    Karmic Weaver {mik3la & Sosuke0549}

    Alistair couldn't take his eyes off Alexander for a multitude of reasons, but the main ones were; 1 He could kill him & 2 He was fascinated by him. The priest seemed to be showing genuine concern for him. His joke landed, a soft laugh escaped the others lips. He had heard people laugh throughout his entire life, but Alexander's sounded warm...like Christmas bells on santa sleigh, or the frantic giggling of a baby. It had warmth too it, and evoked emotion. A laugh so cute...a feeling so warm...it practically demanded the same response. To his suprise, the priest continued the banter. [ “Of course I am. I live here. You on the other hand …Most demons avoid holy mountains. For obvious reasons." ] "What can I say...I'm stubborn." He deflected, as Alexander took a step closer. It was hard to blindly trust someone...god...how did humans do such a thing? He felt... rather uncomfortable sharing the same space with him. Vulnerable . [ “And judging by the way you're breathing, you're starting to remember why.”] " I'm fine...Hiking just isn't my thing." He played it off. Not wanting to appear weak. ["You're definitely not fine.”] His voice was soft but held so much weight. Was he seriously showing compassion towards him? He wasn't use to this...the emotion and action felt extremely foreign to him. He couldn't see his strings, and therefore he couldn't determine if Alexander's actions were genuine. So Alistair had to use his own emotions to determine what was real and what was fake...and right now...he was hating it. Is this what it felt like to be human? Alistair clenched a fist as the priest drew closer. Was he getting closer because he was curious....or to lower his guard so he could kill him. [ “You should turn back before the pressure crushes your lungs, Demons aren’t meant to walk this mountain.”] "You don't say..." Was he going to let him leave? Just like that? Wasn't he concerned? Curious as to why he was here. Why he was following him? [ “I’m trying to decide whether that’s brave or incredibly foolish.”] " I'm too hha...handsome to be a fool." He forced a smile. Feeling body and lungs ache. It was getting harder and harder to breath.He could feel Alexander gaze on him. He wished he knew what the blonde was thinking. [ “…You really shouldn't push yourself this hard. It's dangerous for you.”] " ha..ha.a priest.ha..worried about a..ah.ha..a demon?" He chuckled. " Now Ive sseen it ah.all...ha.ha.." [ "I don't like seeing anyone suffer. Even someone who probably came here for reasons I won't like." ] " Now we're.ha..stereotyping...ha s-shame on you..ha...M-maybe I..j-just wanted to ha...go.ha..hiking...ha-.." [ "And yet... you came close enough for me to feel you. That means something."] This was bad...he was starting to feel light headed. His vision flickering from blurry to clear. He reached for a tree, using it to steady himself. [ “And if you're going to follow me again, you may want to build up your tolerance to holy ground. Unless you enjoy looking like you're about to faint.”] ( He knows...Im reaching my limit...) He struggled to catch his breath, his head falling as he stared at the ground. It was hard to even look at him now. Alexander had this soft glow around him that started to burn your eyes if you were a demon. " You saah.ha..said again....me-meaning n-next time ha.ha.ha......." He locked eyes with Alexander, determined. " When." ( Why the hell...do I want to see you again...)

  8. For a long moment, Kaito couldn't speak. His throat felt too tight, his thoughts too loud, his heartbeat too uneven. Asher's voice reached him through all of it , steady, patient, a grounding warmth he didn't know he'd been starved for. Not pushing or demanding. Just … there. Kaito swallowed hard. His fingers curled unconsciously into the fabric of his pants, grounding himself with the smallest anchor he could manage. When he finally spoke, his voice came out rough, unsteady. “…She talked to me.” Asher didn't move, but Kaito felt the way the air shifted, attention sharpening, not in a predatory way but in a deeply protective one. Kaito darted a quick glance up at him, then looked away again, heat rising in his face. “It wasn't like hearing someone out loud,” he continued quietly. "It was... inside. More like … like she's always been there, just waiting for me to notice." The wolf stirred at the back of his mind calm now, listening. Not pushing him. Just present. "She said she was locked hidden. That she had to stay quiet so no one could use me. Or find me." A shaky breath escaped him. “She said they'd…hurt me if they knew.” He took another breath, shakier than he meant to and forced the words out. “She also said she woke up because… I wasn't alone anymore.” The moment the sentence left him, his pulse spiked. He felt exposed, vulnerable in a way he'd never allowed himself to be. Kaito swallowed again. There was no easy way to say the rest. "And she told me why. Why she woke up now. Why I felt … why everything feels like this." His voice cracked. Kaito forced himself to meet his eyes. “It's because of you,” he whispered. Kaito's wolf pressed softly against his ribs, offering silent courage. "She said... you're the one meant to protect me. Help me. That she wasn't supposed to wake up until I had someone who could keep me safe." His breath trembled again, but he didn't look away. “And she told me something else.” Kaito felt his heartbeat slam against his ribs. "She said there's a bond. Between us." “She said…” Kaito's voice dropped to a whisper, every word trembling. “…that we’re mates.” The world went impossibly quiet. Kaito felt the truth burn in his chest like a second heartbeat. His wolf steady behind him, Asher steady in front of him, and himself caught between terror and the first fragile bloom of belonging he'd felt in years. Kaito didn't expect the silence to feel heavy. He felt like he was standing on the edge of something so big it threatened to swallow him whole. We're mates. The words still echoed in his skull, ringing like truth and warning all at once He dragged a shaky hand through his hair, fingers trembling so hard he almost missed. He didn't want to look at Asher, didn't want to see whatever expression was on his face … and yet… He did. He looked. And the way Asher was watching him, sharp, focused, tense but not angry, made Kaito's stomach twist in ways he didn't have labels for yet. This wasn't supposed to be possible. This wasn't supposed to be them. Kaito had spent so much time avoiding him. Arguing with him. Bracing every time the wolf got too close because their personalities clashed like flint and steel. And Asher … God, Asher had always been this arrogant, stubborn, unbearably intense wolf who walked through rooms like he owned the floorboards. Who glared at Kaito like he was a problem waiting to happen. Who argued with him about everything logic, rules, angles, stubbornness … But also who stepped in front of danger without thinking. Who dragged him behind his back when hell broke loose. Who stood between Kaito and every threat without ever asking for thanks or permission. And now they were … Mates … Bound. Linked on a level he didn't even fully understand yet. He swallowed, throat tight. “I don't…” His voice cracked, so he started again. “I don't know what this means, Asher. And I know we don’t exactly… get along.” His mouth twisted, half a bitter laugh, half despair. "You hating and not trusting me helped our lives. And I … " He stopped, breathing stuttering. He didn't want to admit the rest. Didn't want to confess that yes, he noticed Asher was attractive, painfully so. That he'd noticed the stupidly broad shoulders and the sharp jaw and the way Asher's eyes always looked like they were reading him like a secret. He didn't want to admit how many times he'd wondered why Asher bothered getting so worked up over him. He didn't want to admit anything, really. Because now… it mattered. And that made it terrifying. Kaito wrapped his arms around himself, squeezing until his ribs ached. “Look, I just—” He lifted his gaze, "I don't want this bond to make things worse. I don't want you stuck with someone you have nothing to do with … Someone you don’t even …"He cut himself off before he said like. Because that felt too raw, too open. His wolf stirred, warm and steady, insisting in that quiet way: He won't leave. He won't abandon you. He won't hurt you. But Kaito couldn't trust that yet. Not when his whole world had changed in a heartbeat.

    Karmic Weaver {mik3la & Sosuke0549}

    Alex hadn't expected him to step out. He had fully anticipated the presence to disappear again, or at least retreat deeper into the forest. Demons always did. But this one … This one came forward. The guy emerged through the fog like a figure carved out of shadow and moonlight. Dark hair, worn clothing, a practiced smile. To anyone else, he would look like a young traveller lost on a mountain trail. But Alex saw the truth immediately. The moment his foot touched the clearing, a ripple of demonic energy brushed the air uneven, strained, thrumming with a faint metallic ache. His aura flickered like a candle in the wind, suppressed hard by the holy pressure of the mountain. Alex's breath stilled. He came here… knowing this mountain would crush him? Is he insane? Or...determined? The guys eyes met his. Human brown for half a second, then shifting, bleeding into a deep, sharp red that glowed faintly under the moon. So he wasn't hiding anymore. Alex felt something inside him tighten. Not panic or dread. Something closer to curiosity snapping awake with an almost painful clarity. A demon. A karmic weaver to be exact. On sacred ground. But that wasn't what unsettled him the most. It was the breathlessness in his chest. The forced steadiness of his stance. The way his aura strained against the holy atmosphere like a wounded bird trying to stand tall. He was suffering and still he stepped closer. Alex blinked slowly, unable to help himself. “…You really shouldn’t be here.” The words came out gentle, almost chiding like he was scolding someone for walking barefoot in snow rather than confronting a being who could warp destinations. Alex's lips curved, soft amusement despite the tension in the air. "A little?" His tone was slightly ironic. “You look like you're trying not to pass out.” Most humans would be terrified at this point. But he was teasing him. Then came the second line. Alex exhaled a small quiet, surprised and genuine laugh. Nice way to start up a conversation when clearly this wasn’t then best terrain for the guy to be on. “Of course I am. I live here. You on the other hand …” Alex sigh keeping his eyes on the other, trying to understand his reasons to get this close. "Most demons avoid holy mountains. For obvious reasons." He stepped a little closer, not threateningly, but with concern etched in his expression. “And judging by the way you're breathing, you're starting to remember why.”“You're definitely not fine.” Alex's voice was still soft, but the weight underneath it was unmistakable compassion threaded with authority. The child that soothed. The kind that struck straight to the truth. Now that the guy stood in full view, Alex finally let himself feel him. Not just sense him, but truly perceive the energy radiating from him and something stuttered in his chest. Demonic energy, yes. But woven with rare, volatile karmic threads, beautiful in a way Alex didn't have a word for. His presence wasn't chaotic like typical demons, nor oppressive. It was… layered. Heavy yet strangely elegant, like storm clouds coiling around starlight. It made Alexander's light react. Not recoil. Respond. He swallowed, unsettled by the sensation. A faint, pulling hum under his ribs, like two threads brushing against each other too closely. Interesting. Dangerously interesting. He stepped closer again, careful but unafraid. “You should turn back before the pressure crushes your lungs,” he murmured. “Demons aren’t meant to walk this mountain.” “I’m trying to decide whether that’s brave or incredibly foolish.” He let his gaze sweep over him again. His unsteady breathing, the trembling flicker in his aura. It was obvious that he was in pain. He knew his father too well and the amount of power that was wooven into the wards. “…You really shouldn't push yourself this hard. It's dangerous for you.” For a moment, the forest held its breath and the guy blinked. Alex's eyes softened. "I don't like seeing anyone suffer. Even someone who probably came here for reasons I won't like." He tilted his head slightly, studying the weaver. "And yet... you came close enough for me to feel you. That means something." Alexander smiled gentle and a little crooked. “And if you're going to follow me again, you may want to build up your tolerance to holy ground.” A beat. “Unless you enjoy looking like you're about to faint.” Alex…felt something warm flicker inside him. Something new and dangerous. Something he couldn't stop himself from wanting to understand.
