Vivian dor Vellin

Appearance

Vivian is albino. His hair is a very pale blonde and dead straight. It is thin and light so it gets caught in the wind easily. He likes to keep it as long as he can but some of the things his mother does to him means he loses his hair. It currently falls to about half way down his back and is normally tied back in a loose ponytail. The hair on the rest of his body has the same pale, soft look to it. It's almost unnoticeable on first glance because it blends in with the colour of his skin so well. His skin lacks all pigment. The only colour to it is a pinkish tinge from his blood. His eyes are an off-white shade of blue and the soft colour of his eyebrows makes them hard to see. He is tall with a slender build. He has no curves or softness whatsoever. He barely has any muscle on his body so if he were to remove his shirt people would see his spine and the bottom of his ribcage.

Vivian likes to keep his body covered all the way to his hands and neck. He is rarely seen without a cravat or some sort of scarf covering his neck, though there are a few reasons for this. The gloves he wears go all the way to his elbows so that even if his sleeves came up he won't get burnt. When outside he even wears a hooded capelet or cloak. His shirt and pants are very simple: creamy white and soft grey-blue. His shoes are soft and thin, which means they're quite worn. They button up on the side but the buttons are glued in place now. He uses them as slip-ons. He only has one set of clothes so he has to wash them every night.

As an asvang, Vivian has an "original form", which looks something akin an oversized bat. The differences are he is primarily bipedal and he has arms as well as wings. The scapulae form the base of the wing joint rather than the rotator cuff. The original form is the same size as his human one. Normally the original form would be larger but its size is very dependent on physical strength, lifestyle, training and feeding. His original skin is as dark as his human skin is light. The only similar colouring is the pale blue of his eyes.

Name

He would never tell you but his birth name was Victor dor Vellin. It was changed when he was eight years old to Vivian dor Vellin (an honorary dor).

Age

He is the apparent age of 18 and has lived 57 years. His race ages at the rate of one year for every five human years, depending on their lifestyle, physical condition and what type of blood they drink. Drinking human blood on a daily basis will stop the ageing process completely. Due to Vivian's treatment, he only ages one year for every four.

Biography

Vivian is very reluctant for anyone to know his past, for knowing it endangers his future. If nobody knows then nobody can tell. If his mother were to discover his presence he would be captured by her men, dragged back to her and punished for yet another escape attempt. What is written in this biography would not make it into the annexes. The same goes for the information about his name and even his species. There are few asvang in the world and they keep themselves hidden, even from other mythological beings.

In an Earth setting Vivian was born in a manor house in Auvergne, France. It is an agricultural province that doesn't get much attention from outside, making it the perfect place for a small band of blood-drinkers to his in. The heavy snowfall and cold climate means they can keep their skin covered without suspicion. In his original setting he was born in the same manor house about half an hour from the capital of a city-state called Kali. Kali sits just north of a lake on one of the northern continent's major rivers. The city is an important way point on the major trade route north. It is important because it has a thriving agricultural community and is perfect for restocking supplies. In both settings his mother runs a cattle farm. This is because she can sell the meat and collect the blood, thus negating the need to attack other farms and rousing suspicion.

Victor dor Vellin's infancy was a pleasant one. If he were to look back he would undoubtedly have a melancholy smile upon his face. His father loved him dearly and, for the most part, his mother did too. Devioa suffered from post natal depression. She would not breastfeed him and she rarely noticed the drawings and chains of flowers he laid in front of her door. In her daze she would step on them without ever knowing they were there. Vivian was too young to understand what was happening and didn't understand why his "treasures" didn't make her happy. As distant as his mother was from him, his father was close. His father would read to him in the old language, Asvangga, tell him stories and even took up his mother's duty of breastfeeding him. Asvang drink blood so, physically speaking, either parent can feed their infant. After a month Veau's chest even began to swell like a woman's breasts did during this time, though not nearly as much as a woman's would have.

It wasn't until Victor was five years old that his fate seemed to change. Devoia's post natal depression had caused Veau to seek out other women. By the time Victor was five (in both apparent age and physical age) he was having an affair with a half-caste. The young boy knew his father's actions were wrong and begged him to stop but by that time he cared more for his mistress than his wife. Victor was in his father's closet trying on the man's clothes when he saw it. Devoia was away making a deal with a slaver and his father was taking advantage of her vacation. Victor remained silent and peeked out between the slats. He watched in horror as his mother broke in the door and slaughtered the lovers in their bed. Officially it was declared she'd acted in self defence but suspicion still lay about her like some dark miasma. It was an entire week later when the servants found Victor hiding under the bed in one of the guest rooms.

Ever since that fateful day Victor was afraid of his mother. He looked too much like his father and shared all the same loves; surely the child would turn out like Veau in the end. Devioa had dearly loved her husband but now all she could see of him was his betrayal; all she could feel was loathing. She had changed, or perhaps it wasn't a change so much as revealing a different part of her character. It didn't make Victor's situation any better that he now trembled when he looked at his mother and had to be forced to look at her. He still made her necklaces of flowers and placed drawings on her seat at the table but now she just brushed them aside or told the servants to throw them out. He gathered them up and placed them in his box of treasures, forever hoping one day she would see them for what they really were.

Most boys of his kind did not start school and tutoring until they were seven. At only five Victor was handed over to a tutor three times a week. Meeting the man was a frightening experience. His mother held tight to his hand the whole way to the man's door, as though he was going to be handed over to someone he should learn to fear. After all, it had only been a few months since he'd watched the woman murder his father. Victor was ordered to stand properly, speak louder and look up. The man's inspection and questioning frightened the tiny boy. Finally, the man agreed to tutor him and he was taken back to the car. It turned out Master Mordei was strict and flogged him when he failed to perform but in no way was he cruel. He pushed Victor at the same level he started out with his older students, teaching the subjects Devoia chose for the boy. Victor was expected to know how to behave in cultured society, asvang history as well as learn how to keep accounts.

With Veau gone and Victor out of the way, Devoia sought out a new suitor. Henor was a friend from her youth. He was younger than her but still shared her apparent age. By the time he was ten years old (almost seven in apparent age), his mother had given birth to a beautiful baby girl named Lana. As soon as Devioa was well she had the boy disinherited and changed his name to Vivian, claiming that he was infirm. At roughly the same time Henor forbid him from speaking to her or even coming near her. The boy was so quiet, so flighty and so awkward around his elders; it wasn't hard for Henor to believe all the horrible things Devoia said about the child.

Vivian's first meeting with his sister was not a good one. He was hiding away in the bottom of the linen closet, in trouble with his mother. Lena found him and tried to drag him out like the nasty thing she believed him to be. Vivian was so afraid of being sent back into the dark room below the doctor's quarters. The dark room was completely sealed with barely any airflow. Such sensory deprivation was often used as a form of torture. Vivian screamed when his sister pulled and lashed out in self defence. As soon as he realised he'd hit his sister and made her cry, he ran. He ran out into the snow so hard and so fast he didn't know where he was going. Henor came after him, furious, and dragged him back inside. It was the first time Vivian's arm was broken. It wasn't the last time it would happen and it wasn't the worst injury he would sustain.

Ever since the day his mother bit him, Vivian's treatment worsened. By that time he'd become Lana's nursemaid, governess and toy. If she wanted to go outside Vivian had no power to stop her. He had to beg and persuade her not to travel the fence line all the way to the front gate. He was too afraid that she would go to Henor and accuse him of hurting her. There was nothing he could do to stop her from talking to the boy on the other side of the fence. He could not leave her to go for help, he could not stop her and he could not scold her. He had to stay with her, anxious, and hope she wouldn't say anything that would get him in trouble later. She did. She revealed to the boy what they were, at which time Vivian grabbed his sister and marched back towards the house. When the servants told his mother what had happened, Vivian panicked. He struggled, pushed away and even kicked in an attempt to get away, which only resulted in his mother slicing him across the cheek. After she licked his blood from her fingers and looked down at the boy with such hatred, Vivian cowered and fell back on the floor. She'd read his blood. She'd seen the "treachery" in his blood. She did not hold back. She sank all four of her fangs into his flesh and didn't stop sucking until she'd read everything she wanted. When Devoia released him, Vivian was already unconscious.

From that day forth feeding from him became a regular occurrence. She would know if he was being underhanded, she would know if he'd done something wrong and she would know if he was planning to escape. Her cruelty didn't stop there. The punishments inflicted by her whilst under the doctor's quarters and in the black room were best left unsaid and unknown. They caused his body to weaken until it was believed he had some weakness of the blood, supposedly inherited from his father's side. His mother's treatment, his studies with Master Mordei and serving Lana wore him down until he would sometimes collapse where he stood. All the while Henor would watch him, hound him and even beat him for things Lana would claim he'd done. Eventually he escaped, but such attempts never succeeded for more than a year. With each escape attempt he would be dragged back, punished then returned to his bed as a breathing corpse. During the times he was away his mother would say he was being taken care of by a specialist doctor or away at boarding schools. Only on occasion would she admit he'd ran away, using it as proof he was defective and needed to be kept under close watch. Who knew what he would get up to without his elders making sure he didn't bite people or reveal the asvang to the world?

Personality

Vivian is a quiet man with a soft voice. When he does speak he is well spoken and well mannered. It is rare to hear him retort and when he does it is usually subtle. This does not mean he is shy or insecure though, far from it. It's merely doesn't see the need to approach people, shout or speak often. He is very self-content and secure in who he is. He has always found seeking inner happiness is far more reliable than seeking it in his surroundings. He doesn't see himself as a reflection of the company he's in or the treatment given to him. He guards his hopes carefully and is capable of protecting himself against all onslaughts. It means he is able to find the calm in almost any situation and come out from it unbroken. He still has his fears and foibles but his approach to them makes him more resilient than others would be in his situation.

The things Vivian fears most are: his mother, sensory deprivation, having his blood read, cruelty, the dark, places that are too quiet and being handed to a new master. He doesn't like sex either (especially gay sex) but it isn't a fear. When faced with his fears he will usually panic and try to escape them then recoil into himself and simply yield to them. He does put up a fight but it is mostly defensive rather than aggressive. Often times it is better to yield to his fears than risk further pain. He would much rather wait for a chance to escape than cause harm to himself or others. He knows how to wait and he's always looking for ways out. When faced with a dislike he most likely won't panic and simply ask for it not to be so or avoid it.

The past is something Vivian rarely talks about. It's because he doesn't like thinking about the past. It stirs so many conflicting emotions in him and usually leaves him in a melancholy silence. If he does speak about his past it's usually nothing of consequence and nothing sinister. He's afraid of how his masters would treat him if they knew, the prospect of his mother finding him and people questioning him further about it. The times he has mentioned anything of his past, his people or his homeland (France, not the South Pole) it ended badly. He doesn't even speak with an accent any more. The way he speaks is very proper without any lilt of any kind. It would be impossible to place him from speech alone.

Abilities

Vivian has a few race-based abilities but no "magic". All the abilities he does have are physiological rather than arcane.

Regeneration: His kind are capable of enduring much more than humans. They heal faster and can regrow damaged body part. As a rough standard, it takes Vivian one year to regrow his wings. If he were as healthy and as strong as other asvang this healing time would decrease. This ability is very much dependant on physical strength, lifestyle, training and feeding. The healthier a person is, the more they feed, the better the quality of the blood they drink and the more sleep they get the faster they will heal. Fortune has not favoured Vivian in this way. He will gradually get healthier the longer he is taken care of. The fastest way for an asvang to heal (which to them is synonymous with regenerate) is to become a "breathing corpse". It basically means going into a healing coma. It takes a lot of damage to become a breathing corpse and if he does he will not be able to be roused by anything other than immediate danger, meaning the affliction of more damage. This happens automatically; if he is that physically damaged he has to fight to stay awake and he is unlikely to be able to rouse himself.

Blood reading: Asvang are able to taste blood memories. The ability is based on heightened senses of smell and taste. It is not something they need to activate or put power into. As soon as the blood touches lands inside of the drinker's mouth they taste it. In animals it is simply their emotions and how healthy they are but in people it is much more. Where the mind's memories are skewed by the person's interpretation of what happens to them, blood memories are the actuality of their life. They show exactly what happened to the person, how a person is feeling, their thoughts, their health and even what has happened to them. The fresher the memory the more prominent it is, thus the easier to read. Vivian finds blood reading to be more of a violation than rape so would never do this to a person and would never allow it to happen to himself. In fact, he panics when others of his kind bite him. He would rather regurgitate the blood than taste it.

Shifting: At night he can change into his original form. If he is badly injured, weak or comatose this will happen automatically.

Sixth sense: When his other senses are taken away he can sense the dead. This is because the other five senses get in the way of the sixth sense and people tend to pay more attention to them. For example, if you deafen him he will hear the dead and if you blind him he will see the dead. It is partially the reason he very much does not enjoy sensory deprivation.

Gender bending: Vivian has no control over this. He has witchcraft tattoos across his entire back that will not come off. The spell is constantly re-inking itself so that his healing abilities will not cause it to fade. The only way for him to get rid of it is to cut it off and burn it. The witchcraft causes him to change between four other genders. When someone other than him says one of the five cardinal points within earshot, it will change his gender. Saying "north" will turn him female, "east" will turn him female but with male genitalia, "west" for male with female genitalia, "south" for both genders and "origin" to go back to male. When the sun crosses the horizon each day he will turn back into a male.

Inabilities

Vivian's people originate from the South Pole. An armada travelled north to the North Pole where they crashed in the ice. From there they slowly migrated south and settled in a few places throughout Europe (or the northern continent of his original setting). For this reason Vivian has a different set of strengths and weaknesses to humans. He's very used to them though so for the most part he's able to work around them. For example, by staying in the shade or putting on a hood and gloves he can keep his skin protected.

Aversion to sunlight: Due to being a polar species, Vivian's people are more at home in temperatures below ten degrees Celsius. They are capable of keeping their bodies warm well below the freezing point of water. The negative to this is they cannot cope with strong sunlight or heat. The lack of pigment means their skin would blister and burn in the sunlight. An hour in the sun is dangerous, a few days is lethal.

Aversion to heat: Their aversion to heat is linked in with their aversion to light, in that it stems from their ancestry in the South Pole. They are incapable of cooling their bodies down. They do sweat but it is not nearly enough to protect them from the heat. It is more an emotional response than a cooling mechanism.

Short-sightedness: Asvang rely on their senses of smell, taste and hearing to interpret the world rather than their sight. Many are born blind (and without a sense of smell too but that's irrelevant to Vivian). For this reason Vivian is very short-sighted. He simply cannot see nor read anything at a distance. Even when he's reading books he has to hold it close. It would probably be nice for him to have a set of reading glasses as well as a pair of distance ones. He should be wearing thick glasses but he's never been tested for them or presented with any. It would no doubt be a great honour to be given some.

Food allergies: Eating anything other than blood and its constituents (e.g. water, serum, sweat and piss) is fatal within a few hours, depending on how much he has ingested. It causes an allergic reaction that consists of dysentery, fevers, trembling, ulcers, intestinal bleeding and vomiting. It is so painful to asvang that if they are not tied down they will begin clawing at their stomach. Trying to remove their stomach is another reason why it is fatal. Even after the intestinal tract is completely empty the allergic reaction will continue. If the food does not come out fast enough, the reaction will take over their whole body. A shot of epinephrine will help but he's never been given an autoinjector before.

The Goryeo National Detentional Academy - it's one of many dententionary academies where potentially deranged and dangerous adults are sent before they commit a crime. The school is operated under the Goryeo National Regime and is known as the strictest of its kind in the civilised world. All students are constantly monitored and followed. Even bathroom breaks are recorded and require a bathroom monitor to watch over them while they do their business. There are specially trained security guards watching the students' every move to make sure they don't use dangerous magic, harm anyone or try to escape. The academy is as secure as any prison, especially considering many of the students can use dangerous or uncontrollable magic.

The students at Goryeo National Detentional Academy cannot be trusted. They have been seen as a danger to themselves and those around them by their peers, neighbours and families. Many have been partitioned by the community or have had lengthy applications made on their behalf. No sane person would sign themselves up to be part of the somewhat unorthodox rehabilitation therapies. Many come kicking and screaming, begging and crying or under lock and key when they arrive. The academy, and those like it, are a last resort to straighten men and women out into functional members of society.

The academy is divided into three sub-schools: Wiheomhan for dangerous individuals, Mabeob for those with dangerous or uncontrollable magic and Yangja for those who are both dangerous and magical. Students spend at least three years at the academy until they are fully cured of their dangerous nature. Only when they can prove they are no longer a danger to society are they let out.

The types of therapies the students are likely to experience range from art, exercise and music therapies all the way to shock therapy and hypnotism. They are constantly being reprogrammed and brainwashed into becoming better people. Psychiatrists and professionals are brought in to conduct experimental treatments on groups of students and if they are successful, the experiments become academy-wide. With how little is understood about the mind and magic and the unscientific way professionals come to their theories, many of the experiments may seem more dangerous or insane than the students themselves.

'Please, no! I didn't start it!' begged Vivian dor Vellin.

'You were as much a part of the fight as I was,' snapped Dameon in a taunting voice.

'I was defending myself! I never struck back!' Vivian replied in an exasperated tone.

'Silence, you two!' demanded one of the four security guards manhandling the pair down the halls towards the Head of Discipline's office.

The two men had their wrists cuffed behind their backs and they were being dragged along by two burly men to await their punishment. They were shoved into seats outside the office and held down while they waited to be seen. Vivian didn't see the point of fighting so he just sat back with his eyes closed and sighed. He'd been here far too long and knew how things worked. If one struggled, it would only end up worse for them.

The woman, Eun-Jung, came out of the office and looked at the pair. Vivian had a split and bleeding lip, along with a swollen eyebrow. Dameon had not a mark on him. She looked down at them disapprovingly with her hands resting firmly on her lips. Vivian couldn't see her facial expression from that distance but the scent coming from her was unmistakable - bottled rage and distaste.

'Bring in the asvang,' she instructed before walking back into her office.

The two men holding onto Vivian hefted him up, though he could have stood up on his own, and pushed him into the office and sat him down. They weren't taking any chances with him. Nobody ever took chances with the students of Goryeo National Detentional Academy.

'Do you know why you are here?' Eun-Jung asked as she sat down behind her desk.

Vivian nodded silently.

'Why?' she asked.

'I was late to exercise class because I was being beaten by my dorm mate,' he replied simply.

'Don't sass me. This is your third fight so far this year,' she answered.

'Please, Ma'am. I don't start these fights. I don't want to get into fights. I just want to be left alone,' the asvang explained. 'However, if someone hits me, I am going to put my arms up to protect myself.'

'Why don't you just walk away?' she asked in a superior tone.

'It's hard to walk away when you're surrounded by a ring of people encouraging you to fight back.'

'You're referring to your last incident in the hall.'

'Yes, Ma'am. This time I couldn't get away because I was in a locked room, being held down.'

The woman sighed heavily. Vivian spoke well but he always caused trouble, ever since he'd arrived four years ago. He was always trying to escape, always in the wrong place and always getting into fights. There had even been a few cases of flirting and sexual misconduct with other students.

'I'm going to assign you a keeper and put you in a different dorm. You're to wait outside until I find someone,' Eun-Jung decided.

'Yes, Ma'am,' Vivian replied with a bow. He was relieved he'd be moved to a different dorm. Maybe now he would have some peace.

"Did you hear about the fight that broke out between dorm mates?" a few voices spoke out in the crowd of guys over in the western wing of Mabeob. Footsteps were drowned out in the gossip, even as it echoed off the hallway walls.

"Those two are screwed. I hear this is like the 100th fight!" an exaggeration....

"If I were them I'd beg for forgiveness and do everything I could to get away from that one lady. People say she's so terrifying that if you look at her too long you'll piss yourself." a horrible observation....

"Shit that's gotta be rough. So who's raiding their room then? I was thinking of getting any money out of there if possible." a fool....

"I'll go with you but I'm only after like collectibles." a collector...

The steps grew louder and louder as a figure came closer to the group.

"Hey I might want to get in on that. Who knows what you could find in there!" but all together...

A dark figure stopped just beyond the group, looming over them. As the first guy who had spoken up about the whole ordeal in the first place looked up, his eyes shrank in fear. His scream was nothing short of a school girl in a zombie movie. Everyone's eyes turned to the man standing behind them. a bunch of useless worms.

"It's the Reaper! Run!!!!" Someone screamed and they began to scatter, the commotion would end up with a noise complaint in one way or another so the man had to get things under control. All of those who spoke out about raiding the room were stripped from the scattering cloud and held by their necks with seemingly invisible hands but it was all just an extension of the mans magic.

"Going to go steal from a dorm room? That's a criminal act. It's not tolerated in any sector of the NDA and you all know this. Guess you're all getting reported hm?" They all began to squirm helplessly, all of their attempts in vain. Only three people were held in his grasp but their fear made him feel like he had captured a legion. It felt amazing and it was felt deep in his bones.

"P-Please have mercy on us! We won't do it again! We swear!" The others began nodding their heads vigorously in agreement but they all ceased movement at the sound of deep chuckling. The man bent over and began full out laughter. "I'm the reaper. I don't do mercy. I take lives...not give." He started down the hallway with his victims involuntarily tagging along with him.

After dropping off the idiots the man prepared to go back the way he came however he was stopped by a secretary. The red head pushed her glasses up her nose and spoke.

"T-The l-lady er I mean madame um M-Miss-"

"The hag wants to see me?" The red headed woman visibly cringed but nodded while squeezing her eyes shut. It was as if she was scared that someone would hear him and he'd get in trouble. Or perhaps she was worried for herself. Not that it mattered. "Alright. Thanks for the message." The walk was short considering the hags office was only about 2 minutes from where he had dropped of the idiots from before. He gingerly knocked on the door and when a voice told him to come in he obliged.

After shutting the door behind him, the man sat down. His pale mismatching eyes focused on the woman, the markings around his eyes were scanned over by the woman. It was something she did every time she saw him. His pale orange eye and his pale sakura pink eye landed on the woman's desk to avoid her strange gaze.

"You rang," he finally spoke up in a curious tone.

"Indeed. I'm assigning you as a keeper. There was a fight today and-"

"Yeah I know. Heard all about it. The question is- why do I have to be a keeper? I like being a hall monitor better. I get to terrorize the students." He mumbled in a displeased manner, a hand coming up to move different shades of brown locks out of his face.

"I do not need to remind you of your capabilities. In a sense you already know why you were chosen. You should be honored." The woman walked over to the slouching, seated man and placed a folder in his lap. Before he could question what it was she began explaining. "This is all the information on the person you will be watching for quite some time. It's best to know what you're dealing with."

The man rolled his eyes and groaned but it became an inward groan when the woman shot him a dirty look, like he was the scum of the earth. So that's the look those idiots were talking about. Huh...I could see me shitting myself from a look like that, he inwardly thought but immediately shook it off.

"Great. Fantastic. That's amazing. Loving this conversation by the way." The brunette scratched lightly at his double pierced ear. Once again the woman, Eun-Jung glared at him but seemed to internally give up and she rolled her eyes before commenting,

"You'd look a lot better if you put down your collar. It's no wonder they gave you the name that they did. Karma the Reaper." The man chuckled with an almost dry look.

"I doubt my fashion choices have anything to do with why people call me that. Besides it's totally not a cool name. They've added an R to my name. It's K-A-H-M-A not K-A-R-M-A. It doesn't even make sense."

"The similarity in sound is most likely where it was brought up. In any case...you will be meeting the one you are to take care of soon. They will be brought in shortly. We had to relocate them to a temporary holding room due to the more violent student trying to engage in dangerous acts against the other." Kahma grinned and gave a simple shrug.

"Eh what the hell. Could be fun."

'Hey, Vivian?' Dameon whispered.

Vivian sat there quietly, looking at his hands as though they'd grown a new finger.

'Do you really think a new dorm is going to save you?' the other guy taunted.

Still Vivian said nothing.

'Tchhh,' Dameon scowled. He looked up at the two men holding him and smirked. 'Wherever you go, it'll still be the same. You don't belong here. You're weak.'

The asvang didn't take the bait. Perhaps that was why he was always getting into trouble. It annoyed people when he ignored them. He didn't respond to them and didn't fight back so they thought he was weak.

'That's it, enough from you two,' announced the security guard holding onto Vivian.

The student was bodily yanked up and dragged from the room into a holding room, where he was to await his keeper. Vivian didn't like to imagine who it was. There were several keepers in the academy and all of them were as nasty and violent as most of the students. Many were even previous students who had been considered "functional". Vivian supposed it was inevitable that he'd end up with a keeper after everything that had happened but he still felt a pit of dread in his stomach at the thought. It was well known what some keepers did to their wards, everything from physical harm to flat out rape. They could do almost anything to their wards to keep them in line. Most of the superiors in the detentional academy could do what they wanted to students. Letters home were screened and it wasn't like their families still cared about them. At least, Vivian's family would not care in the slightest if something happened to him here.

Which reminded Vivian, it was about time he sent a letter to his cousin, Taila. He hadn't received a letter from her in a while and he could only suspect it had been lost in the long journey from Auvergine to Goryeo. His homeland was more than half way across the known world, much to the pleasure of his family. He'd had to learn the local language upon arriving and he knew nothing of local geography and culture. It meant if he did finally manage to escape, he'd have a hard time getting help. It didn't help that he looked so foreign too. To the local people he looked like a tall, pale demon.

Vivian shifted uncomfortably in his seat and twisted his hands back and forth. The cuffs were too tight and they were starting to cut off blood flow to his hands. He didn't even bother complaining or asking to have them removed because it would go unheard at best. There was one thing he could ask for though.

'Excuse me, Sirs. I don't suppose I could trouble you for a glass of water or blood. It's just, I missed firstmeal and lastmeal was spilled on the floor,' he said in a quiet voice.

'No. That's your own fault. We're not a catering service. If your keeper takes you to the kitchens, that's his business,' said the security guard.

Vivian just sat back and closed his eyes. He would have to wait until midmeal.

After a few moments word would reach the guards that the keeper was waiting in Ms. Eun-Jung's office. They'd pull Vivian out from the holding cell and forcefully drag him back to the office. Upon coming to the door he was thrown inside without even a warning. Before he could hit the ground a tingle of something seemed to hold Vivian up before slowly lowering him to the ground. "That's what I'm watching over? Are you kidding me? Seriously?" Kahma bust out laughing, tears actually forming in his eyes from the pure hilarity of it all.

"You've got to be kidding me! Are you guys for real?" When he was shot another cold glare by Eun-Jung he began to quiet his laughter but only to some snickering here and there.

"Yes," she hissed out "you will be watching over Vivian dor Vellin." Her voice was like ice but it began to effect Kahma less and less the more he heard it.

"Dor Vellin? Is that french or something?" Before Eun-Jung could get a word in, Karma spoke up again "Honestly this guy doesn't look like he could hurt a fly. I mean I'm a sadistic asshole but I like a little fight in some of my victims you know?"

After receiving yet another glare from Eun-Jung, Kahma hushed up and waited further instruction. "Despite what he looks like the circumstances remain the same. Now the other keeper has requested that you give some advice for the one he is keeping."

"Who's he keeping?" Kahma asked with a raised eyebrow.

"The other ward who was separated from your current one," she answered in a matter-o-fact tone. Kahma hummed thoughtfully and lifted a hand up, playing with the items on Eun-Jung's desk in secret.

"Eh just tell him to drop him by my place. I'll give him a little brain melti-err washing. Brainwashing."

"Understood. That will be all then. You should know the way to your new dorm by now. I trust you will not fail me...Reaper."

Kahma dropped his hand which had dropped the wooden pen holder on Eun-Jung's desk and sighed. "Aye aye captain," he muttered with a two fingered salute. He shoved one hand into his pocket and used the other to swing the door to the hallway open, without physically touching it. He then lifted his hand which would lift his new Ward off the ground so he could stand and begin walking in front of him. He had to watch him so there was no way in hell he was letting the pale guy walk behind him.

"Alright bleach bottle we're going to be going straight for a while so get to walking." His voice came off rather monotone but he was actually interested in his new job- for now.

It wasn't long before word came to the man watching over Vivian that the keeper had arrived. Vivian closed his eyes and swallowed when he heard who he'd be getting. Wasn't the Reaper supposed to be a hall monitor? In fact, Vivian was sure the Reaper was the one who'd broken up a fight almost two years ago. He could remember it clearly. He'd had his pants stripped to his ankles and his shirt lifted up while he kicked and thrashed against the two people holding him down. By the time he'd bolted, the Reaper had shown up and he'd been yanked straight back towards the fight. His clothes had been a mess and he'd had an almost feral look about him. He hadn't meant to get himself so riled up but in the moments after his pants had been pulled down, he'd thought he was about to be raped. They hadn't, however, they'd been wanting to see if his pale skin went all the way to his cock and arse. It did. He didn't even have a tan line, just pale the whole way. No doubt it was the shouting that had caught the hall monitor's attention. Vivian had just wished it wasn't the Reaper who'd turned up. That was worse than being stripped and inspected.

So Vivian was not looking forward to having the Reaper as a keeper. He didn't stand up at first when the two men yanked him and ended up being dragged by his hair. He pulled back, trying to cement himself on the spot but he didn't have the strength of two men combined. In the end they ended up hefting him up and holding him over one shoulder while they carried him the rest of the way to the Head of Discipline's office. As the man tossed him to the floor, he curled up in a tight, protective ball with his arms around his head. Even after he'd been caught, he still held like that for a few moments. He waited until he was sure it was safe before getting up on his knees with his hands will behind his back. His hands were starting to sting now from lack of blood flow.

Vivian listened to the world around him rather than looking up. He pushed himself up and moved over to the chair to sit down, keeping silent in case someone objected.

'I'm not French; I'm asvang. "Dor Vellin" means a third class lord or lady of the Vellin family,' Vivian replied firmly. It was like saying he was a prince, or at least an aristocrat, though he didn't expect Kahma or Eun-Jung to understand that. In truth, however, he was only an honorary dor, which meant he could keep the name and family but not the inheritance. He could not pass on his status to his children or bondmate.

'He may not look like much but he's made it past the perimeter fence four times now,' Eun-Jung warned in a stern, no nonsense voice. The perimeter fence was a good kilometre away, set on a large plain so any escapees were easily spotted. 'Make sure you keep a close eye on him at all times he's in your care and make sure he's locked up securely at night.'

Vivian looked up and rolled his shoulders. He hadn't thought of that. Getting out of there would definitely be harder with a keeper. Although, on the other hand it might mean he wouldn't be locked up with three other men at night. Oh... oh... what if he was locked in with the Reaper instead? Without warning, Vivian let out a low groan, causing Eun-Jung to look at him. He immediately ducked his head down and tensed up as though someone were about to hit him. He didn't want to draw attention to himself.

The asvang tensed up again as he was lifted up in the air. He managed to get his feet under him and moved to the door as quick as he could. It opened before him so he walked out and looked from side to side as he listened to the sounds in the halls. There was no point trying to bolt at this point because the Reaper would just lift him in the air and drag him back.

'Bleach bottle?' Vivian asked.

'I don't suppose we could stop by the kitchens. I'd much appreciate a bowl of blood before you take me,' he said in a polite voice, not realising how "take me" sounded in the Goryeo language. It wasn't his native language and sometimes he said things that weren't quite right.

Vivian bit his lip and glanced back at the man behind him. He twisted his hands back and forth then clenched them to try to get blood flow into them. They were really starting to hurt. If he didn't get them loosened soon, clots would start to form. He stopped walking, glanced back towards the office and spoke up.

'Please, may you please go back to the office and get the keys to the cuffs from security? My hands are stinging and I'm worried the tightness could be damaging them,' he asked in a quiet voice. He didn't even look up. 'I promise I'll stay here. I have no intention of going anywhere.'

Kahma yawned as his new Ward spoke. "So you're one of those types huh?" Kahma groaned loudly while throwing his head back. "Complaints already? Yeesh you're noisy but whatever. Can't have your hands falling off and I don't need their stupid keys. Those are titanium cuffs. Carbonized titanium- might I add. Therefore simple for me to take off myself." Unlike his usual distanced approach, Kahma came close to Vivian and placed the palms of his hands on the back of the cuffs, fingers all stretched out.

"You might feel a slight squeeze." The specialized cuffs would tighten around Vivian's wrists for a moment before crumbling and falling in chunks onto the ground. "You're so frail looking, I'm surprised you even held them up so well. I mean they're heavy you know?" Kahma didn't really expect a response so instead kicked the remains of the cuffs to the side and lifted Vivian with one of his powers. "So blood for you and spicy chicken for me. Sounds like a plan." The man spoke with a bit of pep in his step. Now that food was brought into the equation he could honestly say that he was feeling a bit hungry. This worked out in more ways than one.

Kahma walked Vivian all the way down to the cafeteria area. The place where workers and other higher ups ate. It was much classier than what Vivian would be used to but luckily for them they were really early because it was empty.

Kahma let Vivian down gently which was something unlike him entirely but it would go unnoticed because it could be taken that if he put Vivian down too hard or wasn't careful he could shoot through the floor. It was more of a matter that not many were here, besides it wasn't as if he cared either way. "Alright you stay here and don't move. I'm going to get your blood and my sandwich." One thing that had been bugging him was why no one had fed Vivian. Sure he may have been in trouble but he'd die if he didn't eat and as a hall monitor if he had found his body he'd have to take care of it.

The kitchen attendants greeted Kahma as he came by. Engaging in friendly conversation with his resting bitch face- save for the smile. While the others worked on the blood and his chicken sandwich he explained his new situation. He decided to take a glance over the woman he was talking to as she spoke to look at how the meals were being prepared.

His eyes became steely. "Oi what's that awful stench." He asked as he looked to the blonde haired woman he usually flirted with.

"O-Oh that's the blood you asked for. You know for your keeper." The woman leaned over to whisper in his ear. "All those who are not workers do not get grade A food like workers do." Kahma's expression did not change but his tone did.

"So...where's the blood coming from." His voice was ice cold. The woman was picking up on the signs and swallowed as she took a step back from the counter.

"Rotting...deceased animals." The thing that scared her the most was that he smiled. He pulled his elbows off the counter and turned around to go get his Ward. "Hey..." he greeted with a mist creepy grin. "I need you to wait outside for just a moment." Vivian would not be given an option seeing as Kahma was manually with his own hands picking Vivian up and escorting him outside the cafe doors. The doors were closed behind him and all entry would be denied.

It had been 20 minutes since the racket in the cafe had begun and it finally died down. Kahma came out an looked down at Vivian, he had a deep scratch on the side of his face but any other injuries seemed to either be non-existent or well hidden. In his left hand was a bowl of blood and on his right arm was a little white to-go box. "Here's your blood. They uh said it should taste fresher or something." He said and began walking off. "You can start eating now but I want to eat in our Dorm."

'Please forgive me,' Vivian replied, unsure what else he could say.

'Thank you, Sir,' as the Reaper approached and stood there patiently as the cuffs were released. As soon as the cuffs were falling to the floor, he lifted his hands and took off his white gloves. His hands were indeed purple so he rubbed them together and shook them to get the blood flow back into them. He looked across at the man as he spoke before looking back at his hands and putting the gloves back on. 'Oh, I didn't mind the weight. I'm stronger than I look.'

Of course, Vivian squirmed and kicked a bit when he was lifted up. He didn't like losing his faculties or being helpless. For a while he kept trying to get down and manoeuvre himself . When it did nothing, he sighed and accepted the fact he was stuck in mid-air. He hesitated though when he realised where they were going. He was sure the worker's cafeteria was not a place he was allowed to be. If he was caught there, even with his keeper, he would receive further punishment.

Once he was let down, Vivian looked to the door of the cafeteria and considered the wisdom of simply walking outside. Students weren't allowed in the halls alone either so it was probably best to stay with his keeper. At least then it was his keeper's decision to bring him in here rather than his own. He just hoped it didn't take long, or if it did, they were finished before they were caught.

Vivian hesitated visibly, concerned as to what the Kahma intended to do. He wasn't called "the Reaper" for nothing. Surely there was a point where the keeper would be reprimanded though. He wouldn't be allowed to harm other staff, would he? He was surely allowed to terrorise the students but had to toe the line with the higher-ups.

'Whatever you're about to do, don't do it,' he said. 'I'll drink the animal blood.'

The student didn't get a choice though. He was levitated out of the brasserie and the doors locked behind him. Vivian knew it was locked because he walked over and tried to open it. He really didn't want anyone getting hurt on his account and he didn't trust Karma, rumours or not.

During those twenty minutes, Vivian could hear everything acutely. His hearing was far better than his sight. All that noise sounded like the Reaper was taking on the entire kitchen staff. He wouldn't take their blood... would he? No, that was too far, even for the Reaper.

'I...' Vivian hesitated as he took the bowl. 'This isn't human blood, is it? I do appreciate you getting it for me but I simply can't drink blood from people.'

He knew he was asking a lot now. Kahma had already commented on him being a complainer and he didn't like the accusation. There were just some things he could and couldn't do though. He didn't feel the Reaper would be interested in listening to his reasoning either. It was probably best to keep out of his way and stay as quiet as possible for the most part. In fact, it disturbed most people that asvang could read people's blood, which is why it was illegal in his country. Maybe he wouldn't be charged while in Goryeo but he didn't know the laws here. Even if it was allowed, he still had a visceral loathing for drinking other people's blood or having them drink his. It was violating to have every thought, emotion and blood memory able to be read as easily as an open book.

"What ew that's disgusting. I mean they're all bleeding somewhere in there but I didn't take blood from them. I just got one of them to get me some fresh- non disease ridden blood. Damn a thank you would be nice." Kahma could say that he could care less for a thank you at this point but hell it was whatever at this point. "Anyway room let's go. Stop stalling." Kahma began walking again without stopping this time and if he got too far ahead, he'd tug Vivian along with a light tug of his finger and his magic did the rest.

"Alright this is our dorm. Since I'm staying here too it looks a little better than what you're used to I'm sure."

Kahma walked further into the room and shut the door behind Vivian. He walked up the little upper floor layers to go situate himself on the bed. After opening the to-go box, Kahma began chowing down. Spicy chicken really was the best. It tasted like pure gold in his mouth and it was his go to meal when he couldn't think of what to get from the cafe. Besides that sometimes he simply craved the spicy, meaty goodness.

The bed was very soft and slowly sunk under him. Memory foam. It would be alright to sleep on. He preferred his other bed with the springs. It felt nicer to him somehow. It felt better to a lot of people who didn't like overly soft beds but he assumed the people in charge of prepping this room were told to make it comfortable for him by all means necessary. He would assume that all of his stuff was already folded and set in the white night stand in front of the bed.

After he finished his sandwich he tossed out the white to-go box and made his way over to the little library. He pulled out a book and plopped down on the bed, back comfortably set against half of the bed.

'Forgive me. I'm sorry I thought that of you, Sir,' Vivian said as he inclined his head. He scooped up a lock of hair dangling down the side of his face and tucked it back into his low pony tail. 'Thank you for the fresh blood.'

The young asvang made sure to keep pace with the Reaper - not too far behind him and not to close as to step on his heels. He kept silent the rest of the way to the Reaper's dorm, thinking the man would not wish to speak with a lowly student. He'd been relatively kind and obliging so far so Vivian didn't want to test the man's limits. He'd rather stay on the man's good side and not end up with broken bones, if rumours were anything to go by. The Reaper was known to harass anyone who got on his bad side, other workers included. Almost everyone was terrified of him. It was even rumoured he'd been a student here too before he'd been "reformed".

Vivian blinked a few times in surprise when he was the dormitory. It looked nothing like anything he would have expected from anyone's room in the Goryeo National Detentional Academy. He would have assumed even the Headmistress didn't live in such opulence. He squinted slightly and looked around the room as best he could, still standing just inside the doorway. All he could see were colours, blobs and a rough estimate of how large the room was. It was larger than dormitories built for four students!

'This is even more luxurious than my room at home,' he commented aloud, more to himself than the Reaper.

The asvang waited a few moments to be told what to do but it seemed like Kahma was too busy with his own thoughts. Taking a few steps at first, Vivian walked over to the piano and sat down to drink his bowl of blood. He didn't have a spoon but that was fine. He didn't like the ceramic spoons they used in Goryeo. It had taken a lot of time and spilled blood to get used to them. Vivian brought the bowl to his lips and sipped silently, occasionally glancing over to the blob where Kahma was sitting. He didn't know what to expect of the Reaper. It was as if the man might jump at him at any second. Correction, the Reaper would more likely use his powers to drag Vivian over and force him to his knees... or perhaps throw him around the room like a shuttlecock.

When the blood was done, he set the bowl down on the chair next to him and walked over to the bookshelves. He wasn't sure what his limits were with Kahma, what he was and was not allowed to do. The only way to find out though was to test said limits to he reached out and picked up the closest book. He traced his finger along the spine, flipped it open and traced his hand along one of the pages before setting it back on the shelf. He then stepped closer to it until his feet were touching the base of the shelf, that way he could read the covers properly. He walked along beside the bookshelves, his lips twitching as he made out the Hangul. He'd learned all his sounds and letters within the first week of coming to the academy but he didn't know what all the words meant yet. He wanted to find something that wasn't too difficult, so he could relax and enjoy it rather than struggling over new words.

When he found a book that would suit, Vivian walked over to the second bed. He took off his shoes and settled himself down with his back against the bed head. Every so often he would glance over at where he could hear the Reaper to be. He should have been delivered to first period after missing exercise and first meal but it was possible nobody would come looking for him until he didn't show up for second period. It was his keeper's responsibility to make sure he turned up to all classes but up until an hour ago, the Reaper had been a hall monitor. Perhaps he still was, Vivian didn't know. Even so, it was likely Kahma wasn't aware of his duties yet, or hadn't thought about them seriously.

Vivian was in a pickle. He could speak to the Reaper and risk annoying the man with his complaints or he could keep quiet and get in trouble for not showing up to yet another class. No matter what he did, it seemed it would cause trouble for him. In the end, Vivian decided he would keep quiet, simply because it meant missing a session with one of the academy's psychiatrists and he could enjoy a little peace and quiet. It was nice to get lost in a book and not have to worry about everything in the detentional academy for a while.

An hour later someone came knocking quietly on the door, as if nervous to intrude. Despite his excellent hearing, Vivian was too absorbed in his book to hear the person approaching or even the knock at the door. It wasn't until they called out that he realised someone was there.

'Um, er... Kahma, is this your new r-room? Yo-your student, Vi-vi-vivian is missing,' they said before clearing their throat. It was a man by the sounds of it. 'He was meant to, er, turn up at second p-p-period fifteen m-minutes ago. The, um, hall monitors and s-security have been called in to look for him.'

The silence was absolutely to die for. Kahma hadn't enjoyed a good read in quite some time. He'd been busy dealing with noisy rule breakers and brats that thought they could beat him in a power match. In the end all attempts against him were in vain and he always won. Most feared him because of his overwhelming power. Some considered him to be overpowered and they weren't wrong...but they weren't right either. The rumors going around about the Reaper all held quite a bit of wait- meaning they could be proven true if further investigated.

Some talked about how he could have been a student in Yangja. Others spoke of how he could have been the one who started the brainwashing system in the school, and the rumors that rarely saw the light of day said that the only reason he walked the halls was because he brainwashed all of the faculty members, and anyone who resisted were sent to their early graves.

These however, were only rumors and he liked it that way. It gave everyone something to fear. Everyone was scared of something...but what was the reaper scared of? What were his weaknesses? Many students wished to know so they could take. him. down. Kahma who was both deep in thought and nose deep in his book was torn from it all when an obnoxious voice came to his ears, muffled by the door to his new dorm.

"What the shit," he muttered and then slapped his book down on the bed, eyes glaring daggers at the door. "Tell security to sit their asses down and tell his teacher or whoever the fuck that I had to take a long piss so he's going to be late. Capiche?!"

Kahma growled out and held out his hand towards Vivian, pulling him closer."Alright you little shit we're going to your damn class. You better be good if you know what's good for ya," Kahma warned in a pissed tone. Without letting Vivian go via magic, Kahma stormed over to the door, slamming it open before closing it once he was on the other side with the same amount of force. By making his way down the hallway anyone who stood in his way was thrown aside, literally and when he arrived at Vivian's destination he nearly bust the door down.

"Vivian's here. Don't fucking send anyone to my room to find him or they'll be returned as a human pretzel." The class visibly cringed, including the teacher. It was something Kahma would do without even giving a second thought. His cruelness could go beyond human comprehension of cruelty sometimes. It was fairly frightening.

Vivian went tense all over as he was yanked through the air. He didn't struggle at first, just let Kahma drag him along. Once he got over the initial shock of it though, he began testing to see just how far he could move. If this was going to happen often, he wanted to see if he could overcome it. He didn't know much about magic but it it was all mind over matter then maybe he could exert his will over the spell and break free. It was risky, he knew that. Any number of things could go wrong, such at the Reaper noticing and bending his bones until he looked like a tightly bound ball of yarn. If Kahma even looked at him sideways, he'd stop for a while before starting up again.

'My class is in Wing 6, room 113,' he said quietly, in case Kahma didn't know where they were going. He was sure Kahma would be furious if they went to the wrong room just to have to go to another.

When they got to the room where Vivian had Society and Law, Vivian stopped struggling and waited to be set down. He kept his head held high as the teacher and students looked at him but his eyes were looking at his hands.

'I'm afraid he's not coming to this class today,' the teacher announced nervously. He stood up straight at his desk and looked over his class. Yes, he was afraid but he wasn't going to cower and tremble before a hall monitor. 'He's caused too much trouble today already. He's to be sent to the shock therapy ward to-'

'Please! No!' Vivian cried out. He thrashed out with arms and legs, trying to get away. Anything but that! 'Please! I beg of you, don't send me there! Please!'

'Silence!' snapped the teacher. The students drew back and kept their eyes on their notes. 'Kahma, you're to take that boy to the shock therapy ward and bring him back when they've finished with him.'

'Please, I'll behave! I won't cause any more trouble!' Vivian begged, half in a panic already. He'd been there numerous times before for therapies that were supposed to make a person more docile, cooperative and at peace. In theory, the therapy worked but the doctors here set the machines too high and it fried the student until they were completely numb. Depending on how long they endured the shocks, the subject could be a walking vegetable for three or four days.

'How are you to learn if you're let off lightly?' the teacher asked, before turning back to Kahma. He sighed and braced himself for what he had to say next. 'Kahma, I know you're new to being a keeper but you should know it's your job to keep your ward in line. That means you take them to class as soon as you're finished with them. We can't have students unaccounted for, especially this one.'

Kahma's entire demeanor seemed to be less tense when the teacher began talking. It was almost as if his mood had lightened but everyone knew that if the Reaper lost composure all hell would break loose. He didn't take orders from anyone except Eun-Jung and that was cutting it close because she at times could be a major bitch. Even still he liked her for what she was worth. He could use her and that was another reason he kept her around.

The teacher running his mouth to him now was expendable, his existence was fickle. However, Kahma let the man run his mouth and even allowed his ward to cry out in fear but this did not phase him. Well not his outward appearance. Kahma looked over his fingers, stretching them out and bending his arm forward then backwards and twice more to make sure his limbs were loose enough for action. When the man finally shut up Kahma brought up his left hand, and then followed his right which was lower than his left. Two separate focuses of the same magic traveled out each appendage. The students would all find their heads lifting from their papers by force so they could look at their teacher who was very slowly being lifted off the ground.

"So yeah I'm new to being a Keeper and since I am a Keeper- I get to do my job however I feel like it and people like you-" Kahma made a violent gesture with his left hand, making a snapping motion and a loud noise quickly followed. "have no say in what I do or how I do my job. No one ever has and no one ever will. That's just how the teacher," he let his left hand fall back to his side, the teacher crumpling to the ground. "crumbles."

After letting everyone settle down- as much as they were able to at least with a corpse in the front of the room Kahma walked up to the board and turned to everyone. "I'll tell Ms. Head honcho that you all need a new teacher. Until then you all should work quietly. I'll be back soon." Kahma stepped on the corpse on his way out the classroom and the door was slammed shut behind him. The Reaper was in a foul mood.

It seemed Kahma didn't notice that Vivian was trying to break the spell placed up on him - either that or it simply wasn't working. That wasn't going to stop the asvang from trying though. If he stopped trying, he'd never succeed. He was never one to give up, even when things looked dreadful. He just had to be subtle about things. Vivian liked it best when nobody paid him any attention. Only then could he relax and do as he pleased, at least to a certain extent.

As the students all lifted their heads in unison, Vivian was dropped unceremoniously to the ground. The asvang braced himself then landed on his hands and knees. he stayed there for a few moments to see if anyone noticed him but they were all too busy with Kahma and the teacher. Vivian got up and silently walked over to a desk over the far side of the room and sat down quietly. Maybe with all the commotion, he would be forgotten about and he wouldn't have to go to shock therapy or even the psychiatrist.

Vivian looked up when he got to his desk, then looked straight down at his hands. It didn't help, really. If anything, it only drew attention to the fact he was not currently under the Reaper's influence. Even if he couldn't see the teacher, he could hear and smell him. The man didn't even have a chance to scream. He just snapped and crumpled to the floor like a piece of paper. Vivian could hear the air escaping his lungs and the moment his heart stopped beating. That was it then. The Reaper had murdered a teacher. Even though the man had just ordered him tot he shock therapy rooms, Vivian felt sorry for the man and his family. Who would tell them? Would they be told? If the rumours about the Reaper were true, it was likely the man would just wipe the mind of everyone involved and go on like nothing had happened. There was still a body to dispose of though and Vivian doubted even the Reaper had thought that far ahead.

Nobody spoke as the Reaper approached the front of the class and nobody looked directly at him, Vivian included. Normally there would be two security guards to each class but the ones for this class were currently searching for Vivian. That meant They'd be left with no supervision until either the Reaper or security returned. As tempting as it was, Vivian resisted the urge to try to escape. The campus was no doubt crawling with security like an anthill that had had a rock thrown at it. It was probably best to just stay put and avoid any more trouble for one day.

As expected the conversation with the headmaster became a bit sour yet Kahma didn't wish to influence her with magic or even attempt anything else. Even if her mind was able to be wiped because she lacked the mental fortitude, she was still physically strong- despite not looking it. If they were to go for a power match they'd either be even or she'd break his wrists. Even with the same level of strength if one gave out for even a second they'd be hurt. In order to avoid that entirely they'd both have to agree to call it a draw and withdraw all of their strength simultaneously.

"You do realize that this will require a punishment correct? You cannot just go about doing as you please. That's not how it works here. I'm sure you're very aware of that." The woman scorned with a devilish glare. Kahma shuddered and nodded slowly.

"Yeah I'm aware. The guy was so damn annoying though. He wouldn't shut up and let me do MY job. I'm a Keeper and since I have more authority given to me by you I shouldn't be bossed around by anyone but my boss right? So no one should ever tell me what to do with my Ward right?!" His voice had risen in volume due to his aggravation from the events coming back into his mind.

"That is correct, however there are more simple ways to correct those who talk down upon you. I've taught you every single way. There is no excuse Kahma." The man was almost literally pouting in the woman's presence. Kahma did have a problem with controlling his anger...and his powers. He would at times act on impulse...sometimes instinct and kill someone but it was rare. However, it had been occurring frequently for quite some time.

"Your punishment will be dealt with tonight. You are to go collect your Ward and subject him to some sort of punishment for being late to class. If not shock therapy then something else. Use your influence on the students and I'll take the reigns from there."

Kahma sighed but nodded with a "Yes ma'am."

On his way back he eyed students who were passing by. They all would walk straight and avoid all eye contact. This was normal. Something he was very used to and it didn't mean much to him except...what would it be like for people to be charmed by his presence. It was the little things that he always wondered about. What if this were a regular academy. Where prestigious students attended and all were lively?

"Pfft what a joke? Where would a Reaper fit in with that kind of enviroment?" Kahma chuckled the rest of the way down to his Ward's class. The security guards were returning as well. He gave a single wave to grab their attention. His lips pulled into a smirk. "I just got back from the headmaster's office. Vivian is currently inside the classroom but I was told to pull him for the rest of the day so there's no need to look for him any longer."

He turned towards the door with a grin. "Don't enter the classroom until I exit." They weren't given a chance to respond as he entered and shut the door behind him. The students didn't look up from their desk already knowing that Kahma was here. They could feel him. It was said that when he was in a mood you could feel him from a mile away. Some say he didn't even need to be in a particularly foul mood but when he was...it was hell for anyone nearby.

They claimed he gained an aura around him but Kahma could never see it himself so he called it bullshit. It seemed like a perfect name for the made up thing he couldn't see. He turned to Vivian and began to speak. "Vivian you are to be subjected to some form of punishment. You are to come with me. The rest of you...your new teacher will be arriving soon and of course I have a gift for you lot...Vivian if you will wait outside. Don't try to run...security is right outside the door."

Nobody spoke to Vivian the whole time the Reaper was away. There were lots of furtive glances and after a while people began to whisper. They wanted to know what Vivian was in for and why the Reaper wanted him. It was already rumoured that the Reaper was now his keeper but how could that be? The Reaper was a hall monitor, not a keeper. Was he now doing both jobs? A few of the rougher students snickered, thinking aloud what it would be like to have the Reaper as a keeper. They couldn't wait to see the state Vivian would be in the next day. He already had a bruised eyebrow and a split lip. Just how many injuries would he have the next day? Would he even be able to walk and talk?

'Where was he?' asked one of the security guards. 'He's been gone all morning.'

The whole class went silent again even before the Reaper entered the room. It was as if they knew he was coming. Vivian especially could hear everything he was saying to the guards, every step he made and even the rate of his breathing. Kahma seemed to have calmed down from what Vivian could hear but he would know more when he was close enough to catch the man's scent.

Vivian left silently when sent outside and moved to stand beside the door. He was glad to be out of that room. No doubt the Reaper would be wiping everyone's mind but how would he get rid of the teacher's body? Vivian decided he didn't want to know. He should just be greatful the Reaper wasn't touching his mind. He leaned back against the wall and looked over at the security guards with a warm, if nervous, smile. They didn't smile back, just stared at him like he wasn't even worth looking at.

'Where are your shoes?' one of them asked.

'I didn't have a chance to get them on our way out,' he sad, then gave a short laugh. 'I don't think it wise to pester Kahma in returning for them.'

'Idiot,' the man muttered. 'So you were with the Reaper all morning?'

'No. He picked me up from Ms Eun-Jung's office,' Vivian explained calmly, as if nothing was wrong and this were merely a friendly conversation.

'Where were you before that?' the security guard asked.

Vivian sighed. Nobody trusted him here. Then again, did they trust anybody?

'Well?' the security guard asked.

'I was being held down in my dorm while another student beat me,' Vivian replied.

'I suppose it was your fault then. What did you do to him?' the security guard asked.

'I,' Vivian paused. 'He was having night terrors so I woke him up. He fell back asleep then woke in a foul mood this morning,' Vivian explained.

'Idiot. You should mind your own business.'

Vivian said nothing. There was no point arguing over the morals and ramifications of waking someone up from a nightmare. If it happened again, he'd likely still do the same thing.

As the minds of the students were reconstructed just without the memories of events from the beginning of class to now, Kahma walked to the front of the room. It would take the students a moment to come back from being, in a sense, unconscious. The teacher's body was placed into...digital storage...it was the quickest, most efficient way to move the body from place to place. It was also because most of Kahma's methods of disposal caused a smell and even if he could wipe away the smell, it would linger and the students would pick up on it.

As one student came back from their magic induced sleep it became like a domino effect. One after another gained the luster back in their eyes and stared at Kahma, all with confused looks. Some students who had a stronger fortitude would have headaches from noticing their slight lack in remembering the last 20-30 minutes. Kahma had nothing to worry about however, his training in the arts of mind magic were about as high as they would ever get.

"Hello...your teacher was replaced due to a...obstruct of conduct. Your new teacher will be on their way soon. I expect you all to behave for; if I am called down to handle anyone in this class- I will be using twice as much force. Have a wonderful day." Kahma's tone was unmistakably dry, possibly even seething with annoyance. It was hard to tell but as he made his way down the aisle in between the desks an aura would appear to the students. The Reaper had suddenly fallen into a foul mood. Another way to tell was when he slammed the door. The man didn't even give the Security guards the time of day. He simply grabbed Vivan by his arm and began walking at a fast pace.

"You know- being a keeper is a bunch of shit. I shouldn't be limited to what I'm allowed to do just because I'm a keeper! If I didn't kill that bastard he would have sent you to fucking shock therapy. I should be in charge of all pain directed towards you." Kahma abruptly stopped and turned to Vivian rather quickly, expression intense...impassioned with hate. IF ANYONE IT SHOULD BE ME TO SET YOU STRAIGHT."

His hateful gaze was directed towards Vivian yet the hate itself was not against Vivian or anyone else...but himself. Wanting to be stronger than anything and have a say no matter what was all he wanted. It was what he strived for all those years ago- when he was still a loser. A lanky, weakling with no chance of survival. Maybe it was because he could somewhat see himself in Vivian's eyes. It wasn't potent but there was that slight reminder from how he was treated.

It was like history was trying to repeat itself. As soon as that thought hit Kahma's mind, he let Vivian's arm go rather quickly- eyes darting to the wall opposite to Vivian. That struck cords within him like a harpsichord. His eyebrows furrowed, hands balling into fists- to the point where his nails were digging into his skin. His teeth were grit but he soon seemed to calm down to a semi-neutral state. Anger was still ever so present but he was cooling himself off as much as he could.

"Come on. Keep up if you don't want to piss me off." Kahma growled out. For a moment he could feel the pain in the scars on his face. The memories along with those scars were trying to re-enter his mind in bits and pieces but still he blocked them.

Somewhere there lied unsaid words. Kahma would never say them but his words of anger were justified.

things that belonged to Kahma should only be touched by Kahma. Only he should carve holes in his objects, only he should twist them and break them. That was to be under his jurisdiction. What was wrong with spilling some blood over things that belonged to him? It was a matter of principal. Don't touch what doesn't belong to you...right?

The guards didn't speak to Vivian after their initial conversation. There was nothing else to be said. They had the information they needed. Vivian was quite content to mind his own business. Even a few moments of peace was nice. He raised his head and looked around the hallway before giving a bit of a stretch. At that point he startled a bit because he felt a hand on his shoulder. He hadn't even been paying attention!

'I hope you're not thinking of running anywhere,' the second guard warned.

'Why would you think that?' Vivian asked, sounding puzzled.

'You're getting ready to bolt, aren't you?' he asked in a threatening tone.

Vivian shook his head and rested back against the wall. It would be foolish to run with two security guards after him. Even if he was fast, it still wasn't much of a head start. He just closed his eyes and tried to look as innocent as possible. He could hear what was going on inside the classroom and wasn't sure he agreed with it. Maybe one day he'd be in a position to do something about it but for now he was trapped by circumstance. Even talking about the Reaper was likely to get his mind invaded and altered. One thing for sure was that Vivian would do almost anything to keep the Reaper out of his head. That meant he had to protect himself and play it safe.

The asvang jumped as the door slammed beside him. He'd heard the Reaper's footsteps but the sharp noise still startled him, mostly because it warned him what sort of mood the Reaper was in. He certainly did not want to be around the man for long, if he could help it. Whatever punishment he received, he hoped it was quick so he could get back to class and put all this unpleasantness behind him.

'Don't touch me!' Vivian said sharply, yanking his arm out of the Reaper's grip.

Vivian would follow but he would not be touched. He kept a respectful distance, as he did every time he followed someone - not wandering too far behind and not treading on their heels either. Though he had pulled away, he continued to follow behind the Reaper without saying anything. He was a quiet person at the best of times and tended to keep to himself. Asvang were naturally affectionate and physical beings who were always resting their hands on one another, kissing or touching in some way or another. He was considered abnormal because he was an asvang who did not like touch. It was almost as if he was perverted or rude because he found it uncomfortable. There were very few people he felt comfortable enough to allow them to grab hold of him and the Reaper wasn't one of them.

Pale, blue eyes darted to the side as the Reaper spun around and shouted at him. He could smell the loathing coming from him and could only assume it was directed at him. Vivian averted his eyes but kept his head facing Kahma to show he was paying attention. He didn't back away, thought his body was tensed and ready to bolt.

'Forgive me, Sir,' he breathed out, mostly because he wasn't sure what he'd done to anger the Reaper this time. He sucked on his lower lip and braved a glance into the man's eyes, making eye contact for just a moment. 'What are you going to do with me, Sir?'

Something changed in the Reaper. There was a change in his demeanour and his scent, though Vivian did not know what had caused it. He had no idea what the Reaper could possibly be thinking. When Kahma averted his eyes, Vivian turned his head and glanced in that direction. He couldn't hear anything coming from the other wall, so the Reaper must be thinking about something else. Vivian didn't know what to say or do so he just took a step back and waited for Kahma to act. With the Reaper acting in such a strange way, Vivian felt the urge to raise his arms ready top protect himself. He drummed his fingers against the sides of his legs and wrinkled his toes in his socks while he waited for the Reaper to do... anything.

"Come on. Keep up if you don't want to piss me off," Kahma growled out.

'Yes, Sir,' Vivian replied, falling into step behind the other man. The student was as silent as the grave as the two of them walked, especially in socks rather than shoes. He didn't know what was going to happen to him but he didn't want to make it worse. Who knew how far the Reaper would go when punishing a student? He'd just murdered a teacher, someone far less expendable than a detentional academy student.

Kahma didn't answer Vivan as he started moving his feet again. He didn't need to answer either, they'd be there soon enough. Kahma descended the stairs that led to what looked like a void of blackness from afar but as one descended there would be candles lit with red flames flickering once you really got deep in. "Keep up. We're almost there." As Kahma passed each individual flame the dancing flames would sporadically move about as their color shifted to flames of a deep purple. Kahma wasn't looking himself but he was semi-aware of the change.

It wasn't something that happened often when he came down to the depths of the pit but when it did there was a pattern to follow. One he hadn't picked up on yet. Whatever caused their shift in color had something to do with him, and him exclusively. That was currently all he knew, as of now though it was just a thought placed in the back of his mind. As he got off the last step, his shoe touched the cold surface of the stone ground. Black stone ground and a dark yet candle lit hallway lying up ahead. Kahma went off in the only direction given and when he reached the end of the hallway he suddenly turned and began down another hallway before he stopped at a door.

He merely lifted his hand and the door came open. It wasn't laziness it was just the lack of wanting to physically touch it. "In here," he ordered and waited for Vivian to get inside so they could begin. When Vivian did or if he didn't- Kahma would make sure he found his way in before shutting the door no matter what.

It was a fairly big room and there was even a second part of it off to the upper left corner. It was much brighter in the room than it was in the hallway and within it was an Axe wedged into a log, a wooden chair with metal straps to strap students down, and a head and hand prison or cage of some sort.

Kahma lifted the lock from the wooden prison and motioned for Vivian to get in it. "Let's get this over with."

When told to keep up, Vivian nodded silently. He was already close behind the Reaper so any closer would have him treading on the man's heels. He hadn't been to this part of the academy before and he was curious. His eyes began to move this way and that as he listened to the sounds of the building. It seemed to be deserted. There were no other voices or hearts beating anywhere nearby and there were no windows for the wind to whistle through. There wasn't even a breeze for him to hear as it moved past objects.

The hall had an eerie red glow to it and when Vivian looked around, he saw little red blobs of light flickering along the walls. He squinted at them to get a better look but it really was useless. While squinting, he noticed the one he was looking at turned purple. At first he thought it was on account of his poor eyesight so he went up to take a better look. Standing less than afoot from the candle, he still squinted and stared at its purple flame. How curious. He didn't know what was causing it so he settled down to the assumption that the candles had chemicals in them to change the colour of the flame. What else could it be? he wondered. Kahma didn't seem to notice or care that the candles changed colour as he passed them so maybe he already knew about them. It didn't seem anything to be alarmed about but Vivian was curious, though not foolish enough to ask the Reaper aloud just yet.

Seeing that he was lagging behind, he hurried up and fell back into step behind the Reaper. The next hallway was much darker and Vivian couldn't see a thing! The only frame of reference he had was the sounds coming from the Reaper: footsteps, breathing, heartbeat. It was an uncomfortable feeling and made him think back to other times he'd been locked in the dark. That dark had been totally black with no light and the reminder filled him with dread. The Reaper wasn't taking him to one of those places, was he? He wouldn't! It would mean he'd spend too much time away from class, three days at the least! Even if he does send me there, the ghasts won't notice me at first. They won't know I can see them unless I respond to them, he reassured himself. It could be weeks before the ghasts attacked him.

'I wonder what sort of ghasts they have here,' he murmured aloud.

To be honest, Vivian was relieved to come into a room with more light. He gladly left the dark of the hallway and even smiled as he looked around for the light sources. That was when he caught a whiff of the room. It made him freeze. He just stood there slowly breathing in hints of what the room had been used for before. The room had been cleaned, there was the scent of steriliser in the air, but nothing could trick an asvang's nose. There had been fear in this room, pain and blood. He didn't need to see the chair, the stocks or the axe to know this was a place of torture. He reached out and traced his fingers along the top of the stocks, testing to see if there was any dust. He hadn't been locked in stocks before but he had been locked in place over a metal table or in a chair like the one over further.

'Sir, forgive me but what do you intend to do?' the student asked.

Vivian took a step back towards the door and his breathing got a little heavier. What exactly was the Reaper going to do to him that would take the rest of the day? Vivian was one loud noise away from bolting back through the hallway they'd come through, if he could get the door open. He was starting to wonder if maybe shock therapy would have been the easier option.

Kahma felt his eye twitch. What an inquisitive one. Kahma pinched his nose, turning off his senses so he couldn't smell anything. This little trick had become majorly useful in his time around the academies. His different colored eyes focused on Vivian for a good moment- until it was finally time for him to turn his head back to the pale boy. "You ask a lot of questions. It's really annoying but one way or another what I'm going to do is going to happen. If you struggle it'll be worse for you. These kinds of punishments require extra help for attempted escapees." Kahma would not dive into the details but there were a few elements that came into play here.

"I was given files on you. You're an asvang or whatever right? You're different from the rest of us yeah? You don't even have to answer. I know the answer to that question. You've got this innocent look about you but believe it or not I'm not only called the Reaper for keeping students in line with the most brutal of means- I also handle liars. You see this is something you don't know about me."

Kahma put his hands up, curling his fingers and began rotating his left hand as if cranking some sort of round lever and upon each rotation Vivian would come closer and closer due to magical means. "I can smell a liar. Students are sent to death every day by lying to me. It can't be masked no matter how good of a liar you are. Even a magical facade will be broken down before me. Those students you see one day and don't see the next- they might not be alive anymore. A number of things can happen right under that little nose of yours that you probably don't even know."

Kahma began turning Vivian in mid air so he would fit in the wooden stocks. "I am not obligated to tell you anything but I'll tell you this- the more you lie, the more you get punished. You can't feign innocence. Perhaps what brought me to be your keeper was an innocent act on your account but anything after or before that can't be accounted for. So we're going to have a bit of fun. I know how much you like to be touched."

Kahma clamped down a visible, glowing purple secure hatch around both of Vivan's thighs, he placed his fingers together before prying them apart, the large purple weighted magic around both of Vivian's thighs spreading his legs. The magic to Kahma was like fluid water, his hand would go right through it, ripples forming as his hand slipped through it. He pulled at Vivian's gray pants and began to tug them down. "Come on- react. I want to see you struggle."

'Who wouldn't want to escape a place like this?' Vivian asked pointedly. He clenched his hands and tensed as Kahma looked at him. He didn't take a step back but the urge was there.

Vivian's file was rather full. It started with his original application, written by his mother, Devoia le Sinua, and his step-father, Hector le Sinua. They claimed he was a sneak, untrustworthy, a liar, a thief and was always running away from home. He'd been charged and punished for stealing jewels from wealthy hosts or squirreling away trophies in hole under his bed. He could not be trusted. He had a perverse nature about him. He was too quiet, too distant and always getting into trouble. He was always pestering his extended family, though they wanted nothing to do with him. If something wasn't done about him, he would end up in prison for sure. Sending him to the detentional academy was for his own good. Devoia played the part of a loving mother at wits end but in all honesty she was glad to get rid of him. He wasn't in her sights but he was still controlled and repressed.

The file then went on to describe what an asvang was, their abilities and their inabilities. This included a photograph of him in original form with his wings outspread, so they would know in advance that he could shapeshift and fly away.

Next, the file contained many of the "incidents" he'd been in since attending the academy. The academy was very strict, even on things such as flirting. He had been caught flirting and even kissing a girl from Mabeob and so was now not allowed in the same meal sittings with her. He seemed to get into a fight or brawl every month or so and been involved in many disturbances during meal times. He'd been caught in the corridors alone with no escort, he'd been tied up in bed after first period and had been found unconscious in the trough of the urinal several times too. There were also numerous times where he'd been caught without clothes on in various states of arousal or had been caught having sex with other male students. He always claimed he had not wanted it but the other students always claimed it was consensual. Who was Eun-jung to believe? There were also cases where other students' belongings had turned up in his trunk with him claiming to know nothing about it. Not to mention all the times he'd broken out and the four times he'd made it past the perimeter fence.

'I'm not that different, Sir. I still feel pain, I still bleed and I still breathe the same air,' he said quietly. He hoped the file didn't say too much about his nature, though most people at Goryeo National Detentional Academy knew he drank blood. He didn't like being compared to a vampire because he was in no way like one. They were undead creatures controlled by their lusts and desires for pain, blood and death. He, on the other hand, was a living creature like any other. He had his strengths and he had his weaknesses too.

It was obvious the Reaper was trying to scare him and it was working too. He didn't want to know what happened to those the Reaper punished. Vivian was helpless as he was drawn back towards the Reaper, still having no idea what was about to happen to him. He strained against it, hoping once again it would give him practise in breaking the spell cast upon him. His feet moved but he could not pull away. He kept trying though. He wouldn't stop. As he got closer, he took in a deep breath and turned his head away form the Reaper. He didn't like being this close to him, or anyone for that matter. He spread his legs wide and tried to brace his feet into the floor but the magic was too strong.

Vivian's feet left the ground and he felt himself being bent over. That in itself made him slightly queasy in the stomach. Bending over was never a good thing, whether it was for a whipping or something more sexual. He tried to resist but ended up just letting out a groan of helplessness. He hung his head as it was placed in the stocks and his long, blonde hair draped down the side of his face. When he heard what the Reaper said next, panic started to set in.

'No!' he cried out, yanking at his wrists and neck to try to get away. 'Don't touch me! Stay away!'

The asvang flinched as he felt something strange touch his thighs. It was cool and fluid though solid at the same time. He tried to force his legs shut. He clenched his teeth and shook his head slightly as panic really started to set in. He was going to be raped! He was going to be raped by Karma the Reaper!

'Please, I don't like being touched. I'm not gay!' he begged, his chest rising and falling as panic set in. 'Please, you don't have to do this!'

The red Wiheomhan uniform was very loose on Vivian. It was too big because he needed it for the length, otherwise the pants and sleeves would be too short. He was wearing the uniform button-up red shirt and long, grey pants with white socks, white jocks, white gloves, a blue bow set low in his hair and a red neckerchief around his neck. The clothing slipped off him easily, revealing his pale, milky thighs and white jocks. His skin was so smooth and cool, like marble or porcelain. He'd filled out too since coming to Goryeo. He had regular meals and exercise, even if the quality of the meals was not worth talking about. He was still narrowly built but he had a tight arse and there was muscle to his thighs. There was a wiry strength to him underneath those loose clothes, which only functioned to make him look skinny and scrawny.

'Please, don't touch me,' he begged in an almost breathless voice. He was now terrified of what the Reaper intended to do with him. He'd had this many times before. He hated the way his sensitive body responded and the loss of control he felt over his own body. It was sickening, disgusting and uncomfortable.

Kahma ran his hand down Vivian's thigh, all the while his facial expression didn't change. "You've got a very nice build. You asvang are very precious looking either way though huh?" Kahma began to chuckle. "It makes me sick to my stomach," he bit out with a heavy glare, his hand gripping the still covered area of Vivian's arse.

He let his hand glide up the button up red shirt, feeling over every inch of skin he could before retracting his hand to let it slap onto the round flesh of Vivian's ass once more.

He began kneading Vivian's ass cheeks through his under pants. "I'm going to ask you a few questions. You only get 3 lives. If you lose your lives...it's game over. Ready to play?" Kahma chuckled with maniacal laughter, not really giving Vivian the chance to respond to him properly. "Of course you are!" Kahma wasn't too harsh with his groping and kneading but the firmness in his touches was present. "By now you should already know but I think we should just test you to make sure. Who do you belong to?" Kahma leaned down, lifting Vivian's shirt up to his mid back to reveal some of his flesh. He let his breath ghost across the skin as he awaited an answer.

"If it makes you feel better...you don't have a time limit. We can be here all day if you like but if I feel bored it will be an automatic Game Over. The choice is yours...for the most part." Kahma's mismatched eyes darkened ever so slightly. Something that happened when he had or was committing what his magic considered to be an evil deed. His lips were pulled into a big smirk and he had a devilish look on his face. As if he was about to dive right into a 5 star meal placed before him. However, Kahma wasn't initially into those things. For the most part he was Asexual and he never truly had sexual desires but he didn't feel like using anything more for a simple punishment. Especially since the whole shock therapy thing had pissed him off so much.

This was probably more severe mentally but less severe in a sense of physical ability. Shock therapy could really screw a person up. It was why even Kahma had a screw loose somewhere but still to this day- no one was aware of his true backstory or how he came to be...and he preferred it that way.

Vivian instinctively pulled away when Kahma touched his thigh. He didn't feel flattered at all by the compliment, not in a situation like this when he was being touched up. He wasn't attracted to Kahma at all and the feeling of another man touching his thighs was too intimate for his liking. He brought his legs up then kicked back with both feet, trying to get Kahma off him. He didn't necessarily want to harm the Reaper, just knock him as far back as possible. Despite the situation, however, he gave a short laugh at being called precious. He felt the urge to say something sarcastic but decided now wasn't the right time to challenge Kahma.

Tight arse cheeks tensed harder and Vivian curled his hips forward under him to try to get away from Kahma's hands. He swallowed hard and panted through his nose a few times. Already he could smell a slight hint of sweat about his body. It was round and full bodied with a hint of exotic spice. Asvang only sweat when they were nervous, aroused or stressed. It was part of the fight, flight or freeze response rather than a cooling mechanism. If he could smell himself, even just ab bit, that was a bad sign.

A loud groan escaped Vivian and he hung his head slightly when he heard of the game they were going to play. He didn't want to know what "game over" meant. He bit on his lower lip and sucked it in as Kahma asked who he belonged to. He wasn't sure how to answer that. He knew the answer Kahma wanted but Vivian wasn't going to say it.

'Nobody owns me,' Vivian ended up saying. It was a blatant lie. He knew his mother owned him in more ways than one but he wasn't about to say that out loud. It would demand all sorts of questions that he wasn't willing to answer and would put his family in jeopardy. If he did end up saying something along those lines though, he would simply explain that all mothers owned their children to some extent. He was past the age where he was considered to be under his mother's wing, which was why he'd been sent to the detentional academy as soon as he'd reached 17.

Vivian's back was as smooth and unmarked as the rest of him. There wasn't a single mole, a single imperfection or scar to be seen. The only marks on him currently were his bruised eyebrow and split upper lip. His lower back wasn't very strong but there was a lot of muscle behind his shoulders.

'I,' Vivian began, then swallowed saliva. 'I think I'd prefer to get this over with. What's your next question?'

"I would have accepted the truth and another half-truth but," Kahma pinched his nose for a moment and the pinched it once more. "You're lying so that's one life gone." He ran his hands up Vivian's sides, eyes disinterested in what he was doing but he still made the motions. "Making things worse for yourself seems to be something you're good at...but I'll continue for what it's worth." Kahma moved one hand from under Vivian's shirt and pressed lightly at the back of his neck. It was tender flesh...at least according to the sensation receptors of his fingers. When Vivian kicked out at Kahma he simply shook his head and added more solid-liquid magic to his feet to keep him still. "Struggling is useless but do continue."

"Are you into this sort of thing? Not sure if my nose was playing tricks on me but you smelled a little...happy. Or maybe it's because I tuned out on smell for too long." Kahma shrugged and made sure he was right between Vivian's legs, his own legs and hips phasing through the liquid-solid magic holding Vivian's legs apart. Without a mark in sight on Vivian's back he had to give him something. He bent down so his lips were merely ghosting over the flesh of Vivian's back. His lips parted and he bared his teeth, sinking his teeth lightly into the flesh. He pulled away quickly and wiped away any blood that may have gotten on his lips. Now the perfection...was imperfect.

"This mark looks good on you. Maybe I should give you more improvements huh?" Mismatched eyes darkened once more, another bad deed. He himself could never tell when this happened since he couldn't feel or see the change. However there was a change that occurred physically. His mindset changed, he was less forgiving and he was much harsher. It was like there was a meter to all the bad deeds he did and it would have to be balanced out by him doing something good to return him back to a neutral state. The strange thing was- being in a neutral state was more rare than him being in a unforgiving one. It was usually his unforgiving state that he was in when he was on a stroll for holl monitoring. He could never tell himself that his demeanor changed. Only very very few did.

"I'm sure you like this." Kahma was cackling at this point, his chuckling more sinister to the point it could only be described as cackling.
