about this. He really planned to figure out things on his own. Its how he's lived all his life to begin with.

"So he's hurt. Should we inform Yi-sama?" Kairis asked Jin as the two were still tasked with watching over the two. "Not yet.. I am sure Yi-san will find out on his own in due time. After all his most rarest gem isn't eating a thing. His frustration will come about soon enough. Besides, I think Yi-san getting furious might put a scare on that fox. I am curious the outcome of that." Jin snickered. Kairis couldn't stand the twisted way Jin thinks but the snake was older than him so he never argued. "If you says so. I still think he's a spy. Why can't anyone see he isn't a fox?" he huffs. "Only you think he isn't. I can smell it even if its as faint as the stars at night."

Soon lunch had arrived and yet again Umeji stayed off out of view and away from the on going meal. He did however stay close by overhearing what was going on. He had no idea what Yi was talking about. 'What time could he be speaking of..' he thinks as the first thing to come to mind was mating season. Though he was sure he was reading into this entire thing all wrong. He began thinking on a wider scale but couldn't truly pinpoint an answer. He decided to give up thinking about it. To him he was sure it wouldn't involve him at all so it wasn't as if he had to worry about it. He was new here and he doubts Yi planned to take him anywhere beyond these grounds.

After everyone left the dining area, Umeji was pulled off to the side by Kairis. He wonders what the nekomata suddenly wanted with him. He could tell something was amiss but didn't bother showing a reaction. "Look here. I want to make one thing clear. I don't trust you one bit. Kitsune as suppose to be strong and yet here you are roaming like a dainty flower. Just admit you're here to dig some dirt on Yi-sama for someone. I won't allow anyone to destroy what he's built here. Do I make myself clear." he asked. Umeji tilts his head. Its not as if he could reply to him how he wanted to. He didn't have the tablet with him either. So he gave a simple shrug of his shoulders. This only seemed to irritate Kairis more.

"Kairis, what is going on here?" Yuki walks up with Yi next to her, who seems unconcerned with the whole situation, but Yuki has that smile on her face that holds the promise of retribution. Luva is also with them and frowns while looking between the two. "You're not picking on Ume-kun are you Kairis?" He asks with fierce frown at the other demon, hands going to his hips.

Yuki hums and as she crosses her arms, one finger tapping against the opposite arm. "No, that couldn't be it. Even he wouldn't be stupid enough to start threatening and bullying someone so new. Still..." Yi sighs and waves a hand. "Do what you like Yuki, but I need to talk with Luva so you handle things here." Yuki bows as Yi and Luva leave, the latter looking back with a concerned frown before he's out of sight.

"Now then... Just what is going on here?" Yuki demands, clearly not in the mood for any excuses.

Once settled in his office, Yi looks at Luva. "I'm going to assume you know what this talk is about?" Luva nods and sticks out his tongue. "Yeah, and I'll go... Though I really don't like being there with those people." Yi chuckles and nods. "I know, and if I could avoid it completely I would but that's not an option."

Leaning back he sighs. "I have all the guards and staff taken care of, thanks to Yuki of course, but we still need the 'servants' that I'm going to take. Naturally, provided the doctor clears you, you will be going." Resting his cheek on a fist, he stares at the other for a few moments. "Be honest Luva, what do you think of the kitsune and do you think he poses too great a risk to keep here."

Luva stills and slowly blinks. As if a veil is being lifted, the young demon suddenly looks a little older, more graceful, but also predatory and serious. With a slow intake of breath, he slowly tells the other what his thoughts are.

Kairis grits his teeth a bit as Yuki Luva and Yi suddenly appeared. He couldn’t get out of this no matter how hard he tried. He kept silent as he was questioned by Yuki about his actions. “I wasn’t doing anything wrong. I have no idea why everyone here is acting so blind against this. It’s obvious this guy isn’t a fox. I don’t want him to destroy everything here just because he was told to by someone. This place is our home and I plan to protect it even if no one else is willing to back me up.” Kairis says seriously. Umeji watched the exchange before feeling someone touch his hand. Glancing to the side he noticed someone he hadn’t talk to before. “Yuki, why don’t you enjoy teaching Kairis some manners and I’ll take Umeji to his room. After all no one is allowed to roam alone.” Jin says with a grin. Kairis wasn’t expecting this snake to suddenly show up. It was a bit annoying but he knew he’d have to take his punishment like a man.

Umeji walked off with the other. “My name is Jin by the way and yes I’m a blind white snake. I am very interested in you but I guess I’ll have to wait a bit longer to observe you a little more. Oh here we are. You do your best to rest well and don’t let that little kitten scare you. For all it’s worth I believe you are a fox. Those eyes can’t fool me.” Jin says walking away. Umeji looked at him as he entered the room and closed the door. He let out a heavy breath before going to lay down. So much was happening and he couldn’t take any of it. Lightly touching his neck, Umeji thinks to himself as he slowly began to fall asleep. Nothing made any sense to him here but he liked spending time with Luva. So far that was one thing he enjoys here so he find this place not too bad.

Kairis was on his way back to his room after dealing with Yuki. He had almost forgotten how scary she is when angered. He sighs walking down the hall only to bump into Jin. “What do you want?” he says a bit still pissed off. “Come with me. This should help put an end to your idiot thoughts about Umeji.” he said as they head over towards the fox’s room. Once there Jin opened the door and enters with Kairis. “He’s on the floor. Why doesn’t he use to bed?” Kairis says rolling his eyes. “Do you remember how long it took before you used the beds here. Now look here. You insist he’s a spy but what person would go this far just to infiltrate Yi-sama’s home.” Jin asked as he tilts Umeji‘ sheaf a bit so Kairis could see what he was talking about. Kairis averts his gaze after looking. “I guess you’ve made your point. Then that would mean he’s had it ten times worse than most of us.” Kairis says as they leave the room. “Indeed but I guess that’s why he bonds with Luva so much. They know true pain at the hands of others.”

After Luva finishes talking, Yi sighs and leans back with hands clasped in his lap. "I see..." They both sit silently for some time before Yi refocuses on the demon in front of him. "If you are well enough or not, you will have to come with me to the city this season as I'm sure you know. If I do not, the ton will become overly curious which we cannot afford at this time." Luva nods his understanding even though his hand clench the fabric of his pants tightly, betraying his anxiety over the matter.

Yi ignores it and continues on. "No matter which way we go with Umeji, the ton will not be overly curious. If he does not come they will assume he is being "tamed" or "broken", and if he does come they will assume that my skills to master yokai and control them are to credit for it. Naturally the latter will cause some extra gossip, but it will be more of benefit than harm." Though the increasing popularity he has gained as someone who is easily able to break yokai to his will may be part of the reason Luva was recently attacked.

Luva looks resigned and mildly subdued by Yi's comments, but knows they are the truth. Still, the oppression and risk they constantly face does take its toll. "The question then comes down to this." Yi states getting the other to look up at him intently, clearly listening. "With what you have told me about him, do you want to bring Umeji with us? And if we do, knowing that you will bare full responsibility for his actions." The two stare at one another for a long moment before Luva looks down, clearly thinking the question over carefully and weighing the choices.

Finally, after several long moments, Luva gives a slow nod. "Yes Yi-sama. I would want Umeji to come with us, though that is provided that he gains some measure of stability and trust towards at least a few of the others." In other words, Luva wants to take the kitsune with, but also recognizes the very real risk the other poses should he not be able to play his part when out in human society.

Yi gives a nod, approving of the other's choice. "I'm proud of you for recognizing that Luva. It's not an easy thing to decide and voice. Especially as the two of you seem to be on your way to becoming friends." Waving a hand he dismisses the other. "Now go on, you must be tired. I'll talk to Umeji in a few days after you've finished healing. Until then keep this between us and just keep an eye on him."

The other nods and leaves. The next few days pass in a similar pattern until, about three days later, Yi stops next to Umeji after breakfast. "Come with me." Luva gives the other an encouraging smile. "Go on Me-chan, I'll be in the garden today so just come join me after you talk with Yi-sama okay?" He waves the kitsune off then dives back into his food effectively ignoring the other.

Once in his office, Yi takes his normal seat and motions the other to sit. "Now then, doubtless you have many thoughts or questions as to why you're here, but I doubt any includes the actual reason for this meeting." Taking a moment he looks the other over and clearly is passing some sort of judgement over the other male. "As I'm sure you're aware I've been keeping tabs on you, and while I have my concerns and doubts about you they are not currently sufficient enough to prohibit what I am about to do." With a faint imperceptible sigh, Yi relays his decision. "I have decided to take you with me for the season."

Pushing a hand through his hair in order to push it back, as well as being a sign of worry and tension, he continues on. "You will mainly be responsible for Luva and making sure he isn't alone or harmed. However, you will have to conduct yourself in a manner appropriate when we are around the ton which I am doubting your ability to do so." His gaze stays level and unreadable on the other. "As such, let me make this clear. You will go through training to be passable, and you will act in a manner acceptable because if not Luva will be the one held accountable as he is the one who asked for you to go. He already knows and accepts that he will be responsible for your actions, much as you will be responsible for his physical safety."

Letting out a long breath through his nose, he leans back slightly. "I would have gone with leaving you here to stay out of the ton's sight and mind, but we both feel that months away from one another might be just as detrimental. So with that, any questions or comments?"
