ACTION GENRE

Action is a genre that allows us to see the story through fights, explosions, car chases and fit, good looking heroes.
ADVENTURE GENRE

SUMMARY

Adventure manga is a genre that revolves around the conquests and explorations of a protagonist. The purpose of the conquest can be to retrieve a person or treasure, but often the main focus is simply the pursuit of the unknown. These films generally take place in exotic locations and play on historical myths. Adventure films incorporate suspenseful puzzles and intricate obstacles that the protagonist must overcome in order to achieve the end goal.

COMEDY GENRE

SUMMARY

Comedy is related to humorous themes; it may be divided into multiple genres based on the source of humor, the method of delivery, and the context in which it is delivered.

DRAMA GENRE

SUMMARY

A drama manga is a manga genre that depends mostly on in-depth development of realistic characters dealing with emotional themes. Dramatic themes such as alcoholism, drug addiction, infidelity, moral dilemmas, racial prejudice, religious intolerance, sexuality, poverty, class divisions, violence and corruption put the characters in conflict with themselves, others, society and even natural phenomena.

FANTASY GENRE

SUMMARY

Fantasy is a genre that commonly uses magic and other supernatural phenomena as a primary plot element, theme, or setting. Many works within the genre take place in imaginary worlds where magic and magical creatures are common.

SUPERNATURAL GENRE

SUMMARY

Supernatural means anything above and beyond 'the natural order of things.' A ghostly sighting would be supernatural. A vampire or a werewolf would be considered supernatural as well. If a person could move things with their mind. Anything that is not in the natural scientific order of living. Any of the above that cannot be scientifically proven as fake or phony.

SCI-FI GENRE

SUMMARY

Science fiction is a genre in which the stories often tell about science and technology of the future . It is important to note that science fiction has a relationship with the principles of science—these stories involve partially true- partially fictitious laws or theories of science. It should not be completely unbelievable, because it then ventures in to the genre fantasy.

PSYCHOLOGICAL GENRE

SUMMARY

Psychological has to do with "the mind" so to speak. If a manga is tagged with a psychological theme you can expect characters to have emotional, mental, or behavioral issues. This can include things like depression, split personalities, or anything that is associated with "the mind" and how it effects the way we behave. It has nothing to do with blood or gore although psychological issues could lead to violence, it does not guarantee it at all. Psychological manga also has nothing to do with "deep meaning" either as the other two posters have said. That would be philosophical.

HISTORICAL GENRE

SUMMARY

Historical genre includes representations of events whose social significance is recognized by contemporaries. The genre comprises historical paintings, morals, beliefs, free-standing characters or not, and amazing art. It often incorporates elements of other genres, including the representation of scenes from daily life, portraiture (as in the depiction of historical figures and historical group portraits), and landscape painting (as in the “historical landscape”); battle pieces revealing the historical significance of military events closely approach the historical genre.

HORROR GENRE

SUMMARY

Horror manga is a genre that aims to create a sense of fear, panic, alarm, and dread for the audience. These manga are often unsettling and rely on scaring the audience through a portrayal of their worst fears and nightmares. Horror usually centers on the arrival of an evil force, person, or event. Many horror manga include mythical creatures such as ghosts, vampires, and zombies. Traditionally, horror incorporates a large amount of violence and gore into the plot. Though it has its own style, horror often overlaps into Fantasy, Thriller, and Science-Fiction genres.
