Aww nobody seriously, well I'm here at least \(^-^)/

I must admit it's been a long time since I've read yuri/shoujo-ai manga but it's refreshing!

Bumping this to say that I like yaoi and yuri as well. The dynamics of the pairings can be so different and yet so similar; it’s hard to describe without an essay lololol. There’s a Vietnamese comic (called Bad Luck. Here’s a link:

thank you! As I said before, it's been a while since I read yuri/shoujo-ai, so I'd be glad to give a try to your comic. The link doesn't seem to work though Σ(・□・;)

I must say I only remember two titles from all the things I've liked, probably not for nothing.

I did see one that I liked. It was about a badass serial killer on death row who was hired by some agency to take down other serial killers. I forget what it's called.

I haven't seen any slice of life ones but I'm not a fan of that genre. I've read one school life one though. Nothing happened. They just angsted over whether they like eachother. They were step-siblings if I remember correctly. What sort of yuri do you like?

Yes, well I guess most of the yuri made by women mangaka are more about the lovey-dovey plot than the sex scenes, that's what we women like (๑╹ω╹๑ ) though I don't mind the scenes (and sadly when it's male mangaka it's often the opposite, too much scenes for no plot, just ecchi).

Which ended up making this kind of memes lol

So I would say my perfect yuri would be a nice plot with sometimes nice scenes, not only a kiss on the lips, one on the tit and next case we're the day after lol. In the end, it'd be like a yaoi but with women.

I liked Vakyrie Drive (anime), since you seem to like breasts you may like it too.

Citrus is all I don't like: the cliché of 2 people interested in each other who suddenly live together. The first episode (I tried to watch the anime) was good and then they got in the same house for some totally unreal reasons (though "unreal reasons" do happen in anime, I guess my gauge was already at its limit). Still a lot of people liked it.

I did like Kannazuki no Miko apart of the weird ass mecha stuff. (It was my first yuri)

And citrus is something cliché but I enjoyed the character development.

Maybe yaoi mangka are made by women for women and still have sex scenes. I don't really see why yuri has a lack of it. I understand that yuri is more of a smaller niche than yaoi so there is less range and development. I'm a perv. I like sex long scenes with just enough plot to get a feel for the situation.

LOLOL at those images. That's a whole lot of plotting right there.

I agree. A couple of kisses and clothed breasts isn't enough for me. I can't handle too much lovey-dovey stuff. I like relationships and development but we're all adults, it's nice to see the whole picture.

Valkyrie Drive? I'll check it out now. Thank you.

Yes, yaoi manga are made so we can have the kind of fantasy we like without the problem of reality like seeing a guy fucking a girl, which isn't what most of women like (or at least used to like) to see, and being cut off (?) by the fact the dude of the manga likes a girl we don't ressemble and stuff. If the hero likes a dude, there's no more comparison and we even get to like his partner (΄◉◞౪◟◉`) perfect.

I suppose that's why yuri isn't the same, it's not made to fantasize, it's a love story between women. Though I suppose there must be yuri with good plot and nice scenes, hidden somewhere on the web.

By the way, tell me your recommandations for yaoi and yuri, if you have some. I might like it.

Ok, I will like it lol.

Btw, this is not yuri nor yaoi but from what I get, you might also like Triage X, even though I'm not into ecchi anime, I really liked this one (like Valkyrie, there's an uncensored version).

I had never thought about it that way. I find hetero ecchi a bit more crude. I also don't like how women are portrayed as pretty, cute, innocent and submissive. At least with yaoi there isn't sexist stereotypes (unless you get into omegaverse). There's more of an even playing field. I dunno. I just feel uncomfortable with the idea of a woman being the sub. I like femdom in hetero... I like drawn dicks, bubble butts and prostate stimulation. I wouldn't mind picturing myself as one of the men in yaoi but I'm more of a voyeur who enjoys watching them and their relationship from a third-person perspective.

Ya. I agree. I wish it was the case that there was more yuri made to fantacise over. There's no reason why their couldn't be, it's just cultural. I'll see if I can look up the one about the serial killer... It's called Murciélago.

I love the Kuroneko Kareshi series by Aya Sakyo. It has cat ears but both characters are relatively masculine, seme and independent. Even the uke is a seme who is used to taking in ukes. It does have dub-con/non-con though.

I might skip it, since it's hetero. I need to be in the mood for that. I've only just got back into hetero roleplaying.

Since I was studying Japanese in uni and the department chief was an otaku, he created a manga and anime optional course. He once spoke about the fact that yaoi was a way for women to avoid hentai and so the uke is supposed to represent us, women. At the moment, I thought it was stupid, but after resuming my fujoshi life some months ago, I must say I now understand what he meant.

I didn't know omegaverse until some months ago and I actually love it, because more than sexism, I see that as Nature reasserting itself in another world, it's so sexy :;(∩´﹏`∩);: not being able to control your body and stuff.

If I may tease you, even though I don't know much about omegaverse and maybe I didn't get it right, I think by saying it is a sexist stereotype, you actually say the law of Nature is sexist, which would mean women are submissive from the start. I'm so sorry for saying it (о´∀`о) don't take it seriously please.

(I do believe that's why feminism is bad btw, it makes women think they have to prove they are not the submissive bitches Nature created, which also mean they are the first to believe in it) I'm digging my own grave (*≧∀≦*) anyway, after reflecting a lot about it (ok and thanks to sociology stuff), obviously women are physically weaker than men, but it's also thanks to that weakness that we developed our brain more, like, you know, how women are often pulling the strings of the couple/family. This way there is a certain balance, though it's not everybody who "respect" that. Sorry for the off-subject, I wanted to show off a bit \(//∇//)\

Thanks for the manga (*´∀`)♪

Btw, if I talked about Triage X before, it's obviously because it's not your shitty ecchi anime with girl being there just to move their huge titties, it's an action anime and what I love is the fact that it's a normal action anime but with girls having big breasts you sometimes get to see naturally, not obviously forced. Sorry for insisting, I'll stop now(^人^)

In a deadly terrorist attack, Arashi Mikami narrowly escapes death but loses everything in the process, including his family and best friend. However, the surgeon that rescues him is far from just an ordinary doctor—he commands a strike team known as Black Label whose task is to exterminate deadly criminals who have fallen too far. Filled with a new determination, Arashi joins the ranks of the vigilante organization. (MyAnimeList)

I tried Kuroneko no Kareshi before but I noticed the reading order after starting it so I was lost, also I think some charas were similar so at some point I gave up lol. But I remember it was hot, I'll read it again then.

I wasn't even aware straight roleplay existed, nastyyy lol.

Woah. First of all, that is so cool! Yaoi is still sex, so I don't see why people would avoid hentai.

Yeah, not being able to control your body and going into heat is so fucking sexy. I don't mind omegaverse.

(Eeeeehhhhhh... That's a bit of a trigger right there. I see women and men as equal yet different. They have their positives and negatives but neither is superior or dominant to the other. Men use their superior strength to overpower women and control them but I do not believe women are naturally submissive. I think it's just our culture that places women into a less-than-equal role. I believe feminism is a good thing and that the sexes should have equal opportunities but a lot of women take it too far and are just as sexist as the male chauvinists they hate.)

Yeah, probably don't go quoting nature as a reason. Nature is too strange and too complex to say "women are submissive", "homosexuality is wrong" or anything like that.

What about Ten Count? That one has a nice relationship and plot with just a little smut. I also like the Tyrant Falls in Love and Crimson Spell. I'm afraid I never remember the names of the manga I read.

I don't read hentai or very very rarely, but I love yaoi. And if there was manga that are just like yaoi but with straight people, I think it would still be nastier than yaoi lol.

If it doesn't exist yet it could be interesting to do a poll to see if girls/boys who like yaoi also like hentai because that's very different.

Hentai is only to jerk off, it doesn't have much of a plot, doesn't involve true feelings and are mainly made by males and for males.

Yaoi can be the same but it's rarer, the plot is important and the relation between the two heroes too. The sex scenes are so different. It's also made by females for females.

Also if you compare Tokifuji gay porn comic

with yaoi, you see it has nothing in common lol.

I totally agree ヽ(´▽`)/ men and women complement each other, it's so simple some people just don't get it I guess.

I don't know Ten Counts, I'll take a look. I've heard of Crimson Spell, years ago it was famous in France, that's not what I usually like so I'll try. And Koi suru Bou-kun, the Tyrant falls in love is just one of my favorite manga! I'm actually reading it again because it's been years, so many butterflies in my stomach as I read it (●´ω`●) it's the only manga, or at least yaoi that ever made me feel that way!!

I thought yaoi was m/m hentai. Shounen-ai focuses more on the relationship. It's not even the only gay genre! There's also bara and another gay genre. I think it's called "gei komi". Why would yaoi for straight people be nastier?

I'll create a poll when I finish here.

I don't read straight stuff. I don't know why, I just don't find it attractive. I don't mind furry though.

Tokifuji? What's that?

True, they do complement one another. I don't think mother+father+children is the only way a family can be put together though. A family with two fathers or two mothers is no less a family. I think so long as two people complement each other, it doesn't matter what gender they are.

Ten Count is about a uke with mysophobia and a psychologist with a thing for people with mysophobia. The psychologist helps the mysophobic out. That's all I'm saying. Read it yourself. XD

Ya. ^.^ I read and watched the Tyrant Falls in Love recently after I saw the sex scene on a porn site. I really like where the brother tries to re-befriend the ex-lover and make amends then gets tied up and raped. I like how the brother keeps chasing the ex-lover down. I love drama.

I laughed at that. At least you remembered in the end. Also, I've noticed if one edits in a tag, the other person doesn't get the mention.

(finally I remembered)

Hentai is porn manga whose goal is to show sex. It's made by men for men.

Yaoi is gay manga with a plot and some light sex scenes, though some manga are hard. It's by women for women.

Shounen-ai is a manga where a gay relationship is implied, there's sometimes a kiss scene.

Bara is gay manga made my men for men which breaks off with yaoi's feminine art style, it's very manly and muscular.

Gei komi (gay comic) is Tokifuji's work and this kind.

Since I wanted to be sure I just checked and found an interesting

(in Japanese though).

The person who wrote the article says : "I am gay so obviously I read geikomi [...] Since it's a bit long I'm gonna divide them. There is BL with love at its core, and there is geikomi with sexual relations at its core.

Soft or Hard, BL is always related to sexual scenes with the so royal road of "since there is love". (but liking it when you're a man is ok!) [..] geikomi is for gay men. It holds straight sexual desire, in other words, it's porno. Romance and others are secondary." these are extracts but I think it shows how some gays see things. I'm scared to say most of the gays since there are gays here who like yaoi lol, but I remember in high I had a gay classmate and when I asked him if he liked yaoi, he told me he didn't like it much and was into bara hehe. (๑╹ω╹๑ )

Btw Tokifuji is the person who did the comic I linked, it's gay furry porn comic, to show you the gap with yaoi.

Ten counts seems funny, I'll tell you what I think about it (╹◡╹)

- sorry, I've been AFK

I would have to disagree with you on most points there.

Hentai is just pornographic manga or anime without regards to gender or sexuality.

Yaoi is gay manga and anime that is sexually explicit. It is very romanticised. It can be hard or soft. To say that it is made by women for women is a HUGE generalisation.

Shounen-ai is gay manga and anime that is implicit in nature. It focuses on the plot, has less relationship building and there's no smut.

Bara is hyper-masculine gay manga and anime. It is typically made by men for men.

Gei komi is gay manga and anime that is typically made for gay men by men. It is more realistic and less romanticised than yaoi. Gay men usually prefer gei komi to yaoi because they feel it's more realistic and doesn't fall for the same cliches.

I don't know where BL comes into it. It seems to be the umbrella that covers all the sub-genres. I have no idea there.
