Name: Chris Madder

Age: 22

Height: 5'4

Position: Uke, but open to switching time to time

Abilities: Boundary Manipulation - 'Rule breaking'. His current range isn't particularly large and he can't maintain it for long bursts of time, but he has a lot of capabilities within that range and plenty of stamina, which balances his shortcomings, and is still considered a high-leveled metahuman within his rank.

Personality: Chris is a very honest, straight-forward person, and tends to say what he's thinking without considering whether or not its appropriate, which has gotten him into trouble on more than one occasion. He's fiercely loyal, and will full-heartedly devote himself to virtually any task laid in front of him. Chris is also quite prideful, and has a hard time admitting when he's wrong or apologizing the greater scale his mistake was.

Biography: Chris Madder was the youngest of four, though his three older siblings were half-siblings. He'd always been the odd one out, being the only one who couldn't mourn over his mother's first husband, and being the only one who didn't have any kind of relation with him. As a kid, he was surprisingly quiet and withdrawn. He preferred reading to sports, and hesitated when others invited him to play. He's still a bit of an introvert, and likes quiet time away by himself. It was in his junior year when he realized the 'coincidences' were, in fact, something he had control over, relatively. He ended up transferring to a specialized school, as once he was tested the administration thought he could become dangerous if he didn't have proper control. Rather than disappointed, he was very excited and eager to start his new life with his new-found abilities, and others reacted well to his sunny personality, and it just grew louder and bolder and more energetic. He's currently a member of "X"- a specialized service with metahumans for hire. He mainly joined because the man he idolized worked there. He was randomly assigned him for a school paper about an influential metahuman, and he'd been hooked on him ever since. He retired before Chris ever had the chance to meet him, unfortunately.

This had to be the right place. He'd spent over a month of research and seeking out, and he had a gut feeling this was right. In fact, he technically wasn't supposed to be doing this. Finding this retiree was a suspended project after little results, so he was going against company policy. It was on his own time, though. And if he could bring him back, all the better!

Chris didn't expect that he would be living in a place like this. It was a rather small house, and quite secluded, surrounded by trees. He really didn't have any expectations at this point, though. But this had to be it. He had been hiding pretty well, and he obviously preferred isolation, but Christ knew this was the place. It was his last lead, it had to be…

Climbing up the stairs of the porch, he wondered why he'd have such a friendly porch all the way out here. He took a deep breath, a big smile, and knocked on the front door.

Name: Veilintine Michaelis

Age: 30

Height: 6'2"

Position: Seme

Abilities: Metal manipulation and intangibility

Biography: Veilintine (Val-in-teen) grew up in a small household, but even before his abilities began to manifest tended to be a loner. He excelled in school and did well in sports, however, he never tried out for a team despite his teachers pestering him constantly to do so. When his abilities began to show his parents became worried,

and at times afraid of, for him. At age seventeen he was approached by an organization and soon became enlisted in a secret group. He stayed enlisted for many years before retiring and opening his own small business and living in relative isolation.

"Thank you. I look forward to seeing you again tomorrow." He smiles slightly at an older woman who mock huffs at him. "You think you know me so well young man!" She scolds, or tries, before laughing and lightly patting the other's cheek. "I'll be sure to bring you dinner as well. You're much too skinny." With that the woman turns and leaves, the bell above the door jingling as the door closes.

With a soft sigh, he shakes his head smiling and goes to lock the door and flip the sign. Honestly, after all he's done and seen who would have ever thought he'd end up here? Veilintine laughs softly to himself while going about cleaning up his small books and antiquities shop and closing it down for the day. Once done he leaves out the back. Locking the door, he takes his deposit to the bank and then hops on his motorcycle to head home.

Taking in a slow deep breath, he holds it in for a moment before letting go. Yes. Is the only word that passes through his mind as he speeds down the roads and soon up the road leading to his home. When he sees someone at his door, however, his eyes narrow and he mentally prepares for a fight. Hitting the brakes, he shifts and side slides to a stop. All the while his eyes never leave the intruder. "You. Who are you and what do you want?"

Chris waited for a few minutes, his smile waning a little, and he was about to knock a second time when he heard the sound of a motorcycle drive up, and halt rather abruptly. He turned, a little startled, though he had an inkling that he knew who it'd be. His smile rapidly returned when he turned and saw that he was right. It was really him, Veilintine Michealis! It didn't bother him in the slightest that he didn't seem all too thrilled to have an unannounced visitor, and Chris bounced down the steps towards him.

It was really, really him... it was the real Veilintine! He looked just like all his pictures! It shouldn't be surprising, but it was kind of thrilling to see him in the flesh now. Chris was delighted that he could finally meet him in person now.

"My name is Chris Madder, I'm a member of the Fenrir Society." He told him proudly. He knew Veilintine had left of his own accord, so he wasn't entirely sure how he'd react to having a newer member of the organization come to visit, but Chris himself was incredibly excited to meet his idol.

"The Fenrir Society wants you to re-enlist, so they sent me to ask if you'd come back with me," He embellished the truth a little bit, since he thought that if he knew Chris wasn't supposed to be there, he might turn him down right off the bat.

Veilintine narrows his eyes at the little man approaching him. All the time he spent with the organization, plus his background, gave him a talent for sensing bullshit. This Chris Madder is setting off that sense loud and clear. "Bullshit. Even if it was true, my answer would still be no." As the stranger comes closer, his eyes narrow further. "And if you knew anything about me, you'd know that I don't like uninvited guests."

With barely more than a twitch of his fingers metal rises to wrap as spiked vines around Chris, one running lightly along the other's throat. "If there's one thing I despise it's ill mannered brats. Especially those who show up uninvited." His head tilts to the side as he studies the other. "I wonder what would happen if I contacted the Society and told them you were here and I wasn't happy with them sending you." He's pretty sure that this young kid came on his own without approval.

Revving his bike he drives it around and to the back to put it away in the garage while leaving his unwanted guest amongst his metal. If the Fenrir Society really did send a kid after him, they must have forgotten how he deals with surprise visitors. Though as of yet he hasn't been annoyed enough to kill him just yet. Locking up he goes to head into the house. It's been a long day and he's hungry.

Chris wasn't too concerned with Veilintine's serious expression, since he'd only seen him with one in pictures and the rare video clip, he just thought he was a serious person, and didn't interpret it as anything especially negative. His tone of voice, however, put Chris a little on edge. He figured that Veilintine probably wouldn't be jumping at the chance to rejoin the Society, but he wasn't expecting him to react so hostile to the suggestion. Before Chris could even say anything for his case, he was surrounded by metallic, spiked vines. One vine traced over his neck threateningly. He really didn't mess around. Chris would have thought it was kind of cool if it wasn't him who was in danger.

Ah, shit, he'd be busted for sure if Veilintine called the Society. He wouldn't just get off with a warning or demerit for this kind of thing, either. He didn't think he'd be dismissed for this kind of thing, but he might be suspended, or something along those lines… He wondered if Veilintine could tell that Chris was lying, and that he actually wasn't supposed to be here. He'd definitely believe his idol was that perceptive.Chris hadn't really known that he didn't like unannounced visitors, but maybe that was why Fenrir didn't want him to keep pursuing it without further orders. Too late to really regret it now, though.

"Hey-" He started to protest when the older man revved his motorcycle and rode away. Chris couldn't turn his head much to follow with his eyes. He sighed softly and wiggled awkwardly within his make-shift prison. Chris sighed, it seemed a little rude, somehow, but he really had little choice. He'd have to get himself out of this mess. It was a little difficult when he didn't have much room to move, which put him a little on edge. And the fact that it was the Veilintine Michealis who'd entrapped him made it all the more difficult to concentrate on actually being able to manipulate the situation. He took a deep breath, and closed his eyes. It took a few tries before he was able to get into the right mental state. He was glad he was alone, it'd be mortifying if Veilintine saw how much he was struggling out here with something that he should have no problem with.

He felt a 'sheet' cover himself and the few feet surrounding him, he could feel the vine at his throat weaken first, wobbling within the space it occupied. He pressed his arms against the spikes, and the had so much give they didn't prick him, and the base was 'loose' enough to push aside. It was still a bit hard to concentrate on keeping things as-is, since the mental barrier of his role model doing it made it seem like it ought to be permanent made it a strain to maintain his own manipulation. So he moved very carefully as he slipped himself out of the cage.

The sheet lifted once he was out, and he could feel the vines hardening again behind him. Chris looked behind him, Veilintine's structure looked untouched, and he smiled, satisfied. He wondered if the man was really inside calling the Fenrir Society or if that was a bluff. Either way, Chris wasn't going to give up on him that easily, and he headed right back up to the door, and knocked again, as if nothing had happened.

  • 4 weeks later...

Stretching, Veilintine sighs then kicks off his shoes and heads through the mud room to get to the kitchen. As he throws together a sandwich, he twitches slightly as his eyes narrow. He can feel his metal being moved by someone other than himself. "So, he can do spatial distortion or material manipulation of a sort. Seems like I'll have to call the old man after all and tell him to pick up his puppy." Unless the idiot got the hint and leaves on his own. Sighing, Veilintine accepts this is a slim possibility.

"At least it's taking him awhile to get out." He mutters to himself as he finishes making his dinner pads into the living room. The layout is a mix of modern design and steampunk. In short, however, almost every surface has some metal on it if it's not completely made of the material. This theme continues through most of the house, and even in areas that one would last expect there to be metal as Chris had discovered. Sitting down, he takes a bite of his sandwich. Chewing, he pulls out his phone and begins scrolling through the contacts.

Pushing a button, he selects a number and puts the phone up to his ear. As the line rings, he stands up as his sensors relay the pest's progress towards his door, instead of off the property as would have been wise. Chris knocks right as Veilintine reaches the door. When the line is picked up, without missing a beat he reaches through the door and grabs hold of Chris' shirt. "You had best retrieve your pet." He states then hangs up while yanking the other person forward to make them smack face first into the door before shoving him back.

After dealing with the unwanted pest at the door, he pulls his arm back and goes back to the momentarily abandoned sandwich. Hopefully the message was enough to get the old man to move his ass and retrieve the newbie before Veilintine gets more than slightly annoyed and shows his true home defense system. Part of the reason why he was never 'found' being due to the system killing those that didn't get the hint to stay away, and no bodies being found. The number few enough to where the old man seemed to have understood the warning and backed off, swearing to erase any and all traces of his location.

"Yet here we are again. Maybe this time I should allow the retrieval of a body to give a visual reminder that I left and want to be left alone." He muses absently while rubbing the edge of his eye patch. A sudden thought occurs to him, causing him to tilt his head slightly. "I should get a dog..."

After knocking on the door once, the second time his knuckles moved, they hit air as the door was opened suddenly. Chris could barely react when he was grabbed, it all happened so fast he didn't have time to be surprised or nervous before he grunted in pain. He was yanked forward and caught most of the force on the side of his brow-bone before he was shoved backwards. Chris fell back against the porch and looked up at Veilintine with a pout, but the man seemed to have already moved on. He frowned and rubbed his eyebrow, hoping it wouldn't bruise. He hit pretty hard, and it was right on bone, and maybe it was just him, but it seemed loud, too.

He then started to register what Veilintine was saying on the phone when he grabbed the front of his shirt. Retrieve his pet? He scowled when he stood, he was more upset over the fact that he was clearly calling one of the superiors at Fenrir than being insulted himself. He hadn't read the member guidebook and contract very carefully, but he was ninety-nine percent sure that corporal punishment was off the table since there were already a number of times he was sure someone was restraining themselves from beating the snot out of him, but if there would be an exception, he might have found it.

But… it wasn't fair, right? He was already the one with the least amount of information! He begged and begged for a week to just be part of the team to hunt him down, and he was still kind of regulated to, as Veilintine would put it- the team pet. So naturally he wasn't given much information about when the search was called off. He was afraid that they'd use the absence as an excuse to cut him off entirely, and if they failed to convinced Veilintine to come back, he'd never get to meet him! So he had to do it this way! He didn't regret his choice now, but he was getting close. Soon everyone involved would know Chris was out here without permission, potentially jeopardizing the whole mission. God, this could turn out really bad. If he couldn't make this work, they'd all blame him!

He found some level of restraint at the threat of having his body he used as a sort of example to the rest. It was medieval levels of messed up.

"Hey, uh… why do you still have the numbers to Fenrir?" He wasn't sure what else to say, and he was genuinely curious. He still had means to contact them even though he'd gone through such great lengths to keep them from getting into contact in return, that was pretty curious.
