PLOT

x/xx/xx

Everything was going according to plan, a whole new generation of soldiers were being raised in the depths of a hidden laboratory on the edge of the Human Zone. They will be perfect, they will be powerful yet obedient to the cause, and be free of that annoying emotion called 'love'. Sure there were a few mess ups here and there but they would be disposed of soon enough...

Funny, the humans are so ignorant to what's happening right under their noses.

-----

x/xx/xx

Damn...the entire population of the Neutral Zone had disappeared. That puts operation Judgment Day into danger of failing. The prisoners brought in a few days ago by Exal wont give up any information...though it is rather exciting, we never had an opportunity to study twin-bonds before.

-----

x/xx/xx

The prisoners were broken out by a traitor and two Neutral Zone scum. I don't really mind, we got some really exciting data. Maybe we can try linking the minds of two people who are not twins.

.

.

.

Several of the experiments didn't make it through. We might need to use one that all ready shows some psychic ability. One of our experiments, Subject 001, is eight and all ready showing the signs. We will begin testing with him and his fellow unit member, Subject 002. Since he is a Leader maybe we'll be able to physically connect him to all his team members if this is a success.

--------

Years ago a project was started, it was named Project Next Generation. The scientists of the Realm Officials had been given children ranging from newborn to seven years old, and were told to create the perfect fighting force. The children ranged from Angels, to Half-Angel, to Half-Demons, and Demons...they even managed to get their hands on a few Angel-Demon hybrids that made it pass the birthing process. The children were put into Units of 5 and would be raised alongside that unit to make the perfect team. A Leader, a Fighter, a Navigator, a Healer, and a Tracker. But, 16 years after the plan was first initiated a Unit of experiments broke out, lead by their Leader, one of the few Demon-Angel hybrids to make it past five years old.

Now free, the Leader of Unit 1, Ares, must lead his makeshift family, and those who joined him, to the rumored haven of the Neutral Zone. All while the mute Fighter, Halo, just tries to make sure that they get through things alive. Now hiding in what is now known as the Ghost Town the group searches for any sign of the Neutral Zoners, and any evidence of where they have gone. Will they find the Neutral Zone...or will they be thrown back into the hell of the Labs?

(Ares, Halo and Vensu age 9, Charon age 7, and Orchid age 4)

Halo curled up in the corner of the room that he and his Unit shared. He glanced around with ice blue eyes...nothing ever changed besides the number of beds, and now that wasn't going to change either. Same old gray walls, same old thick, metal door with the barred window, and same old little bathroom off to the corner. They had taken Ares for an experiment...they've been doing that a lot lately ever since they tried to connect their minds. It worked, but the Leader said not to tell, and according to their training the Fighters always listens to commands, so he told them it didn't work. Ares said it was to be kept a secret so he'd keep it a secret. Long white hair fell across his dark skinned face as he laid his head on his knees. Charon, a little dark haired boy, with gray skin, and shiny horns that curled back against his skull and Orchid, a tiny red haired girl with pale skin, and fluffy white wings, were taking naps in their respective beds, and Vensu was taken off to do tracker things. He hoped Ares and Vensu came back all right.

Then the scientist came in, result in the fighter to immediately jump to his feet. The hybrid's white bat-like wings twitched, last experiment they wanted samples of his wings, bone, blood, and tissue...it was painful.

"002, come, we have testing to do," One the white coated men said tonelessly, nudging the abomination forward with a gloved hand.

"Yes sir...," He answered quietly, not daring to look the man in the eyes.

The soon reached the testing room, and Halo came face to face with the thing that haunted all of their nightmares, and their reality. It was a metal table with restraints for ones wrist and ankles. Even though it is washed daily, it's shiny surface was forever stained with splats of dark, crimson red. Despite himself the child began to tremble as he was lifted to the table and harshly pushed back so that he was laying on the table. He yelped in pain as his wings were squished between his back and the cold metal. The restraints were clicked in place, and the nightmare began again.

Heavy breathing fogged the glass as the subject nearly cried from the experiments that was being perfomed around him. The boy was trapped inside of a glass container, awaiting his turn. This was, yet again, a dangerous lab product that was effecting all those around him. Scientists were wavering around a red gem-like object, which was held by a metal tool. The small stone was being forced into the body of the other subjects and was bringing fourth pained squalls. All bodies rejecting the small red object, causing for the others to die in a small amount of time.

The struggle was worse than Ares would think. It was now his turn to try to consume the gem into his body with open arms. It was scary to think that he could die, to leave the unit with a new leader. The blue orbs closed tightly, veins popping out at the amount of strength being uses for such a simple task. Soon strapped to a table, the red liquid dripping onto his skin, causing a burning sensation that Ares could help but squeal to. There was no way that his body was taking such a subject. Those who had lived from such a thing had been transformed into a mindless chimera of different kind. It was a sad moment for all those who were experimented on.

Hyperventilating, the green haired kid closed his eyes as a metal object pried his mouth open, and the gem-like object was forced into his throat. The hybrid swallowed the substance, as everything went silent. Opening his piercing murky-blue eyes, the teen glanced around with surprise. The gods were watching over him because his body had taken the object that was so drastically fed to him.

"Seems like subject 001 is our main priority. He's a success. Go to tell Whin-" A blood spiraling scream rushed through the air as the younger subject's body spasmed and raised slightly, pulling harshly against the restraints. It was all too much for one to take in. Too much of a powerful subject. The voice was gruff now, pale body trembling as saliva started to bubble from the teen's mouth. Red marks appeared around the other's body, the skin now laced with the strange appearance. All surrounding were going black.

______________________________________________

A sigh was given as murky blue eyes opened, the surroundings dark as he glanced around. Where was he? Struggling to stand, the green hair flopping as he did so, Ares groaned loudly with hurt. What caught his attention was the body of someone else. It seemed as the other was sleeping. The small light gleaming on the body in the distance. With steps to get to the other, the nine year old male slipped and hit the ground from a slippery substance.

"Ouch!" Ares nearly cursed out, eyes widening as another body was discovered. Eyes darting around the room, the kid quickly covered his mouth to hide his yells. There was no way that he was here with a those who had died. Such cruelty to dispose of the others in such a way as this.

The scientists loomed over the child, clicking one last restraint around his head so he was completely immobile. One muttered about how today they'd be testing his healing ability, and a bunch of other stuff Halo couldn't quite understand. Reaching onto a tray one picked up a scalpel, and pressed it to the boy's neck. Ice blue eyes went wide...he was going to die, wasn't he?*

Skin was peeled and cut back, revealing the muscle underneath. Blood began to soak Halo's neck and hospital gown as he screamed and cried in pain. One doctor handed the working one a vile, containing a substance that smelt of death to the boy's sensitive nose. The man took a brush, after wetting it lightly with the substance, and brushed it across the hybrids vocal chords. He watched in amazement as it started to burn and sizzle, but suddenly stopped and healed. He then went at it with a larger dose, and then an even larger dose while his colleagues took down notes.

Soon it got to the point the wound ceased to heal correctly...and Halo's screaming abruptly stopped. Then the scientists exchanged smirks.

"I believe we're done for today...report back to the commander that we have a substance that can slow an immorals healing," The lead scientist grinned wickedly, and then he turned to one of his lackeys and ordered, "And clean up it up, and bring it back to its containment unit, I don't want the creature dirty my laboratory any longer."

The child had long since stopped jerking on his restraints, and was struggling to stay awake as his new wound was stitched, and bandaged. The white haired boy was forced up, and on his feet. He swayed and stumbled and he was pushed and prodded down the identical hallways, head fuzzy from bloodloss and pain. His body felt numb, and his vision was getting blurry. When he was pushed back into his unit's cell he only managed a few step before falling forward, hitting the ground with a thud. He just couldn't find the strength to stay awake anymore...some Fighter he was.

The nine year old sat in the pile of dead, discarded bodies. One second holding his breath before releasing it to take in yet another shaky breath to hold. The smell was harsh, having the teen to vomit up his inside nearly three times, though due to no more content, the third time was unsuccessful, it was dry heaving. It was true that he didn't want to go back to the horrifying life of being experimented on, but he'd only die if deciding to stay in the dark area. A sob was released as he thought of the unit, there would be another leader to replace him. That was unacceptable, as Ares was not willing for such a thing to happen.

Taking his fist, the small child began to thrust it against the wall, hoping that one would hear the bangs and release him. In the darkness, too dark for one's vision to adjust, the blue murky eyes could not locate the door. Even so, the kid was sure that it would be locked, so it was better to try and draw attention.

The bashing had continued for well over an hour, and soon a door was opened. At the sudden light bursting through the darkness, the green haired kid dotted over to the man and wrap the other in a scared hug. Little Ares was still a kid, so he would defiantly cater to the likes of such a man under extreme conditions. It always worked anyhow. Just a simple sorry from a scientist would make the boy once again like them.

--Sniff "I won't do anything bad. I jus' wanna go back to my friends." The small kid cried, murky eyes leaking tears through the whole period of talking. Although the only thing racing through the scientists head was that one had survived in such an extreme experiment. Ares was the first to succeed in taking the Anti-Moral substance.

When Charon woke up he did not suspect to see their Unit's Fighter collapsed on the floor. The child jumped off his bed and raced to Halo's side. The Navigator struggled to lift the older, bigger child up, but managed to get his arms under the hybrid's armpits and drag him over to the nearest bed; the demon knew their Leader wouldn't mind since Halo was his best friend and all. After adjusting the injured boy on the bed, the red eyed demon bit his lip and observed Halo...he wasn't moving, just breathing slowly.*

Charon whimpered, knowing that since their new Healer was too young so she couldn't even help him. He wished May hadn't died...it wasn't that he didn't like Orchid...it was just that he missed their first Healer dearly. Sighing, the Navigator sat down on the floor next to the bed he put Halo on, waiting for one of the two older kids, Ares or Vensu, to come back.

The rain impinged harshly upon the earth's ground, nearly shattering every thought that plunged into the kid's mind. Those officials had the child out wondering for a certain escapee, and if not found....beating was in session. The familiar scent was being drowned out by the droplets of liquid, the wind murderously whipping the shaggy, spiky blue locks around. It was a whiff of scent that continued to bug at him. After following the familiar, yet strange scent, a lifeless body came into view. A gasp was given, the small nine year old falling onto his butt. What could he do, it was to bring in dead or alive.

Standing to take a hold of the other's body, managing to hoist the body onto his shoulder, Vensu trailed his steps back to the laboratory.

The sight was magnificent, red marks continued lace the skin which was hot to the touch; albeit that wasn't what was fascinating. The one thing that was beguiling was the unvarnished fact that the kid was lifting an object with a pained scream. The scientist pulled the knife from embedding in the arm of the child, patting the soft green locks with a smile.

"I'm sorry kid. Now let me bandage that." Taking a hold of the other and quickly running through the skin with a hot needle and thread.

Vensu entered the room with the unit and crashed to the floor on arrival. He was exhausted, and from small whips for taking to long, it had took more energy from him.

Charon immediately abandoned Halo's side, and ran over to Vensu. At this point Orchid woke up as well, and went over to help, but the demon waved her off; she was too tiny to help lift him. "Go get that first aid kit in the bathroom," He told the little girl firmly. The girl nodded, dark red curls bobbing with each nod, and ran off. She made the boy feel a mixture of sadness and jealousy...she was a newbie, and knew her parents. It was also sad since she was so young she would forget on her own in time...but it made him mad...he wished he knew his parents.

"Here we go again," The boy muttered, before hoisting Vensu up in a similar fashion as he did to Halo, and dragged him over to the bed that he knew was the older boy's. He helped the older kid onto the bed and motioned for Orchid to come over. The four year old stumbled over, having a hard time carrying the kit, Charon sighed and took it from her. "Come over here and pay attention, you'll be learnin' how ta do thith thoon," The Navigator ordered again, wincing slightly at his prominent lisp. He was glad he used to like watching May when she was still alive.

"Okay," The girl smiled innocently, making Charon frown...their new Healer wasn't going to stay innocent here for very long. She stood beside the older boy and looked at Vensu, head tilted slightly, "W'at 'appned to Venny?"

"Don't know...now be quiet and watch," Charon grumbled, narrowing his eyes slightly at the girl as he began to clean the wounds from what seemed like a mix of whips, and scratches from something or another, "Can't wait 'till you're trained...I don't like thith thupid job."

The piercing, murky blue eyes glanced up as small feet pattered against the dirty-white timed floor, making it's way to a familiar door. Opening the metal-slider, the muddy orbs widened at the scene being performed in the room. It seems as if Vensu was severly injured and Charon was playing doctor and stitching the other back to health. Ares vision darted to Orchid as she stood and watched, she was such a cute little girl, the bouncy red curls bringing her out more. What beauty.

Approaching the bed, but not before shutting the door, the leader sat himself beside his best friend, Halo. It seems like the white haired kid was hurt too. Running his pale fingers against the darkened skin, the nine year old admired the beauty of the other. The beautiful brownish-pink lips to the white hair that contrast sharply against the darkly toned skin. Halo surely had a fitted name, he truly featured that of an angel.

"Will Halo be ok?" Eyes never leaving the other as the chest rose with quickened breaths. The pale fingers rested against the chest of the fighter, staring at the other with a fearful smile. Ares was scared that his friend would die like all the others.

Charon looked away from the Tracker, and sighed, "I have no idea, Thir." Charon only called Ares, sir because he had a hard time pronouncing the boys name, it always came out as Areth and Ares always found that insulting...Vensu found it pretty funny though. He really hated his stupid lisp. The gray skinned boy hoped he was okay too...he didn't think he could handle another one of his teammates dying.

"I 'ope 'alo will be all right," Orchid voiced from Charon's side, not quite understanding that if the boy wasn't all right he might die. To a four year old death didn't seem to be a possibility, or even to exist. The demon frowned slightly at the little girl...the seven year old was sure he was like that once too. It must have been a short lived but glorious time that he no longer remembered.

Meanwhile Halo stirred slightly, ice blue eyes blinking open only to close again at the harsh light. He weakly raised a hand to shield his eyes and let out a very soft groan. Out of the corner of his eye he finally noticed Ares sitting neck to him. "A....," Was all he managed to get out before he started coughing, and gripped his bandaged throat. He tried again to speak but the pain in his throat was too much, and started coughing harder, blood starting not only to come out his mouth but stain the bandage around his throat as well. The white haired boy stopped trying, and soon the searing pain died down. He looked into his best friends murky blue eyes with an expression of horror on his face and mouthed, 'I...I can't talk.' It took a lot to make the quite Fighter cry...but he felt tears begin to sting his eyes, and shoulders began trembling in silent sobs. He couldn't talk...

Ares grimaced at the seven year old as he talked. Firstly, the boy was attending to Vensu when his best friend was at risk of losing his life. Second, the lisp was seriously getting on his fucking nerves, even though it wasn't the other's fault. It was most likely because the elder kid was seriously having a image of the dark-skinned child dying. Halo meant a lot to him and the last thing he wanted to happen was for his best friend to die.

Just when the green haired teen was about to throw a tantrum, a noise caught his attention. Halo had awoken and Ares heart slow down back to it regular beat. What brought tears to the leaders eyes was when he watched the other cough severely after trying to call his name. After performing the action each time, the results were the same. Soon the other's piercing ice-blue eyes began to water also. Mouthing to Ares that he couldn't speak.

The leader's eyes widened and shook his head. "No. W-what did they do to you?" Ares cried, throwing his hand around the other's and falling into his chest. The boy knew that Halo was hurting, but he wouldn't touch the other's injured areas. As always, something terrible happened to the ones he cared about.

Halo bit his lip, and ran a hand threw his best friends unruly hair. He looked to Charon and made a gesture to look as if he was writing, hoping the other child would get the message. The demon took a minute to figure out what his Unit's Fighter was trying to say, but then quickly ran off to one of the bedside tables to dig out a pen, and, after some digging, a notepad. The Navigator handed it to the older silently, with a look of concern in his bright red eyed. Halo, still a little teary-eyed, waved the smaller off...the nine year old didn't like pity very much...it made him feel awkward.

'They cut open my throat and put this burning stuff on it...it healed at first but it stopped healing the more they put on. I hurts really bad when I try to talk,' He wrote out with shaky hands. He thought for a second before adding a question that weighed heavy on his mind, 'Am I useless to the Unit now?' Fighters were supposed to be strong, they were supposed to heal the fastest and hit the hardest. They weren't supposed to be hindered by emotions...but Halo felt scared...scared that he would be useless to his friends now with out his voice. He was scared that he couldn't heal fast anymore, that they did something to him to mess that up with that stuff the put on his throat. He was scared that Ares wouldn't want him to be his Fighter anymore.

Ares stared after the seven year old as he rushed off to receive the materials that the injured kid was requesting. The wait was taking absolutely too long for the leader, Ares, even at the age of nine, didn't have much patience. Murky blue eyes darted back to the one in front of him, running his pale fingers across the darker toned skin. Halo was such a beauty, and it would waste if the other died so soon. The notepad was soon passed to the other with a pen to accompany.

After the pale hybrid skimmed over the letter, a frown was quickly conquering the other expression riding upon Ares' face. "The scientist did this to you?" Hurt blue eyes glancing up to the other with bewilderment. How could the others do such a crime? --Sniff...what a waste. Ares suddenly read over the ending and paused in mid read. He already knew what the other would be asking. Crumbling the paper a little due to the bawling of fingers, the green haired nine year old stared to Halo.

"You aren't useless. Don't worry. The team can still use you. Halo, you wouldn't even be useless to me if you died." Combing fingers through the long white hair of the injured kid. Ares wanted to make the other feel as if he was still safe.

"The scientist did this to you?"

Halo nodded weakly...he didn't know why Ares trusted them sometimes. The other kid might be in their Unit's Leader position, but sometimes the hybrid could be painfully naive. As naive as their new Healer even. The white haired boy never liked the scientists, they hurt them, and a simple sorry wasn't going to cut it for him anymore. Unknown to Halo, Charon agreed; the demonic boy hated the scientists, though with a more open passion than their Fighter. It was kind of scary to see the kind of hatred in a seven year old.

"Of courthe they hurt him, thir...it'th kind of what they do," Charon voiced as he went back to patching up Vensu, "The thien-thhh...ah! You know who I'm talkin' 'bout...are bad, and mean and you know they wouldn't care if they killed all of uth." The demon could be pretty outspoken sometimes, and that often resulted in many punishments for the boy, but he didn't care, he like to let his opinion be known.

"You aren't useless. Don't worry. The team can still use you. Halo, you wouldn't even be useless to me if you died."

That made a weird, warm feeling bloom in the normally cold boy's chest. Ares was his best friend and had shown that he cared about the fellow hybrid plenty of times...but for some reason those words meant a lot. He hooked an arm around the other's shoulder and pulled him down into a hug, something the Fighter hardly did for even little Orchid. He buried his face in the other's chest, clinging tightly to the slightly bigger kid. He didn't know what he'd do without Ares.

The rapidly approaching padding of boots caused Ares to press his back against the wall. Security rushed by, a nauseous smell of death lingering to the air around them. Lost souls clutching to the coating of the scientist as the men reached and grabbed at the escapees. The green haired boy liked to see that he had done everyone a favor. It was either one way or another. To try or don't try. To die or to live. To escape or stay obedient. To follow direction or bend the rules. The leader of unit 0 would perform the actions of being one to try, live, to escape and bend the rules.

The elder released a sigh and glanced around to the young unit members hoping to give all an encouraging glance. This would be make-it-or-break-it stage. All on their own, that is if others wanted to escape. Staying behind to help a friend would end in death, capture or a beating. It was cruel, but it was all that Ares could think of. Forcing the systems to shut down wasn't easy, and the leader of unit 0 wouldn't let it go to waste for neither of them to escape.

"You all know what this means. We make it...or we die. Don't afford to let yourself fall, and if you do...get up quickly. I am the leader of the unit and I pronounce.....that.....we can't...help one another at this point. I'm giving you all three hours to get out of here. Are you all ready?" The teen whispered, biting into his bottom lip. A blood curling scream echoed through the waiting silence, besides the running and exhales of breathes, as blood splattered on the walls beside the waiting teens. Seems like one was just killed and soon, if the unit did not*move, they'd end up the same.

Over the years Ares had received a hip fracture and it was the main reason for the plan. If the other's were to help him, there was no way that they would make it out. He had actually done this for them all, but he knew that the chances was a bit low for him. The standing time for the green haired male was surely none over an hour, and running was not Ares' string point. "Whenever you all are ready, then go." Staring to the others with murky blue eyes.

Halo always fallowed what ever orders he received from his Leader...but the slightly younger hybrid didn't think he could fallow these. He didn't care...he wasn't letting Ares get killed just because of his hip. The boy's grip on his sword tightened; he had managed to swip it from where the gaurds locked away the weapons. The mute Fighter was going to make sure everyone, including Ares, made it through. No matter the cost.

Charon spread his senses, trying to plot a path for them to take. As a Navigator he was forced to learn the skill, which resulted in horrible headaches and sensory overload occasionally, but he wasn't to let some petty risks stop him. He opened his normally red eyes, which were glowing a solid white as he used his power. He couldn't see the world around him, just auras and and energies.

"The cleareth way is up the hall, the firth right, the next left, and continue forward until you reach the double doorth..." Charon whispered, pulling Orchid a little closer to him. He blinked a couple times, eyes returning to normal. As the Navigator he was also designated strategist, next to the Leader, of course; so the dark haired demon herded the younger kids they rescued into the center of group. It would do little good to them if the kids began falling behind, or got in the way.

Glancing around to the others, the green haired male raised a brow to the others. "What the hell are you all doing? Go!" Waving his hands in a dismissal way. This was exactly what he didn't want the others to do....wait for all to move out. "Charon gave you all a route. It's best you move out now than wait and have men corner that area before you all get there." Murky blue eyes showed seriousness as the leader of the unit spoke.

A sigh was unleashed through the surrounding air as Vensu glanced toward the smaller of the group, Orchid, and gave a small smile. Placing his hands onto the girl's shoulder, the teen stared into the red head's eyes. "Let us go. We can not afford to stay here. Come, come with me." Waiting to see if the small girl would take his hand. The leaders words meant nothing to him. There was no way in hell that Vensu would leave the girl behind. The male loved her and refused to obey that one rule.

Orchid immediately broke from Charon's hold, and grabbed onto Vensu's hand. She clung to her surrogate brother's hand tightly as he tugged her after him as they started down the hall. Charon fallowed suit, knowing, as Navigator, he should be in the lead so they'd know exactly where to go. Halo made sure some of the other, nameless children were ahead of him before going himself. When being trained as a Fighter there were only two strategic positions he was given in a group setting, front, where he could kill on coming enemies, and the back, where he could take on pursuers. He chose the back.

The dark skinned boy only stopped for a fraction of a second to shoot Ares a look that read, 'Go you idiot, I got the rear covered'. He then, defying a direct order for one of the few times in his life, grabbed his best friend by the arm and shoved him lightly so that he was going ahead of him. Ares was special to the hybrid...and he wasn't going to let the other just be a self sacrificing idiot. The Fighter was supposed to be the one to put down their life to protect the team and assure the mission is a success...the Leader was just supposed to give the orders. Plus, the white haired male had a weapon, most of the others didn't.

Ares glanced back to Halo and gave a smile to the other. The dark-skinned adolescent could be so worrisome sometimes, especially when not heeding to his demands. It also made the older teen feel loved that Halo would think of him so much. Quickly rushing behind Vensu, the leader pushed flattened his body against the wall, watching as Charon, Vensu and Orchid dashed out of view from a scientist that had appeared.

"Dammit!" Glancing back to his friend with a glare. "I told you to go ahead, why are you standing back." Ares just wanted his friend to be safe and escape this horrific building. If Halo was to die then it would all be hell, especially if it was because of attempting to help him. The green haired teen waited for an answer, closing his eyes as his hip began to ache. This was terrible.

Halo glared back at the other and pressed a hand firmly against the other's back, forcing the other male to move faster. As they passed the scientist that suddenly appeared the dark skinned teen stabbed the enemy in the gut with much precision. He then forced Ares to move forward again, keeping a look out for anymore enemies. If anyone was getting out alive it would be Ares. Halo would rather die knowing he helped his friends, than knowing he let the one who made him actually feel emotions die. Plus, the Unit needed a Leader, they could do without a Fighter.

'Don't care what you say, I want everyone out alive,' Halo thought, knowing the other would hear him, 'And that means you too, Ares.' Fighters always died young for a reason...protecting the Unit is their life. Halo was no different.

Ares halted in his tracks, reaching a hand around to hold onto Halo's shirt. The green haired teen was thankful that the other was doing such a task, but it was quite dangerous for the dark-skinned male to be doing such a deed. Ares needed rest, there was no way that he could stand for much longer. "You need to get out of here. I can't move much longer, and if you depend on staying, guide us somewhere safe." Knowing that Halo wouldn't listen to his first warning.

Vensu held the young girl close to his chest. The scientist had just released chimeras. Mutated beast that would soon devour them, if not prepared for an extreme fight. The elder teen would not let the red-head girl die, not when in his presence. The coal colored eyes, darted around the area, and back to the girl in his arms. "Don't worry, I'll get you out of here." Dark eyes darting to Charon. "Where the fuck are the others?" Covering the younger's ears.

"I can't move much longer, and if you depend on staying, guide us somewhere safe."

Halo nodded, smirking ever so slightly before his face went back to it's normal, impassive state. He slipped an arm around the taller boy's waist, and pulled Ares' arm over his shoulder. The white haired boy quickly guided the other male over to what was thankfully a janitor's closest. The half-demon opened the door and placed the other down gently, before checking the perimeter. No one saw them...good. They had three hours, they could afford to rest for a few minutes. The boy then stood between his best friend and the door, back to his Leader, and sword poised and ready for use. Anyone else comes in here they were in for a decapitation.

Orchid buried her face in the older boy's chest. Part of her wanted to protest to being carried, since she was thirteen, but in a way this was easier on her friends. The red headed girl was naturally tiny, and living in the labs had made her even smaller with malnutrition. It was still a bit frustrating though, she didn't like being so useless fighting wise since she was the Healer.

"Where the fuck are the others?"

Charon looked up, and bit his lip, "They're back there...it's Halo and Thir, they'll catch up." They all knew what was wrong with Ares, and his hip...but the demon was confident that the Fighter and Leader could pull through this. At least he hoped. "We need to keep goin', Ven, the Chimeras are comin'," He whispered, not only sensing them, but hearing their wild growls, and screams off in the distance. As hard as it was to leave them behind, Charon knew it's what Ares wanted them to do, he also knew that Halo, the stubborn bastard, would try anything in his power to protect their green haired Leader...even if it cost the idiot his life.

Vensu glanced back to the red head girl that he held tightly against his chest. The group couldn't afford to wait around for the other two or they'd possible be killed. Coal eyes glancing up to slightly gasp, a hand went around Orchid's small waist. Making sure that the other's vision was blocked due the position, the tracker quickly threw a worried look to the navigator. Right above their heads was two chimeras. Eyes red searching for a prey to feast on. The eldest teen didn't have a weapon in the first, all he could do was run; although running at this point was a bad idea.

Saliva from the hungry beast dripped onto the floor, staining the tiles with thick, white substance; Something that made the older male cringe slightly.

Ares closed his eyes and rested his head against the wall behind him. A hum left his lips as he once again glanced at the other with a saddened smile. "Why are you still here? You know there is a time limit to this right? Only two hours and fifty minutes. If I'm the reason that you get stuck here with me again....I won't forgive myself." The green haired teen voiced sternly.
